Chapter 37- Wrecking havoc
In another part of the Shadow sect, Ange was wrecking havoc. Sometimes she would perform hand seals and a blue light would come out from the brown cauldron and start refining the Shadow sect members.
Though they were screaming, they were still turned into soul pills by Ange. At this point, she no longer had a sweet and delicate expression on her face, but instead looked like a demoness instead who would refine the sect members into pills.
While licking her lips, she put one pill in her mouth and felt her spirit energy increasing. The Shadow sect members would all run away in fear, but whoever was touched by the blue light had no way of escaping.
They would turn into medicinal pills later. From afar, Luo saw all this and let out a soft sigh. She now looked towards Grey and saw him sprinkling poison like he was dispersing seeds.
Her eyebrows twitched before she took out several bottles of pills and swallowed repeatedly with a bitter expression on her face.
"This kid... Doesn't he know that we are also here. Yet he's sprinkling poison like powder." She had made a mistake by going to check on Grey earlier.
She was shocked when she saw him dispersing poison, but was even shocked when the poison started affecting her. She rushed away while swallowing several pills at once.
'That kid has no compassion at all.' She then shook her head and looked around her. All the Shadow sect members were dead on the floor, in their own puddle of blood.
But she didn't go out to kill more, instead she looked at the palace standing on top of a mountain range and frowned. She looked at the Captain who was standing with a indifferent expression on top a single block of ice in the air.
She didn't know that was possible, but the Captain was doing it.
'When will the sect ancestor come...'
Before she had time to finish her thought though, a piercing light suddenly shone from the top of the palace.
This light was followed by the sound of a projectile piercing through the air. In the next moment, one of the Captain's clones was severed into the and dissipated into blue mist.
Another one died again and just as the blur was about to reach him, he stretched out his hand and the magic boat came out.
Standing in the bow, Captain gestured and a string blast of divinity was sent out to meet the blur.
The divinity blast hit the blur and stopped it's arrival. With it's speed lowered, they could then see what it was. It was a black iron stick.
The Captain frowned and looked towards the palace that was still pierced by a bright light. A figure in Dark red robes walked out.
The spirit fluctuations coming from him was enough to make the hair on any Qi accumulation cultivator stand on edge.
Many of the Shadow sect members suddenly stopped fighting and bowed down their heads to their ancestor who had just come out of seclusion.
The ancestor of the Shadow sect was a middle aged man with black long hair. His eyes were black and sunken and his skin was a little pale. The Shadow sect ancestor only took a quick glance at his sect and in the next second, he rushed right at the Captain.
No exchange of words nothing. The Captain put back his magic ship. Although he was not as fast as the ancestor, he was still very fast.
This made a sharp glint to appear in the Shadow sect ancestor's eye and his speed suddenly increased. They clashed in the next second and a resounding bang that let out shockwaves that even tore the clouds was heard.
The Captain retreated back several feet but an unwavering expression was on his face. Blood rolled down the corner of his mouth but there was no fear, instead only a strange mad glint could be seen.
The Captain raised his sword in the sky and a big blue illusionary sword appeared over his head. Grey could recognize this. It was the same sword that appeared over the figure in Dark gold aura at that time.
The gesture was the same but the energy was different. The dark-gold figures sword gave off a strong sense of domineeringness and nobility of a young master, while the energy the Captain let out was one of icy calm chilliness and cold nonchalance to the world.
The movements and gestures were the same, but the meaning and purpose behind them was different.
When the Shadow sect ancestor saw this, he said in surprise.
"So you comprehended a Sword Dao, impressive! But is that what gave you the courage that you could defeat me!?" The Shadow sect ancestor said, but the Captain did not reply. Instead, his gaze held high and lack of emotion, he slashed down towards the Shadow sect ancestor.
A large roar could be heard as the Shadow sect ancestor and Captain continued to battle. It was a good sign that he was not losing out immediately, but his strength was too weak against the Shadow sect ancestor. It was even a miracle that he was able to put up with this. Fighting another person in a different realm was like breaking the rules if heaven, yet the Captain was doing it.
'This guy is a genius! Are you sure he isn't the main character!? '
"Stronger... I have to get stronger..." With a mad glint in his eyes, Grey looked at the sect elders and sect master who were still in the air.
Their faces were pale and their expressions were full off relief when they saw that their ancestor had arrived. It was obvious that even with their numbers and strength, they could hardly deal with the Captain.
In fact, they had even been fighting with his clones instead of him yet they were exhausted. This went to show just how powerful and out of their league the Captain was.
Suppressing four cultivators each in the perfected level of Qi accumulation, yet they were losing out instead! Isn't that tyrannical!
