Violet Vendetta

Chapter 7: Echoes of The PAST

Scene 1 – Restless Night]

The room is dim, shadows stretching across the walls. Raul lies on his bed, his eyes wide open, sleep refusing to claim him. A sudden sound breaks the silence—a faint thump from downstairs. His instincts flare. Grabbing his gun from under the pillow, he moves stealthily, his muscles tense.

Raul: (whispering) "Uninvited guest, huh?"

He approaches her room first, his hand hesitating on the doorknob. He thinks of her—wounded, exhausted from last night's chaos.

Raul: (softly) "Let her rest... I'll handle this."

He moves toward the kitchen, following the soft rustling. The fridge door is wide open, its pale light cutting through the darkness. A shadow shifts.

Raul: (aiming) "Wild cat!"

The figure turns—a spoon halfway to her mouth, cheeks smeared with ice cream. It's her.

Mystery Girl: (muffled) "Mmm?"

Raul's lips curve into a soft chuckle.

Raul: (teasing) "Cute."

He steps forward, his fingers lifting to wipe the ice cream from her cheek. She flinches, realizing—her mask isn't on. Her eyes widen in panic. She starts to retreat, but Raul's arm blocks her path, caging her between him and the fridge.

Raul: (softly) "No mask… Looks like the wild cat has a face after all."

Before she can respond, a low, guttural growl slices through the air. Raul's body stiffens. He spins just in time to see a massive wolf lunging from the shadows. In its leap, the beast snags a red cloth draped over a large portrait. The cloth rips away, revealing the painting beneath.

Her reaction is swift—she yanks Raul down with her, both crashing to the floor. She lands on top of him, her body shielding his from the predator's path.

Her: (commanding) "Stand down! He's not a threat."

The wolf halts instantly, its eyes glowing, nostrils flaring. It retreats into the shadows.

Raul: (blinking) "A wild cat... taming a wild dog. Impressive."

She turns back to him. Their faces—close. Too close. His lips barely an inch from hers. The tension crackles.

Raul: (grinning) "Full mood tonight, huh?"

*She rolls her eyes and tries to push off him—only for her injured leg to slip. She tumbles forward—their lips brush.

Time stops. Her breath hitches. His eyes darken. He flips their positions, his body hovering over hers. There's a smudge of her ice cream on his lip. He licks it off, slow and teasing.

Raul: (husky) "Mint chocolate. Sweeter with your flavor."

A soft blush colors her cheeks—a rare crack in her steel facade.

Raul: (whispers) "You look better without the mask."

Her fluster only lasts a second before she shoves him off, springing up—only to freeze. Her eyes lock on the uncovered portrait. The color drains from her face.

[Scene 2 – The Portrait of the Past]

Raul follows her gaze and feels his heart stop.

A family. A powerful man with a king's aura, a stunning woman with eyes full of warmth, a boy with a gentle smile, and a little girl with a spark of mischief. Beside them—another man, built strong and noble… and a small boy clutching a book, his eyes guarded and shy.

His voice, rough with disbelief:

Raul: (hoarse) "Valentina...?"

Her breath catches, her body rigid. She spins to face him, eyes wide, searching his face.

Valentina: (stammering) "How... How do you know my name?"

Then, his voice—low and raw:

Raul: "Because I'm Raul Vince Rinaldi."

Her world tilts. Her knees weaken. She staggers back, her voice breaking.

Valentina: (shocked) "You... You're..."

Raul: (softly) "Yes. It's me."

Memories hit them like a tidal wave—

---

[Flashback – The Lost Childhood]

A golden time. The Marchese estate, filled with laughter.

Ralph Lorenzo Marchese—the Mafia king. His family, his treasure: Valentina—his fierce little fire. Romeo—his gentle-hearted son. Eveline—his beloved wife. And by his side, Antonio Chris Rinaldi—his brother in loyalty.

And Raul. A shy boy with his books, hidden in shadows—until Valentina found him.

---

[Garden Scene – Young Trio]

Valentina, tiny and fierce, finds Raul alone under a tree.

Valentina: "Hey, bookworm! We're family. Come play with us."

He hides behind his book.

Romeo: (grinning) "C'mon, Raul! The world's too big for just books. We can be best friends."

They tickle him, his laughter breaking free. From that day—three became one. Partners in crime, in joy, in life.

---

[Flashback Turns Dark]

But joy doesn't last.

*A stormy night. Blood. Gunshots. Screams. Their world shatters. The parents—gone.

*Romeo—*shot, his life stolen. Valentina and Raul—orphaned and alone.

Valentina—chased into the forest by the monsters who killed Romeo. She falls—into darkness, waking in a hidden mansion, her father's secret gift. She waits for Raul. But days turn to months. She finds no trace of him.

And Raul—lost, shattered, but alive. Taken from the ruins, he vanishes into a world of survival and vengeance.

---

[Back to the Present – The Vow]

The flashbacks fade. The present sharpens.

Valentina's voice breaks the silence, trembling with emotion.

Valentina: "You… were alive?"

Raul's chest heaves, his voice thick with pain:

Raul: (gritting his teeth) "I had to be. I couldn't die—not without making those monsters pay."

Her fists clutch his shirt, her voice raw and vengeful:

Valentina: "We'll make them beg. For every drop of blood they spilled. For every piece of our hearts they shattered."

His hand tightens around hers, his voice cold as steel:

Raul: "Together."

Their eyes burn with the same fire—of grief, of wrath, of war.

Raul & Valentina (in unison): "We'll avenge them all."
