Chapter 1480: Dispelling The Nightmare And Back To The Dwarven Capital
-----
Everyone quickly reached the capital, right in front of the castle, as they entered with Alberta, they saw many people wandering around confused, some talking and others laughing or feeling relieved.
There were also a lot of people screaming in the streets, some still unable to believe they were back to reality, thinking it was still a dream.
"I-Is that Princess Alberta?"
"Wait, is this not a dream then?"
"What's going on?!"
"Did we free ourselves from the nightmare?"
"But who… what's going on?"
Servants, nobles, and more talked with one another, causing quite a lot of ruckus as they looked at Blake's party making their way through the castle, until they reached the throne room, where the guards that had just woken up didn't even stop them from stepping forward.
And then, in the middle of the throne room, there was, sitting over his throne, a bulky old gnome with a long gray beard, a golden crown with colorful jewels, and wearing golden armor, and an axe.
It seemed he was in the middle of a battle against the nightmare before he was taken over by the dark fog, the same was with the queen and the other nobles.
The queen looked a lot like Alberta, with brown skin unlike the king who had white skin, she had red hair and sharp green eyes.
Both were shocked to suddenly find themselves back to reality, and fully healed at that!
What's more, with their daughter miraculously appearing right in front of them out of nowhere…
"A-Alberta?!"
Both gasped in disbelief after seeing her, as Alberta ran towards her parents, whom she detested, and hugged them both while in tears.
"Mother! Father! I'm so happy you're alright…! I was so worried!"
Her father and her mother were speechless, without knowing if this was another dream or reality… they had been in that nightmare for just a few days, but to them it felt like months.
"Is this real?"
"What's happening, dear?"
Both looked around, noticing Blake and the rest of his friends. Blake thought about saying something, but Cattalina and Helene patted his shoulders, deciding to speak up instead.
It made sense, he was a complete stranger to them who had never seen him, but these two were recognized worldwide as powerful witches that had fought against the Demon Invasion for decades.
"King Hellburn, we have succeeded on freeing you from the nightmare," Cattalina said.
"We were able to destroy the black fog and the nightmare realm within it," Helene explained. "And with the help of the Summoner and the young Heroes, we defeated the Archdemon behind this, Belphegor."
"You've been freed from the nightmare! All thanks to their efforts, your daughter was the one that convinced the Summoner and the Heroes to come as well, as she is their dear friend," Cattalina explained.
"I-I see…!" the king nodded. "Impressive, to think such a thing had happened… I am left without words…"
"I… Alberta… you went so far for us?" the Queen asked. "Even when we treated you so harshly all this time, you still tried to help us?"
"Yeah, but of course I did!" Alberta said. "At the end of the day, you're my parents… And this is my homeland. Uncle Hellburn is back in the coast city with the other nobles that escaped and notified us, we'll bring them along right away!"
"I see…" the king sighed. "To think we exiled you before, only for you to come back as a Hero, and one that saved our lives- no, the entire Kingdom's lives… I am… ashamed as a father, I wronged you, Alberta. And… not just now, but I have been thinking about you for a while now, since you left."
"Eh? R-Really?" Alberta was moved, as she heard her father's heartfelt words.
"Yeah…" her mother nodded. "We have been missing you this entire time, thinking about you almost every day. We were pressured by the nobles, and we ended up acting rashly. Your absence had made us realize how important you were to our lives…"
"Mom… dad…" Alberta started crying, as she hugged her parents again, and they happily hugged her as well.
"Well… that ended really well," Chris said with a smile. "I guess they weren't as bad as she said… haha."
"Hmm… She's lucky to have her father around," Elfriedden sighed. "Not many had the same luck…"
"Elfriedden…" Erdrich muttered. "Cheer up, at least we finally managed to stop a great catastrophe from happening and worsening… barely in time."
"It's good that we came as quickly as we could…" Patricia said. "Ahh, I am still a bit shocked we just slain Belphegor, he was such an intimidating figure in the cult…"
"Was he? Pff, Satan and Mammon were much more intimidating," Erdrich shrugged.
"S-So you're the heroes… Ahem!" the King quickly went back to his more dignified and stoic appearance, cleaning his tears. "Thank you so much for helping us! The Dwarven Kingdom of Hellburn will be forever in debt with all of you! Please, would you introduce yourselves individually? We would all like to know you more."
"Yes, please! And if you're Alberta's friends, then even more!" the queen nodded, clapping happily. "Ah, whom of you is the summoner?"
"I am," Blake said. "You can rest assured that your people is now healed and Belphegor's threat is done… however, there may still be cultists lurking around. I've already sent my Vampire Spirits to take care of them."
"Cultists… so was this all their doing?" the King asked.
"Yeah," Blake said. "They most likely set up a formation to create the black fog and channeled Belphegor's powers into this place. There's no doubt about it; the fog doesn't simply appear out of nowhere. Demonic Cultists are the ones helping the Archdemons reach our world."
"Dammit! We've lowered our guards this entire time… we grew too conceited with our peaceful country!" the King groaned angrily. "Thank you once more… without you, our foolishness would have been our end. And I thank you, my daughter, for coming heroically to our rescue despite everything… you've earned yourself the throne. Once you are older and we cannot keep things up enough, I would gladly give you the crown."
