VEIL OF DESTINY :THE HIDDEN HEIR ASSERT

Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Shadows Move in the Dark

The city never slept. Neon lights flickered as sirens howled in the distance, but the true war was unfolding in the places unseen—the underground, the boardrooms, the hidden corners where power shifted with a single command.

Ochieng sat in a dimly lit penthouse overlooking the skyline. The scent of expensive whiskey lingered in the air, but he wasn't drinking. He was waiting.

Magdalene stood beside him, her sharp eyes scanning the documents spread across the table. "Lucian will retaliate harder. That ambush was just a test. They'll come at you from angles you don't expect."

Ochieng smirked. "Let them. I want them desperate."

A soft knock at the door.

Tielen stepped in, her face unreadable. "We have a problem."

---

At a high-end casino owned by the Titans, a secret meeting was taking place.

Veronica DuPont swirled her wine, watching the man across from her with amusement. "So, you think he's unbeatable?"

The man—Khalid, one of Ochieng's supposed loyalists—hesitated before speaking. "He's careful, but everyone has a weakness. I know how to hurt him."

Veronica leaned forward. "Then let's make a deal."

---

Hours later, Ochieng and his team arrived at an abandoned shipping yard, following an anonymous tip.

Ronan surveyed the area, his instincts screaming that something was wrong. "It's too quiet."

A second later—BOOM!

Explosions ripped through the air. Fire engulfed the containers as bullets rained down from hidden snipers.

It was a trap.

Ochieng didn't hesitate. He grabbed Magdalene and rolled behind cover. "We need to split up! Find out who set this up!"

Amidst the chaos, he spotted a familiar face—Khalid, standing with the enemy.

Rage flickered in Ochieng's eyes. "So, this is how you play?"

The war had just escalated.

And now… Ochieng was out for blood.
