Chapter 135: The Creator
[Ignoring notifications function has turned off]
[Now are you ready to talk?]
'Yes. I'm actually just kind of meditating right now.'
"Hey, mom, I have to talk to my system now," I said.
"Sure, sweetheart. Just let me know when you're ready to continue," Shikasa said.
'Ok, I'm free now. What did you want to say?'
[Yes, I did lie. But it was only to conceal my identity]
'It sounds like you're trying to make it not sound as bad.'
[Yes? No? My point is, I wasn't trying to harm you. I just needed you to seek out your mother, and saying I came from her seemed like the best way. I know you may think of me as all powerful, but I don't know cultivation the way she does. So I needed her to teach you]

'Ok. You're using me for some purpose. What is it?'
[To save Earth? Well, that's not all. I want you to save and protect Earth, but I also want you to save and protect the universe from bad actors. Not people who are bad at acting. People who seek to harm others for the sake of their own personal gain. People who are destroying everything I've built because they can and they want to]
'Are you saying you built the universe?'
[Several universes actually]
'If you can create universes, can you just boop them out of existence?'
[Not exactly. Everything I by myself is very big. If I were to try to boop them out, I could boop an entire section of the universe out of existence. That's why I built the system and the dungeons]
[And that's why I need you. You're like my strike team leader. You can do what I can't. You can surgically remove the bad people without harming any good people. You can lead people into battle. I could nuke everything to shit, but then a lot of good people would die too and I don't want that]
'You can create people in the dungeons! Why can't you just send them to do it?'
[Because the dungeons are a self contained environment. If the AI's are outside of them too long, they break down and disappear. You actually turned Lara into a real human about an hour before she was about to disappear]
'What? Why didn't you tell me?'
[That would've meant blowing my cover. And I didn't know how you would react when you found out who I really was. What I really was]
'Wait, then why are the dungeon breaks occurring if the dungeons were just meant to train me to get stronger?'
[Design flaw. It has to do with the enemy loading cycle. I thought you might need to redo dungeons so I built a loading cycle into them, but they just boot enemies out if they haven't been completed before the cycle happens]
'Can't you fix that?'
[The dungeons are very delicate. If I fiddle with them, they could break, which could lead to catastrophic failure which could swallow the Earth]
'Wow. Ok. For a cosmic entity that can create universes, you seem pretty dumb. No offense.'
[That's very offensive, but I see your point. I'm not perfect. I'm just a big powerful thing trying my best to set things right. All you humans expect 'The Creator' to be some perfect being. I'm just a being. That's it. I'm not going to apologize for that]
'I'm not asking you to. I'm just trying to figure this out. Well, then I gotta ask why me? And why create so many dungeons?'
[Well, there were supposed to be other dungeoneers like you who also had systems and could get stronger, but they all died. Their brains shut down. The system was too much for them]
[It wasn't until I did a little more research and found out about the monsters hiding underground that I realized there might be a being that could handle the system without dying]
[And then I found out about vampires and the gods and Shikasa and her son who just so happened to be the most powerful vampire type, once vampirism was activated in his body of course]
[So I waited, and waited, and waited. Keep in mind, I created the dungeons long before this and they were just pooping out enemies and killing monsters underground, but the monsters always managed to stop them]
[I was going to choose your half-brother Edmund originally, but he wasn't a good person, so I waited, and waited some more until finally you were born. And then I waited for you to eventually become a vampire. But when your mom died, I almost lost all hope you would ever become a vampire]
[But still I waited, until finally a random sex vampire tried to suck your dick, but you white knighted her, and you kissed, and then you were born! Or reborn, I guess. As soon as that happened, I instantly gave you the system to see if it took. And it did! And now here we are]
'Wait, you didn't know if it would take? You mean my head could've exploded?'
[Yes, but that was a risk I was willing to take]
'What if I didn't want to take that risk, motherfucker!'
[I hadn't really considered that. I was too focused on saving the world from Lilith Black's eventual invasion, and many other upcoming invasions on the horizon]
'I detect sarcasm and a sassy attitude.'
[Well, you detect correctly! I'm sorry I risked your life, but more than trillions of lives are at stake in the universe because of these bad actors. I had to consider the bigger picture]
'Ok. Ok. Point taken. So are we all caught up now?'
[I think so, but if you think of anything feel free to ask]
'Ok. Now can I get back to my cultivating?'
[Yes. Please continue]
'Thank you.'
"Ok, mom, I'm done hashing it out with the most powerful being in several universes. We can continue cultivating," I said.
"Oh, is that all? What did they have to say?" She said.
"Basically, they chose me as their champion to fight bad guys who just want to invade places and conquer and kill people for no reason. And that's why we're cultivating now. So I can get strong enough to defeat one of those bad guys, or girls, I guess," I said.
"Oh. Ok. Makes sense to me," she said. I guess being a goddess, not much surprises you. "Now the first step of the Night Spirit Stage is Shadow Resonance."
