Chapter 240 Keep going
"Your daughter is very strong, Lily," commented Gabriel as he observed Eleanor's lifeless body. Surprise reflected on his face, especially due to the young girl's final suicidal attack. Despite this, his eyes remained unwavering.
Lily's eyes, reddened by the increasing heat around her, fixated intensely on her younger daughter. Her fists clenched, and her eyes gleamed with pride. A broad smile formed on her lips. She was thrilled, feeling her blood boil at her daughter's display of determination. Around them, the dukes also felt the rising temperature, but it didn't bother them in the slightest.
Draven's red eyes, lost in deep thought, expressed his pride in his son's victory. However, he was surprised by Edward's last-millisecond reaction. The mini-sun created by Eleanor could have killed his son if he hadn't reacted in time, using the earth from the ground to shield himself and increase its thickness and durability. "What a powerful ability," he thought to himself.
Even Edward's physique had suffered damage, causing him to clench his fists. He remembered the moments when he himself had engaged in such battles with his classmates, especially with Athena, Gabriel, and Noah. Draven also paid close attention to the younger generation and was pleased with what he saw. He glanced at Athena, whose eyes also sparkled.
He recalled when his son had told him that Athena was training with two other students.
Athena mentally nodded, "Eleanor is very strong. I'll take her as my disciple," she thought to herself.

Emily calmly looked at the girl in front of her, drawing her sword calmly while her red eyes never stopped focusing on the girl with black hair and gray eyes. The sword Emily had chosen had a beautiful translucent silver shimmer, with a black hilt adorned with blue crystals. Her delicate hands gripped it firmly.
On the other hand, Alicia was filled with excitement. She drew her own sword, eager to finally have the chance to fight after several days without facing anyone else. She was always late, and this situation had frustrated her immensely. She knew that her father, mother, and brother's eyes were on them, adding great pressure on her shoulders.
However, Alicia decided not to let those thoughts bother her. She remembered her father's words: "Remember, Alicia, in defeat there is also victory. From defeats, one learns, flaws are seen, and things done wrong are identified. Learn from it and improve. Also, learn from your peers and allow them to learn from you. That's the most important thing about this event."
Inspired by these words, Alicia filled herself with determination, feeling her eyes shine with emotion. She looked at her childhood friend, Emily, and could discern that she too was very excited for the confrontation. Although Alicia knew that Emily was stronger than her, this only motivated her even more. She observed the calm gaze of Emily's red eyes, mentally preparing herself for the challenge.
Alicia's sword was thinner and slightly longer than Emily's blade, but that wouldn't stop her in her determination to give her best in the upcoming battle.
The two stared at each other for a few seconds, with an intense energy palpable in the air. Emily's eyes shone brightly as she moved her feet slightly, disappearing from the spot in the blink of an eye. Alicia reacted quickly, moving her sword in response. Her gray eyes saw a transparent blade approaching, and she raised her sword, feeling a slight tremble in her hands.
In the midst of the forest shadows, two red rubies shone intensely, fixing on Alicia. Without hesitation, she moved her feet, taking five steps in barely a second. Swinging her sword, she let her gray mana flow from her body and fill her weapon. On the other hand, Emily frowned, allowing her own mana to flow through her veins, manifesting in a thin dark blue aura emanating from her body.
Her eyes and hair turned the same shade, preparing for the showdown.
With a precise flick of her wrist, Emily intercepted Alicia's attack. In response, Alicia increased the mana flow in her body even more, and her appearance changed. Her black hair and gray eyes transformed, turning white and blue respectively, while her hair took on a pure white hue.
An explosion of energy, accompanied by the metallic clash of their swords, echoed throughout the forest, marking the beginning of an intense battle to the death between the two friends.

Edward spent a whole day resting and replenishing his mana reserves, observing with a furrowed brow the makeshift bandages on his body. Carefully, he removed them slowly, revealing healthy and smooth skin. He was completely healed, and he nodded satisfied with himself. It had taken him time, but he had finally managed to heal completely.
Cautiously, he surveyed his surroundings from atop a tree, where he was resting and treating his wounds with medicinal plants. He extended his senses but didn't detect any presence within a 50-meter radius from his position. He looked down, contemplating the height of the tree, which reached about 30 meters, and decided to descend. As he did, he created a slight crater in the ground beneath his feet.
With determination, he began to move towards the center of the island. He consulted the map and noticed that the size of the island had decreased, but he still intended to head to the center. However, he decided not to go there directly right away. Instead, he chose to stay in a nearby location and wait a few more days.
He knew that the center of the island would become a gathering point for all the students over time, making it a much more dangerous place to venture into too soon.

Anthony got up and started stretching calmly, showing a tranquil expression. He had spent all his time sleeping and was very satisfied with that. To him, it had been like a little vacation. He pulled out the map indifferently and noticed that the island was now smaller than before.

After a few minutes, he detected some presences approaching his location. He sighed, but was consoled by the thought that they would be easy to kill without making too much noise. With that certainty in mind, his body vanished into the darkness of the cave, leaving the place silent once again.
