Vampire Revenge: Blood, Sex & Violence

Chapter 4: 4

Unlike Lakan, who had been, like me, the only survivor of the first fishing village attacked by the werewolves when they arrived at the island now known as Ireland. Dadan and Jarka were a couple who narrowly survived the next attack, Melwez however did not survive alone, some of his people from a large village, perhaps one of the largest there were, also survived, although wounded and mutilated, he did not speak of them, but we could sense that the way he had looked at the master the first night that he held a deep grudge against him.

Only I had the memories of the master mixing in my mind, but in which the image of Melwez begging for the lives of the wounded while the master beheaded them while saying that he was being merciful to them passed through my head.

We reached them a few kilometers from another village, they looked like hunting dogs running at an infernal speed towards their next victims. Lakan was the one who had gotten used to the new powers the most, and he was also the oldest of us in life, as well as an excellent warrior and chief of his village, so he took on the role of leader.

We cut across a river at a ford that only the natives could know, so we were able to intercept them even though they were faster than us. But they smelled us from afar, the six werewolves stood frozen as the alpha began to howl and changed direction towards us, the pack followed him as if they were reading his mind, opening their formation around us to attack our flanks.

Lakan carried a wooden shield and a stone axe with a silver-plated head, the first of the werewolves crashed into the shield, destroying it with its claws. Despite being thrown more than six meters by the werewolf's attack, the head of the axe managed to make an ugly cut on one of the front legs. He rolled on the ground to get up but another of those beings was already jumping on him to help his wounded companion, only the expert movements of the axe with that deadly metal for werewolves managed to keep him from being knocked down, and killed by the two lycanthropes who now planned to act in unison.

Dadan with his spear and silver dagger managed to keep the werewolf who tried to attack him at bay, but Jarka was not a good hunter or warrior, despite having a broad sword that she held with both hands, the first blow from her enemy tore off her arm.

The blood that should have flowed out in jets formed a mist that came out uncontrollably from the woman's body. But she was not dead, she could not die, she was a vampire even if she was a neophyte, her heart was no longer beating, she would not die from that wound. The open mouth with large fangs was about to close on the woman's neck when she disappeared into the shadows to reappear a few meters behind.

However, despite being saved from danger, Dadan reacted to protect her, neglecting his enemy and launching a furious charge against the other werewolf. But that was his downfall, his enemy caught him in mid-leap, his jaws ripped out half of his guts, and another cloud of blood dispersed into the air. Jarka's attacker did not miss the opportunity and jumped on top of Dadan's body, tearing off his head. The two wolves began to eat him alive.

At one point I thought Jarka would run to help him, but instead she fled using that strange power of hers that made her disappear. But I didn't have time to wonder what would happen, now we were really screwed, the first of my rivals that night approached from the right, jumping on top of me, or rather, I sensed that that is what that wild beast was going to do, I rolled to the ground in time to raise my silver-plated sword.

The blade slashed the werewolf's belly, scattering all of his entrails over me, but the worst was the smell of burnt flesh that came from the wound. The creature howled in pain and fell to the ground, trying to get up on all fours, but in those seconds I had already stabbed him again, going through his body from his own ass to God knows what organ.

I didn't stay to see if he was alive, I could only take a quick look at the battlefield, Lakan was fighting against the Alpha and other werewolves. He was having trouble, but for the moment he managed to defend himself and keep them at bay with his axe, the problem was Melwez, the two werewolves were tearing Dadan's body to pieces, and he was the next one of us who was closest.

To make matters worse, his two short swords couldn't hit the werewolf in front of him, who kept jumping to harass him or hit him, throwing him into the air. He was like a toy that was being hit over and over again. I didn't think twice and ran towards him, jumping to the side of the werewolf with the intention of stabbing him, however I stopped just in time to see the claw fly through the air where my head should have been.

I didn't know why I simply repressed my warrior instinct as if I knew that was going to happen. The oblique cut of my sword reached the wolf at shoulder height, leaving that limb hanging from a shred of flesh that looked black and burnt.

Melwez didn't waste time, and his twin swords traced a cross on the beast's chest. Despite the wounds and the pain he must have felt with that flesh burning inwards, the beast managed to knock down my battle companion with a backhand that sent him flying several meters, while he faced me. But my arm was already tracing a low cut while I crouched and passed under the animal's body, severing the tendons of the werewolf's legs.

