Chapter 51-
As Grey woke from the scene, he was met with by countless gazes. The comprehension test was over and everyone had mainly three colors in their eyes. Most had more than three different colors in their eyes while even some had two and just one.
He looked up to see the domineering Dragon statue and confusion appeared on his face before it quickly dissipated. He realized that it would have been impossible if the real Dragon statue suddenly crumbled down.
'But what was I seeing? And does everyone else also see it?' He said internally before he turned his attention to everyone around him.
By his side, Sylvia looked at Grey with a small frown on her face. Her eyes giving off a seven-colored glow at the moment. If she had been given enough time, she would have been able to comprehend the techniques completely.
But alas, this technique could only be comprehended once. So unless she found a way to come back, she could not completely comprehend Dragon's eyes!
"A genius..." The old man muttered when he saw the ten colored glow in Grey's eyes. As soon as the test was finished he was visible to everyone.
"You! Did you see the Dragon emperor?" The old man had already rushed down as he held him by the shoulder. With the ten colored lights suddenly fading away from his eyes, he put on a fawning expression and said meekly.
"No, I didn't see he Dragon emperor." He said while looking down. His expression still one of fawning. The old man clicked his tongue and flew back on top of the Dragon statue. The test had not yet finished, only a couple of minutes remained so he would let the time run out before giving everyone their scores.
But his heart raced when he saw the fading multicolored light in Grey's eyes. He clicked his tongue angrily as he spoke within his heart. 'If only he met the Dragon emperor, he could have had a chance to learn an emperor level cultivation art. This has happened only a few times in history!' He said sadly and closed his eyes to wait for the remainder time to go by.
Up in a enclosed room, Tyler suddenly smiled mischievously at the Captain when she saw the ten colored glow from his eyes begin to fade. Everyone here had all passed through this test, and it determined the level of your comprehensive abilities and the amount of resources that should be poured into you by the academy.
Those who had comprehended fifty percent of the technique, would find that they can unleash a mental attack on their opponents. Although it depends on your level of cultivation and your understanding, but to your peers it was a very deadly technique that could be used to change the tide in any battle.
If Grey had fully comprehended one hundred percent of the technique and met the Dragon emperor, he could be one of the lucky few who could master the emperor level cultivation art.
But unfortunately, Grey had hidden that fact because he didn't want to draw too much attention to himself.
He had read too many books and seen movies about what would happen if he got too much attention. So, he just lied. His gains from this test was a lot. He felt that under the brazen stare of the Dragon statue, his mind had been sharpened. He could enter a meditative state easily now and concentrating would not be hard. Not to speak of the changes brought to his eyes.
To him, he felt his perception got better. He could sense every color on the spectrum on a whole different level now. Heck, if one should look closely into his eyes they would be hit by a very strong sense of vertigo and nausea.
'As expected of the Sky Mist academy...' Th.is tr^an+s^la#tion is p*ower@ed+ by the re$ade*r^s at M|V|&LE^9MP%YR.
Although comprehending this technique was a milestone and the academy would place much focus on you, he felt this technique wasn't complete. This was just about one percent of the real technique. But to avoid bringing unwanted attention to himself, he lied he hadn't met the Dragon emperor for safety reasons, if not be would have been able to comprehend en emperor level cultivation art.
With his new level of perception, Grey felt that he could continue to learn the Shadow sect secret art. The Jade slip said that to learn that art, one had to have a strong level of perception and metal fortitude.
This comprehension test had just open new doors for him. Although his cultivation was going rather slowly, he was not too sad about that. The Sky Mist art did say that you would feel a bottle once you were at the fifth level going to the sixth level. Same thing with the sixth level gonh to the seventh level. There would also be a similar bottleneck.
Tha bottleneck was very difficult to overcome yet at the same time it wasn't. Breaking through to the seventh level would officially mean that he was a powerhouse of the Qi accumulation realm.
And coupled with his purple sword slash technique, he would be a force to reckon it. This new mental strength would also help him in refining poison and medicine. With his mental state getting an increase, his mind would obviously give better results.
Grey was excited because this small comprehension test had truly opened up doors for him.
A couple minutes flew by and the Dragon statue suddenly closed its eyes, marking the one hour comprehensive test was over.
Now that the test was over, everyone who had noticed Grey's eyes exuded ten different colors looked at him, especially his teammates. Sylvia had a dull look with in eyes. She was well aware of her capabilities and knew that comprehending seventy percent of this technique was a milestone, yet he did the unbelievable and while everyone thought he was still stuck at twenty percent, he suddenly exploded and his eyes suddenly glowed with ten different resplendent colors. It was like a miracle.
"Wow Captain, I never knew you were this good." Zayne said while awkwardly scratching his head. To everyone he looked silly and weird, but to Grey he felt chills when he heard being called by the young man.
He nodded curtly at him. Maybe no one else felt it, but he did! He felt a strange aura around this young green haired boy and with his perception and eyesight improved by the continuous sharpening against the Dragon statue, he felt like he was looking at something he wasn't supposed to. So he quickly retracted his gaze.
Zayne had managed to comprehend forty percent of the technique due to the four colored lights gradually disappearing into his eyes. It was not overly impressive like Grey and Sylvia's display, but it was still worth taking note of.
With the test coming to an end, the examiner for this round began to five each of them their scores. 'Grey scored nine points, Sylvia scored seven points, Ange had scored five points while Zayne and Alice each scoring four points respectively.
Other than Alice who looked at Grey with a complicated expression, everyone else nodded at him curtly. They were now beginning to acknowledge him as their Captain in the tests.
After giving each and every one of them a score, those that passed were enveloped by a yellow light while those that failed were carried away by a white light.
Out of the four hundred people that sat for the second test, only a measly half barely passed the thirty percent mark. The rest who did not pass would have to take their losses and return home.
Sky mist academy only accepted students from age fourteen to seventeen. That meant that in five years time, they would be too old to sit for the test. Many people held back tears as they were sent back. Entering the Sky Mist academy was a one chance thing. There were no second tries.
In this cruel world now, there was no pity for the weak. Everyone had to get by using their own means. If any one if them did not meet the requirements of the Sky Mist academy, they were simply sent back.
Of course they would come back with something that had learnt after the test, but that was nothing to compared to what they taught in the Sky Mist academy
The tests for admission into Sky Mist academy was as tough as well as taxing. This was already the second test yet many had been eliminated even faster than the first.
Seeing all this, Grey remembered what Tyler told him a while back. 'Give it your all! Even geniuses can fail this test if they not serious.'
At first he didn't understand what Tyler was saying at the moment, yet now he did. She wasn't saying that geniuses that could fail if they were not serious, she was saying that geniuses will fail if they were not serious.
It was a clear as day. In both fear and anticipation, Grey was anxious as they were beamed over to the third test.
