Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Echoes of Bloodline
---
In the middle of the night Kael walked, the Crimson Heart beating in his bosom. It did not beat, it burned. As a fire-blast left too long in the furnace.
He hadn't eaten since the vault. He didn't need to.
Not yet.
The mutation had changed more than his body.
His mind was shifting too.
He remembered things he hadn't lived.
---
The book burst across his side with the edge of a moonlit ridge.
Pages turned violently in the windless night.

---
It was a blurred world to Kael.
Color drained.
Noise curved into mumbles.
Pressing a knee to the ground he gripped the agony behind his eyes. His teeth were gritting. His shadow contorted itself.
And then…
---
He saw it.
A memory not his own… but somehow his.
---
A massive hall of dark angled glass, and of red banners.
There were nine thrones all about a blazing lake of living blood.
People were tall and dressed with night and hunger. Progenitor Lords.
In the center stood a woman with Kael's eyes, her skin pale like silver mist. She held a newborn.
A man in armor approached her, eyes wide with fear.
> "That child should not exist. The bloodlines cannot mix…"
> "They already have," she replied. "And his blood… sings."
The man reached for the baby.
She vanished.
---
A new scene followed.
A forest… the same forest Kael had grown up in.
The woman stood before a pond.
Her arms trembled.
She kissed the baby's forehead.
And whispered a name Kael couldn't hear.
Then… she let him go.
The child floated into the water… and disappeared.
---
Kael gasped awake.
Back in the real world.
His hands were shaking.
His breath came out ragged.
The pond.
The rabbits.
The poison.
It hadn't been an accident.
---
He wasn't just a forgotten orphan.
He was sealed.
Placed deliberately in the one place that could one day reawaken him.

---
Kael stared at his hands.
His blood… was both damnation and divinity.
He was the child that should not exist.
---
Suddenly, the book flickered red.
Not a memory.
A warning.
> ▸ Hostile Presence Detected
▸ Threat Level: Tier 4 – Divine Hunter
▸ Approaching from the north. Estimated contact: 3 minutes.
---
Kael stood.
His heart burned as hot metal under his ribs.
His eyes smouldered with sultry wrath.
---
Let them come.
He was done hiding.
He'd seen the past.
Now… he would fight for his future.

"There will come a child without name or grave… whose blood cannot be traced, and whose face cannot be remembered by the gods. When he awakens, the thrones will tremble. For his blood was sealed, not erased."
