Villain With The Strongest System

Chapter 320: Floor 24

"Open System Shop" Rocky muttered under his breath, as after researching Floor 24 non-stop for a few hours, Rocky decided that it was finally time for him to buy some of the items available in the system store for purchase.

As usual, the system panel appeared before his eyes, showing his SP balance refreshed at 30.

Furthermore, the shop had a wide variety of unseen items this time, with a blatant theme catered towards dealing with illusions.

As Rocky studied the items, he grew increasingly confident in his theory that the Gemini Gods were personally refreshing the system shop after each of his floor runs to give him the best possible odds of survival. The items he purchased always seemed to be exactly what he needed in critical moments, reinforcing his belief that the system shop was, for now, his greatest asset—a kind of cheat code allowing him to adapt quickly to any situation.

After thorough consideration, Rocky carefully selected his purchases from this latest batch, basing each choice on his research and the specific threats he anticipated on Floor 24. He decided to buy the Perception Lens for 15 SP first, reasoning that the ability to see through illusions would be invaluable against the deceptive landscape of this floor.

Next, he chose to buy two Mind Guard Elixirs for 10 SP, looking out for his teammates.

Knowing that illusions often targeted the mind, he wanted both Buhara and Erin to have protection against mental manipulations as although he had faith in himself and Kronos holding their own, he did not have similar faith in Erin and Buhara when facing mental challenges.

Hence he purchased these potions to ensure that his teammates had a better chance to hold their own if illusions tried to mislead them.

Finally, with 5 SP remaining, Rocky opted to buy three Basic Illusion Dispel Stones at 1 SP each, reasoning that these stones would provide a quick solution for any minor illusions he or his team might encounter in critical moments.

And with his last 2 SP, Rocky purchased a Night Vision Charm, mindful of the risk that any team member might be separated from Erin incase of an unforeseen scenario.

Having this potion with himself would ensure that even if he or someone else with him got isolated without Erin and a light source, they wouldn't be left vulnerable in the shadows and would be able to make their way through.

Satisfied with his choices, Rocky felt prepared to face the trials of Floor 24, confident that his chosen items would keep him and his team one step ahead of whatever illusions awaited them.

( A couple days later )

A couple days later, with barely any rest, the team was forced to go on yet another Tower Run, this time to floor 24 which was a world covered with ghouls, formless souls and never-ending darkness.

And immediately upon their arrival onto the floor, they were given the most absurd of missions by the floor master.

Asked to retrieve a 'Death Crystal' from one of the strongest necromancers living locally on the floor, the team were put on a collision course against a tier5 being that was much stronger than themselves yet again.

"Man… I swear these floor administrators seem to have some grudge against us, because, if not…. I can't understand why they would give us such impossible missions!" Kronos complained, as he did not feel happy about the mission at all.

"Buhara agrees, no other adventurer party faces as much danger as we do on every floor…. It's clear discrimination–" Buhara complained, as Rocky grit his teeth in anger.

Somewhere deep down, Rocky knew that the reason behind his team getting such dangerous missions had to be him, however, it pissed him nonetheless, that the odds were always stacked against them.

"Thankfully, the mission doesn't specify that we must kill the necromancer, which means that we can try to sneak in and steal the crystal too…." Erin said, trying to find a silver lining in this grim situation, as he tried to liven up the situation as best as he could.

"How do you even kill a necromancer? Those guys are long dead, no?" Kronos asked, scratching his head, as to him necromancers were already dead beings that had no soul, but just a husk of a physical form.

However, he was just confusing necromancers with undead liches, who were actually dead and just summoned to the physical world via dark magic.

"No you're wrong, actually—" Erin began, trying to clear Kronos's doubt, however, Rocky cut him mid sentence.

"Actually, it doesn't matter if the necromancer is dead or alive.

If he's alive, we kill him.

If he's dead, we make him more dead than he already is.

Regardless, our goal remains the same, so let's get a move" Rocky instructed, as not wanting to waste any time on pointless banter, he got the team to start on the floors quest at once.
