VEIL OF DESTINY :THE HIDDEN HEIR ASSERT

Chapter 49: Chapter 49 – The King Who Stands Alone

The battlefield was silent.

The warriors who had once charged at Ochieng without hesitation now stood frozen.

Their eyes, once filled with battle-lust, now trembled with an emotion they had never thought they'd feel—fear.

One man.

One warrior.

And yet, he had crushed their strongest like mere insects.

The leader of the remaining warriors clenched his fists. His voice shook as he stepped forward.

"He's just one man! He bleeds like we do! Kill him, and the trial continues!"

But deep down…

He didn't believe his own words.

Because the truth was clear.

Ochieng was not a man.

He was a force.

---

The hesitation faded. A thousand warriors surged forward once more.

But this time…

Ochieng didn't move.

He simply lifted his hand.

A low hum filled the air. The very ground beneath him shook as golden veins spread out from his feet.

The warriors felt it immediately—their bodies slowed.

Their strength faded.

Their very souls trembled.

One by one, weapons slipped from their hands.

They collapsed to their knees, their faces pale.

"W-what is this?!"

The golden-robed elders, watching from above, exchanged glances.

One of them murmured, "Impossible… that power… it is… the Blood Suppression."

Their leader's eyes darkened.

"He carries the true royal bloodline."

---

Ochieng didn't attack.

He didn't need to.

He walked forward, hands in his pockets, as the once-proud warriors bowed before him, unable to resist.

Their bodies betrayed them. Their souls recognized him.

The rightful heir.

The King.

A storm brewed in the sky. Lightning cracked.

Ochieng raised his gaze.

"Is this enough?" His voice was calm, but it carried the weight of thunder.

The golden-robed elder at the center chuckled.

"More than enough."

He lifted his hand.

At once, the golden city shifted.

The battlefield vanished, replaced by a grand temple.

Ochieng stood before a massive throne, carved from the bones of ancient beasts, its armrests embedded with countless gemstones.

Above it, golden words shimmered in the air:

"The Throne of the Forgotten King."

The elder's voice echoed:

"Sit upon it… if you dare."

Ochieng smirked.

"I never hesitate."

He took a step forward—

And the entire realm shook.
