Chapter 33
Extra Case File 33 The Encouraging Flower
Originally, Yu, who had been spurred by TIMEFIRE to rebel and summoned the courage to stand on her own, found that she was unable to do so. Her mindset was like someone standing on the edge of a cliff, their heart swaying to and fro—it could fall into the bottomless abyss with just one gust of wind.
When Yu hoped that Ayush would help, he gave her a final push down the well with sarcasm. Yu’s heart plummeted like falling into an abyss.
“Yu?”
The sound of Hanabi’s voice gradually brought Yu back from her despondency. She straightened her bent back, lifting her head which had previously been lowered.
“Yu, it’s me—me!”
Hanabi’s vibrant voice seemed to revive Yu from her despair.
“Hanabi…,” Yu managed a bitter smile through her oppressive mood. “I’m sorry that you saw me in such a clumsy manner. This truly…”
“Come on, Yu! What are you saying?” Hanabi covered her calloused palm over Yu’s hand. “Everyone has moments they can’t do it. Like me, always making big or small mistakes, and nearly going bankrupt recently from failed investments.”
“It’s impossible to not make mistakes or fall. The key is how you recover and get back up. That’s the secret to my happy life!”
Look at me. No matter what difficulties come, even when I almost died that day, isn’t there always someone to save me? Just like me, who can only do the Precure job—anyone can overcome difficulties if they have that spirit!
“I’m sorry, little Hanabi.” Yu thought of Ayush’s words and shook her head. “I don’t know how to get up… Even that renowned doctor said the same thing.”
“What an absurd thing to say!”
She couldn’t stop blaming Ayush. At this moment, Hanabi recalled his strange solution after hearing her affirmative response.
“You see, TV shows often depict this: for a friend in trouble, the protagonist can rise again despite circumstances through sheer willpower. Sometimes they might even break through to a new form!”
“If your relationship is that close, then just show me in crisis. Maybe this blonde guy will rise through sheer will!”
‘See, like this.’
At that moment, Ayush knelt and grabbed Hanabi’s ankle, swinging her upside down before she could react. Hanabi flailed like a chick, emitting humiliated cries.
Remembering this scene, Hanabi felt embarrassed and a headache coming on.
Really, believing in these intangible theories as a doctor—he shook his head when first hearing that. Even now, he disagreed.
In practical terms, Hanabi finds this method flawed, but no better ideas came to mind.
“Yu should display her former strength, proving to Ayush that an incurable illness can be cured by sheer human spirit!”
Hanabi’s conflicted heart wavered like a scale hanging uncertainly.
“Why strive so hard? This is my problem!” Yu’s outburst interrupted her thoughts, causing a shock.
Certainly, you’re disappointed, Hanabi, so you encourage me. Before, though, compared to flight attendant Saya and pianist Himizuki, I, the most troubled among us, should be the one cheering you up. Is that…
too much, Hanabi?
“I’m different from that Prcure who protected the world for eight years,” Yu said somberly, causing Hanabi to visibly tremble without either noticing.
“I’m not as strong. I can’t fight enemies or step forward bravely… I can’t do it!”
So, don’t worry about such a me anymore!
You finally became happier recently, so continue living happily! Don’t come closer to make me feel inferior. You might catch some unfortunate vibes too!
“Clang—”
A clear chime resounded in Hanabi’s heart, resonating throughout.
Her wavering heart settled onto the left pan, tipping the balance.
“Not like that,” Hanabi said calmly, pulling Yu from despair. “Cure Yell wasn’t always that strong.”
“She must have cried many times, felt wronged and wanted to give up.”
With serene and determined confidence, Hanabi began to tell Yu “her” story.
“There were always things that made her dry her tears and start over, allowing her to keep fighting all along.”
“Surely, and I believe Yu also wants to help others. At least in this aspect, she shares similarity with me.”
How did you know? Even without words, Yu’s expression revealed everything.
She didn’t say it because the energetic Hanabi encouraged her with an innocent smile.
“This isn’t about Precure’s ability; it’s simply because I like you as a friend. I want to help and see your smile again. That’s all!”
After this argument, which wasn’t logical, Yu’s mouth involuntarily gaped open, staring at Hanabi as though she had infinite words yet could not speak a single one.