However, I couldn't finish him off. As if something inside me had been activated, my body became insubstantial, immaterial, it evaporated, and I felt an electric current throughout my being. I was immediately five meters away from there on top of a rock that I had just looked at a millisecond before.

One of the werewolves turned towards Melwez while the other began to jump towards me, he disappeared again to intercept him in midair. My sword stuck in his right eye, but I couldn't prevent the entire momentum of the wounded beast from hitting my body, throwing me to the ground in a spin.

I should have broken my neck with that spinning fall, but instead I stood up just in time to dodge an attack from that werewolf who was barely standing but who tried to finish me off at any cost. My neck was twisted at a strange angle, but I managed to cut the wounded lycanthrope three more times.

Melwez was now fighting with the other werewolf, but he finally seemed to be able to control his body movement to hit the beast. However, the one who was having trouble was Lakan. He had one arm and one leg torn off, although he had previously managed to kill the weakest wolf among his enemies. I tried to dematerialize but for some reason my power did not activate at will and I did not arrive in time to prevent the alpha wolf, who had a nasty cut on his leg, from biting his head off.

With a movement of my hands I repositioned my neck, I couldn't fight like this, I had to pull myself together.

When those bloody eyes turned to look around, my power kicked in again, I reappeared on top of his rump, and that was when there were more than fifty meters between me and Lakan's body, my sword sank up to the hilt between his shoulder blades. But the power of that beast was such that it shook my body and crashed against a rock.

I was unarmed, I hadn't been able to pull the sword out of his body, but that was a success, with the silver eating away at his flesh, the Alpha was losing power by the moment, even so he approached my mortally wounded man ready to avenge his people. I got up just in time to roll across the ground, my hand reaching out and touching the handle of Lakan's axe, I hadn't really seen it, I just knew it would be there, by the time the fangs of the werewolf leader were close enough for me to smell his putrid breath, I backhanded the axe, driving the entire blade into his jaw, preventing him from ripping off a part of my body.

The Beast continued to push and try to reach me with its front claw, but the flesh and bone were smoking, finally the damage the sword was causing to its internal organs began to slow its momentum, its eyes blurred and it finally fell dead.

The last werewolf that was with Melwez in an even fight stopped its attack and jumped running towards me. My body moved like a spring, jumping over the alpha and ripping the sword out with all my strength as I fell on my back with the sword firm and raised.

The last werewolf impaled his head on my sword, his body imprisoned mine, I managed to push him away and get out, the battle was over, although only Melwez and I were on the battlefield. But not a minute passed when the Master materialized between us, he had Jaka by the neck and a torch in the other hand.

With a movement of his hand, the woman crashed into a rock, and the vampire began to walk towards us.

"Amazing, a pity about Lakan, I thought he would be the one with the most potential, but it seems that I was wrong, there is no room for failure in our mission"

The gesture was so fast that I almost didn't see it, in a moment I had pierced Lakan's chest with a stake, a moment later when I brought the torch close to his body it burned like dry firewood, leaving only ashes behind.

"And now we will see what happens to cowards..."

The master's body flickered, and he was already next to Jaka, with one bite he tore off half of his neck, but the blood did not come out in a scattered cloud but all that mist entered the master's body while the woman's body dried up until it was just an empty shell that also burned quickly.

Melwez rushed at the master with all the rage contained during those days, but the blow of that man who must have been almost as strong as me, and despite using a silver sword, was stopped by only two fingers of the master.

While the Irishman made furrows in the ground trying to attack with all his strength, all his muscles swollen to the maximum and his face about to explode, the master simply seemed to be casually picking up a leaf from a tree with his hand. Melwez tried to stab him with his other sword, but the tip was stopped by a single finger of the master's hand that held the torch.

"And now it's time for you to learn a lesson, Ashan. I want you to see the difference between your power and mine. I want you to engrave this image forever in your retina, so that you will never be as stupid as this poor idiot and try to attack me. No matter what I do or say, you will obey me and learn if you want to live..."

The next thing was a kick so powerful, so fast, that it tore off Melwez's head. His body went rigid and at that moment the master drove another stake into his heart and transformed it into a pyre.

"Follow me, we have a lot to do..."