Grey didn't know what to say and did not even bother to. With a decisive gaze, he locked on to one of the two sect elders in the air and started to run on top of the Shadow sect wall to face him.
He saw some distance away, Ange was also doing the same and was standing on her brown cauldron that flew into the air. Luo was flying towards the sect master instead. A flying talisman was attached to her leg so she met him in mid air and attacked. Reader support at M*VLEM*PYR made this translation possible.
The expression of the Shadow sect master was ugly and he did not hesitate to fight with Luo. Despite her spirit energy fluctuations just being in the seventh level, she had enough power to pose a threat to him.
From the peripheral of his eye, he saw Grey and Ange making their move as well. Each went out to meet a sect elder and begun fighting with fervor and fury.
It seems like the Captain's display of strength had put a fire under their belly to fight as well. Now they could hardly suppress their willingness to fight and rushed out to battle opponents who were much powerful than them. But only when one fought against stronger opponents, could one really grow stronger.
The sect elder watched in shock as Ange brought out a pill refined from one of the Shadow sect members. But this pill was special. This pill was refined from a cultivator in the eight level of Qi accumulation.
The quality would therefore be much more than other's. As Ange put in the pill in her mouth and swallowed, a loud rumbling sound came out from her body.
But Ange didn't stop her attack, the been cauldron was then hurled at the sect elder. The sect elder had a strange expression as he stabbed his forehead.
A shadow slowly crawled out. As this Shadow crawled out, it took the the shape of the sect elder. If one was observant enough, they would have seen that the sect elder's Shadow had disappeared the same time the little Shadow crawled out.
After the Shadow crawled out from the sect elder's forehead, his spirit energy seemed to skyrocket as it reached what could be called the edges of the Qi accumulation realm. But it was not enough to break through.
Ange had a solemn expression on her face as she took two more pills of the eight level and swallowed again.
The rumbling sounds coming from her seemed to be getting louder and before she knew it, an influx of invisible spirit energy began to enter her body.
This influx of spirit energy was in the shape of a vortex over Ange's head. The rumbling sounds continued to get louder and some cracking sounds as well as crackling sounds could be heard. Then a loud bang that resounded in the sect elder's head went off!
Grey who was some distance away, turned his attention to Ange with a somber expression on his face.
Ange had broken through to the next level of Qi accumulation! The seventh level!
In Ange's eyes, a faint light could be seen glimmering in their depths. Ange did not hesitate and rushed out to meet the sect elder in the air. She stuck a flying talisman to her leg as she also flew up to fight him alongside her brown cauldron.
Grey looked at this from the distance and shook his head before spreading out more poison. Some times he didn't even need to fight as his poison killed before he could.
Seeing Ange break through to the seventh level when he was still in the fifth level was frustrating. He felt the power gap between them increased significantly.
"I'll kill you!" A shadow sect cultivator shouted and bit his tongue and spat out blood at Grey. Grey's expression did not even change as he answered bluntly.
"Not interested."
The blood transformed into a shadow and lunged at him, but a faint sword outline could be seen over his head. This sword was illusionary and purple. He had also comprehended a sword art when he was in the corroded zone.
But unlike the dark gold figure's domineering aura, or the Captain's icy chilling aura. His was light and mysterious.
The purple sword over his head let out a shocking bright light and the feeling of oneness assaulted Grey. He didn't know what he felt oneness with, but he knew he felt oneness with something.
At the same time, a faint purple sword appeared in his hand surrounded by dark gold aura. But instead of the wild and domineeringness that the dark gold aura had showed previously, it was calm and docile as the aura enveloped the faint purple sword.
Grey slashed down and the illusionary sword over his head also slashed down towards the Shadow sect cultivator. His purple illusionary sword cut through the lunging Shadow and the cultivator at once. Killing both of them.
Right them, the sect master saw everything and let out a cry.
"He also comprehended a sword art!? Where did you people come from?" With that cry, he kicked Luo away and rushed for Grey.
He felt that if he couldn't kill the Captain, he would kill Grey. After all, they were very similar. But Grey did not seem to bat an eyelid to this and pointed his faint sword to the incoming sect master.
Luo was rushing forth to intercept him but with his eye signal telling her that he would be fine, she stopped mid air and let the sect master clash with Grey.
Grey coughed out a mouthful of blood but unwillingness was on his face. He didn't hesitate to slash the purple sword in his hands again.
The purple sword slashed towards the sect master, but with a complicated expression, he pointed at his chest and his strength and explosive speed suddenly increased.
His skin looked to have been bloated and veins popped out all over his body.
Seeing that Grey would be fine for a while under the siege of the sect master, Luo turned her sights to the sect elder that Grey was fighting before and went to tackle him.
