Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT)

Chapter 614: I love you

Hearing that she was dead, Xiang Yu wasn't too pleased. She wanted her to suffer horribly, the type of suffering that would be imprinted so deeply in her soul that she would carry the agony in the next world.

Realising what he was thinking, the Divine Emperor said, "She suffered, far more than she suffered in the previous worlds."

He wasn't lying. What Han Xin subjected her to was the type of punishment only subjected to divine immortals. Not even they could withstand it let alone Peng Xiu. After witnessing his son execute that punishment, he realised how ruthless his son could be.

He didn't have anything in common with his son but now he realised Han Xin inherited his ruthless and merciless nature. It had just been buried too deep all these years.

Xiang Yu's expression relaxed. At least now, he thought, they could spend the rest of their time in this world at peace. He wanted nothing more than to have a good time with his lover before the slate got wiped clean again.

"Okay then, I will be heading back," he said, his voice steady.

The Divine Emperor nodded, a knowing look in his ancient eyes. "Just so you know," he began, his tone shifting slightly, "I repaired your father's soul fragments. I will have him talking about who sent him soon. Should I keep his soul intact, so you can speak to him?"

In an instant, Xiang Yu's cheerful smile vanished. A coldness enveloped his features, hardening his resolve. "No," he replied, each word sharp and clear. "Put him back where you found him."

The Divine Emperor held his silence. He understood the hatred that ignited within Xiang Yu. It was justified, fierce, and real. He had no argument against it.

"Oh, and that woman," Xiang Yu continued, a fierce glint in his eyes. "I still want her soul, reborn or not." With that, he turned away, stepping back into the current world, his vision fading into darkness.

When Xiang Yu opened his eyes again, he found himself in a familiar place. The light of the day poured in, soft and warm. His gaze settled on Han Xin, who looked at him with concern, eyes wide and searching. He looked like a neglected hamster, so sad and pitiful.

"Yu Yu," Han Xin said softly, relief flooding his voice.

Nearby, Lian and Mei sat cross-legged, happily eating yoghurt and fruit. Their conversation drifted through the air, light and playful. Little Bai was gleefully digging into a pile of grilled meat, the aroma filling the space.

Han Zhan watched Little Bai with curiosity, his head tilted as if trying to understand how someone so small could eat so much. It was unbelievable.

Little Bai's insatiable hunger was fueled by his zombie mutated gene. This meant that he would always seek out meat whenever it was available.

Without warning, Han Xin grabbed Xiang Yu's hand and pulled him toward the other room. The sudden movement startled Xiang Yu, but he followed without hesitation.

"Don't take too long you lovebirds!" Lian called out, a teasing smile on her face.

"Yeah, eggs don't taste good cold!" Mei chimed in, giggling.

Xiang Yu shot them an incredulous look, caught between embarrassment and annoyance.

Once inside the room, Han Xin quickly shut the door and pressed Xiang Yu against the wall. The sudden intimacy made Xiang Yu's heart race. "What—" he started, then fell silent.

Han Xin's fingers gently caressed Xiang Yu's cheek. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and filled with concern.

Xiang Yu blinked, taken aback by the tenderness in Han Xin's touch. "I am okay, why?"

The fragility in Han Xin's voice cut through him. "I called you so many times, and you wouldn't wake up." His expression was strained, a brittle edge threatening to break. Xiang Yu could see the turmoil behind Han Xin's eyes. He felt a pang of guilt.

Earlier, Han Xin had been so anxious that he struggled to keep it in check. The twins had assured him that Xiang Yu was fine, but it did nothing to dispel his fear.

Xiang Yu looked into Han Xin's eyes, trying to offer comfort with his voice. "You don't have to worry," he said gently. "If they say I am fine, then you shouldn't stress too much."

Han Xin heaved a sigh, but it was not one of relief. It was laced with frustration. He couldn't quite comprehend why this feeling churned inside him. Fear of losing Xiang Yu gripped him, an overwhelming weight that he struggled to carry.

Without thinking, Han Xin wrapped his arms around Xiang Yu's waist. His fingers curled tightly around the fabric of Xiang Yu's shirt. It felt grounding. He rested his head against Xiang Yu's shoulder, almost pouting in silent protest. He still couldn't fathom why he felt this way.

As he breathed in the scent of plumeria that emanated from Xiang Yu, something in him began to calm. The familiar fragrance washed over him like a soft wave, easing his tumultuous heart.

Xiang Yu glanced down at Han Xin, watching the way his hair fell softly against his face. His fingers moved instinctively, stroking through the strands with gentle tenderness. They felt so soft beneath his touch.

"I am sorry that I worried you," Xiang Yu said, the sincerity in his voice evident.

Han Xin replied in a muffled voice, his face still pressed against Xiang Yu's shoulder. "No, it's not your fault. It's a me problem."

Xiang Yu smiled, a warm feeling spreading through him as he hugged Han Xin closer. There was something comforting about their embrace, a quiet understanding that wrapped around them like a protective shield.

Han Xin hugged him back with a fierceness born from his worries, and then whispered softly, "I love you."

Xiang Yu felt a warmth bloom in his chest at those words, a gentle light that chased away the lingering shadows. Looking into Han Xin's eyes, he replied, "I love you too."

The two of them continued to embrace, the warmth of their connection wrapping around them like a soft blanket. The atmosphere was rich with unspoken feelings, a romantic bubble that felt safe and perfect.

Just then, a gentle knock interrupted the moment. "Master, if you don't come out now, Uncle Zhan will finish everything!" Mei called from the other side of the door.

Han Zhan's voice thundered in response, "You brat! You sure know how to hurt people's feelings? Ha, Uncle where?"

Lian chimed in, her laughter clear and bright. "That's what offended you?"

"I'm a tall, bulky man! I need to eat!" Han Zhan rebutted, defensively.

"Yes yes, Uncle!" Mei said, her tone teasing.

Xiang Yu and Han Xin exchanged amused glances, their moment of intimacy giving way to the lighthearted banter echoing from outside the door.

"We should go eat," Han Xin suggested, reluctantly pulling back from their embrace. "You must be hungry."

"Yeah, especially after all that work last night," Xiang Yu whispered, a smirk playing on his lips as he turned to walk out.

Han Xin arched his brows, a puzzled look crossing his face. For a moment he couldn't understand what Xiang Yu was talking about. "What work? I don't even remember."

It didn't take him long, though, to realise what he was talking about. "Baby, stop teasing me!" Han Xin exclaimed, reaching over to hug Xiang Yu's waist again. The playful gesture quickly turned mischievous as his hand intentionally brushed against Xiang Yu's butt, groping it lightly.

Xiang Yu shot him a knowing glance, a seductive smile curving his lips. It was playful yet inviting, and Han Xin felt himself getting lost in the moment, his heart racing. The way Xiang Yu looked at him stole his breath and sent sparks of heat through him.
