Veil of Reincarnation: The System Wants Me To Seduce The Alpha King

Chapter 4: Drive the force in her favour

Katherine sat straight in her bed.

"What do you mean my first task is completed?" She looked at the system that appeared right in front of her.

"You made the Prince turn around to look at you and piqued his curiosity. You instigated a mysterious feeling inside him for yourself. That's why your first task is completed," The system explained, and Katherine, though confused, nodded vaguely.

She stood from her place and walked to the mirror to see if there was any improvement in her so-called charisma and to gaze at her body properly too.

To say she was surprised would be an understatement.

Katherine always had a thing for beautiful eyes, and seeing Delilah's honey-colored eyes with a slightly reddish tone, she didn't know what to say.

These eyes now belonged to her.

She untied her hair and looked at the long hair that cascaded down her shoulders to her chest and then to her abdomen, she beamed at the lustrous volume and grinned, satisfactorily before her smile turned solemn.

'What have you really gone through to abandon such a beautiful pair of eyes and body, Delilah?' Katherine whispered to herself, touching her cheeks.

"It's okay. I shall provide you justice and punish all those people who treated you badly. As much as unfortunate it was for you, I am slightly grateful that I was given this second chance, and I am going to cherish it. Rest assured, I will make them pay before going on my vengeance hunt," Katherine made a promise to the beautiful eyes that were staring right back at her with a sigh.

'You are talking like you are looking at the body of a goddess,' The system commented, and Katherine hummed.

'Isn't it? I roughened my body last time, not caring for it. I would go on missions without tending to my wounds, leaving everlasting scars, but this time I won't do anything like that. This might not be the body of a goddess, but I will treat it like one," Katherine smiled happily before she went to take a relaxing bath.

After taking her relaxing shower and admiring her new unscarred body a bit too much than needed, she dressed like Delilah used to, adding a few changes for herself to aid good movement and a bit complimenting her beauty.

Rather than putting her hair up in a bun, she let her hair loose and parted on the left side before using a small clip to keep it from falling on her face again and again.

Once ready, Katherine stepped out of her room.

She wasn't really a maid here.

She was sent here with Tianna just so that she didn't feel too lonely and Delilah could take care of her sister if she needed any kind of support.

And since she wasn't a maid, she wasn't planning on staying like one anymore, uselessly being looked down upon by everyone.

No more disgrace shall fall on Delilah's image. Katherine nodded at herself.

As she started walking towards the main hall, she felt people whispering about her, and the more she walked, her brows furrowed.

'She jumped from the cliff,'

'Just because the commander rejected her?'

'Youngsters these days can't take a little pain and hurt,'

'What drama!'

She didn't like how people were talking about her.

The psycho side of her soul that didn't like being the center of attention and used to snap at people if anyone made her uncomfortable in the past, started to take over her slowly, and her gaze started to darken.

She turned around, plastering a fake smile on her face.

"Is something bothering you?" She asked a random maid, stepping forward.

"What? Why would something bother me? I was just saying that it's amazing how you made it out alive even when falling from that cliff," The maid said, and the other maids who were doing their work in different corners walked towards them.

Katherine smirked at the maid, surprising her.

"I know, right? Shouldn't this be enough of an indication that I am Satan's spawn and no one can really kill me?" Katherine stepped forward, almost touching the maid's chest with hers.

It helped that the maid was a few inches shorter than her.

The maid looked at the girl in front of her with wide eyes.

These eyes, these eyes that are always so kind and soft, how come they were so intimidating today?

The maid gulped and looked at her friends who were looking at her. She didn't want to lose in front of a suicidal girl who got rejected recently, and thus, the maid stepped up her game.

"Are you threatening me? Don't forget your place, Delilah!" The maid raised his voice.

Katherine's smirk widened as she bent slightly to whisper into the maid's ears.

'Katherine, you are not supposed to mess up Delilah's soft image like this and make the prince hate you,' The system reminded her like a warning announcement, and Katherine rolled her eyes inwardly.

'I won't. Leave things to me now. I shall complete my task,' Katherine assured the system.

"Am I threatening you?" Katherine tugged the maid's hair behind her ears before tilting her face to look into the maid's eyes.

"How can I? How can I try to threaten such a beautiful lady?" Katherine's smirk turned into a soft enchanting and apologetic smile, and the maid's heart skipped a beat at her doe eyes.

"I... I..." If the maid wasn't caught off guard earlier, she was definitely caught off-guard this time.

Her cheeks turned red as she gulped, looking around at the loss of words.

"I was just joking earlier. Actually, I am sorry for worrying you guys about me. I know what I did was really unacceptable. There is no explanation for it. It was really cowardly of me to run from my problems. So what if I don't have parents to care for me or friends to share my feelings with, I made such beautiful young ladies around me who care so much for me. I truly apologize for the worry I made you guys go through," Katherine bowed in front of all the maids, making them even more awkward than before.

The maids looked at the girl as if she had grown two heads.

They knew that Delilah was a soft-spoken girl from the beginning, and she never liked any kind of drama. Thus, seeing her apologizing to them like this even when she wasn't at fault, their motherly and sisterly instincts were instigated, not to mention she looked a little extra charismatic today.

"Hey, you don't have to apologize for something like that. We all get frustrated at some point in life. Besides, what that commander did was really awful. How could he make fun of you? That was truly inhumane," The maid said and placed her hand on her shoulders.

"No. It's not. It's all my fault. I shouldn't be thinking like that. I should know my place and keep low," Katherine whispered, hugging herself vulnerably.

"Don't say things like that,"

"Why do you say you have no one to care for? You can always turn to us. You are one of the guests who never treated us wrongly. We know you are too soft-hearted, and that's why people take advantage of your goodwill,"

"You can come to us if you feel any issues,"

"That's right. All you did was take lunch for the commander. If he didn't like it, he should've said it. What was the need to cause such a blunder? The more I think of it, the more I despise him,"

The thoughts of the maids immediately changed, and Katherine smiled inwardly.

"You are such angel hearts. Thank you for saying these sweet words to me," Katherine placed her hand on her face as if hiding her tears, and the maids immediately gathered around her to comfort her.

The devil system inside her looked at the girl who drove the force in her favor with a few sentences and didn't know what to think of her.

Maybe this time, the candidate they gave her was a bit too meticulous and powerful. Then again, what did she expect from the leader of the Nocturnal Spy team?

The system's gaze shifted towards the third floor of the palace where the Young Prince and Elder Prince's secretary were standing, witnessing the scene.

"This girl has been quite the talk of the people for a couple of days," The Young Prince said, a smirk on his face.

The mysterious man turned to him with quirked brows.

"How are things going with your fiance? When has the ceremony been arranged?" The mysterious man asked, his voice neutral and deep.

"Don't ask me about that. The elders are still pondering over the right date. They have called the alpha for the discussion this week. Will my brother join the ceremony?" Prince Elwin looked at the man beside him, who didn't say anything, turned around, and left, making the prince sigh.

His brother was really hard to get a hold of.
