Chapter 18: Chapter 18
Chapter 18 Wild Wolf Jacko
"Yes, sir! "
The adjutant replied and proceeded briskly toward the cabin.
"Increase speed! Accelerate! "
"Hurry! We must reach the Wild Wolf Pirates before noon! "
The warship, which had not been sluggish initially, suddenly increased its pace.
Bruch gazed at the distant sea, his eyes filled with a vengeful determination. He yearned to return to the North Sea and eliminate Jacko without delay.
At that moment, a great wave surged before the warship, filling the atmosphere with moisture.
Unexpectedly,
A massive sea king, with a mouth brimming with sharp teeth resembling that of a sea snake, emerged from the depths.
It roared at the warship.
"Sea King! "
"Open fire! Open fire! "
The adjutant spotted the sea king and shouted loudly.
At this juncture, Bruch's voice echoed.
"There's no need! Allow me to handle this Sea king. Maintain course and keep accelerating! "
"Understood! "
Bruch observed the sea kings in the water and thought to himself, " Maybe killing this sea king will calm me down."
Having said that, a subtle sound indicated his wings unfurling, transforming Bruch into a sanguine shadow as he propelled himself toward the Sea King.
Near the Sea King, he unsheathed Kitetsu from his hip and it became a blur.
With a sharp sound,
There was a noise akin to tearing flesh. Bruch hovered above, his wings rhythmically flapping.
Kitetsu was gradually sheathed.
With a swift motion, Bruch's blade cleaved the serpentine sea king in two vertically.
Blood gushed forth, splattering all over Bruch.
He extended his vividly red tongue to taste the Sea king's blood from the corner of his mouth.
"Ptu! Indeed, the blood of a beast. It has a distinctly fishy odor. "
Bruch concentrated, using his blood energy to create a misty aura around him, solidifying the splattered blood from the sea king into a blood orb.
Controlling blood
Bruch's vampiric abilities began to awaken gradually.
His cold expression remained unchanged as he observed the orb of blood, then casually gestured with his right hand, propelling the blood mass into the sea.
Following this, his wings fluttered once more as he returned to the warship!
The Marines aboard the warship regarded the returning Bruch with admiring glances.
Typically, it would require four 24-pound cannons to fend off such a Sea King, rather than simply slaying it.
After all, this is the ocean, and sea kings reign supreme here.
Yet Bruch dispatched it with a single strike, truly impressing all the marines.
It feels extraordinarily secure to serve under Captain Bruch.

Since encountering that Sea king, the journey proceeded seamlessly, with no pirate ships in sight.
Thus, they arrived at the North blue.
Observing the familiar maritime expanse before him, Bruch experienced a tinge of melancholy. He had anticipated a prolonged stay at headquarters, yet he found himself returning within a mere five or six days.
On this occasion, however, he served in the capacity of Captain Curson's superior officer.
Captain Curson, after all, held a position as a branch Captain.
In contrast, he was a Captain at the headquarters.
The headquarters possesses three tiers of authority beyond that of a branch. He pondered whether Captain Curson would be astonished upon seeing him.
Certainly.
Bruch mused inwardly, and then directed his marines, "Accelerate, we must swiftly locate the Wild Wolf Pirates to obstruct their escape back to the New World. Now that they are discovered, they should remain here indefinitely. "
"Remain here indefinitely! "
"Justice shall prevail! "
The marines responded in unison.
The warship advanced at maximum speed toward the 61st branch. Within a span of only two hours, by the afternoon, they reached the site of the 61st branch.
The remnants of the walls, scattered embers, and acrid smoke assaulted Bruch's senses.
The naval flag, barely recognizable, fluttered as tattered fabric.
Structures on the island had been reduced to debris and rubble.
In the aftermath of the blaze, mangled limbs were strewn about, and numerous lifeless bodies of children were visible, saturating the island with blood.
The waters surrounding the island glimmered faintly with the hue of blood.
With a clenched fist, Bruch struck the side of the vessel and commanded gruffly, "Set a course south for the nearest island. If the Wild Wolf Pirates require supplies, that is undoubtedly where they will head. "
Witnessing the harrowing scene before them, the crew could not restrain their tears.
These were their comrades, along with innocent civilians.
Not a single soul had survived.
In response to Bruch's orders, each member of the crew cried out in vengeful fury like a wounded beast:
"Full speed ahead! "
"Slay all the Wolf Pirates! "
The warship appeared to resonate with their emotions, and its pace quickened slightly.
Time passed, though how long was unclear,
Bruch eventually discerned a commotion ahead.
Gradually, a ship materialized in front of him.
As they drew nearer, it became evident that it was the Wild Wolf Pirates. Their flag was already familiar to Bruch from intelligence reports.
At that moment, the Wild Wolf Pirates were seemingly engaged in a celebration.
Plentiful seafood, meat, and copious amounts of beer were laid out.
"ahaha cheers "
"Cheers! "
"This mission was truly successful."
"You didn't witness it, I. Hiccup! The little girl I killed, hahaha! She even cried out for her mother.
'No! Please don't kill me!' the look on her face, was funny Oh hahahaha! "
"Ha! Vice Captain Ravi, you've become quite adept in killing children. "
"Ha ha ha ha! "
These remarks echoed from the Wild Wolf Pirates, reaching Bruch's ears.
This caused Bruch's eyes to redden in fury, and he bellowed in anger:
"The Wild Wolf Pirates, is it? I'll slaughter you "
Bruch immediately drew Kitetsu from his side and unleashed a powerful slash, resembling a lightning bolt, cutting through the sky.
BOOM—!
The Flying Slash was overwhelming.
The blood-soaked slash, brimming with killing intent, sped rapidly toward the Wild Wolf Pirates' ship.
"It's the Navy! "
"The navy is approaching! "
The Wolf Pirates, who were congregating, caught Bruch's murderous voice. They looked in the direction of the sound and witnessed a flying slash hurtling toward them with astonishing speed.
"Help! "
"Captain, help! "
The pirates aboard the ship had never encountered such a colossal attack and were now cowering in fear.
At that moment, a wolf's roar resonated.
A werewolf, approximately five meters tall, emerged from the cabin.
Confronting Bruch's slash, it extended both fists, encased in gleaming black armament haki. The fists struck directly against Bruch's attack.
Wheng! Wheng!
Two sounds reminiscent of metal clashing echoed.
The werewolf successfully absorbed Bruch's lethal slash.
RooOOAR~
In response, it bellowed furiously and hurled the slash skyward with immense power.
BOOOM!
The clouds and mist above churned, split apart by the attack, remaining divided for an extended period.
Wild Wolf Jacko examined the two deep gashes on his fists, noticeable enough to reveal bone, and frowned. The marks faded after a brief moment.
He directed his gaze toward Bruch, situated on the warship.
Bruch also returned the gaze.
"Navy? "
"Pirate! "
While Jacko's tone was more inquisitive, Bruch's voice was thick with killing intent.
He now regretted his lack of knowledge regarding Haki.
Otherwise, that slashing attack would have been sufficient to sever Jacko's arms.
Indeed, the advantages of mastering haki are considerable.
Nevertheless, it was not slashing that distinguished Bruch as a formidable swordsman.
It was, instead, a close-quarters cutting sword style akin to Bogard.
