Chapter 117: Arming the People
I started with the key. I placed the key into one chamber in the replicator and a massive bar of gold into the other. When you put too high of a value item into the exchange chamber, it simply replicated the item as many times as the value of the item placed in the chamber would cover.
In this particular case, it covered a dozen copies of the key. There was a small chunk of gold left in the chamber next to all the copies of the key. I removed the key copies and kept the gold in the chamber for future replications.
I did the same with the portal compass and the dungeon glasses. The replicator would increase and decrease in size based on how large the item being replicated was combined with how many copies were being replicated.
It basically sized itself to fulfill the job it needed to. Nothing complicated about that. Fancy, but not complicated. I made dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of copies of the 3 dungeoneer items necessary for people to tackle the dungeons.
Once I had reached copies in the thousands, Sarah had already finished and sent on her report to her supervisor. The supervisor didn't believe for one second that I could have information on the dungeons that no one else had.
So he came down and asked me to make some demonstrations, displaying superhuman prowess as a test that I had the authority to make the claims I was making.
I pulled out a plain bar of gold and handed it to him to inspect. He handed it to Sarah to inspect and they both agreed that to the best of their knowledge it was a bar of gold.
Then I took it into my hand and squeezed it. The gold oozed between my fingers as I placed the bar under tremendous pressure. The gold bar turned into a malformed mess.
I showed it again to the supervisor, Daniel, and the administrative assistant, Sarah. They both agreed that I did exactly what I claimed to have done. Which was fuck up a bar of gold.
The news producer supervisor then took my claims seriously and had the writing team work on a breaking news broadcast that anyone who wished to help fight the dungeon breaks could come down to the Channel Four news office and receive dungeoneer tools.
This would allow them to not only tackle dungeons, but attain powerful equipment, and wealth by defeating dungeons and making the world a safer place.
When the breaking news ran, people flocked in by the hundreds to get their hands on these dungeoneer items. I continued to make another couple thousand sets of items during the preparation for and the running of the broadcast.
By the end of the night, I had handed out nearly all the dungeoneer items I had replicated. People stopped coming after a certain point and I just hung out and made more items in case people showed up later.
I gave Sarah thousands of sets of dungeoneer items to hand out to people who came later and asked her to continue broadcasting that they have the supplies until they ran out. She agreed to do so.
I asked her for her number and she happily gave it to me. I said it was just to check if they ever ran out of dungeoneer supplies, but she said, "Sure it is," and winked at me. Some people are weird.
The next thing we had to do was just travel to the next city on the Theater of Dreams' tour schedule and try to find a local hook up for the monster underground.
Alice and the Theater of Dreams piled into their tour bus and Victoria and I got onto my motorcycle The Phantom and traveled behind them as well as several black sedans with tinted back windows that made up Johnny's boys.
I wanted to find a hook up for the monster underground so that I could get in touch with Dan and Tommy again. I also needed to get in touch with Shikasa to further my cultivation training.
I was following behind the tour bus for an hour when the sky darkened and clouds rolled in. In the center of the dark clouds formed a vortex. Out of the vortex descended two beings.
When they touched down, a massive crater formed beneath them and a huge shockwave went out, knocking over and flipping cars on the highway. The tour bus fell over and slid on its side for a while before coming to a stop.
To prevent further destruction I went to the source of the problem. I told Victoria to check on Alice and everyone in the tour bus.
As I ran up to the two beings standing partially out into the desert, I came across a crater of glass. Their landing must have put out such immense heat that it glassed the sand.
I walked down to the two beings. The glass was slippery but I emitted spikes made of blood out of the bottom of my shoes to add grip.
They were both deathly pale. Their skin was as white as paper or porcelain. One was a man and the other was a woman. The man stood well over 2 meters tall. He had a massive muscular body adorned with black armor, spiky white hair, and black ichor oozing from his eyes.
The woman had a similar look but a different physique. She had the same white hair, black ichor oozing from her eyes, and pale white skin. Her hair was long and done up in a formal manner.
She wore a long black bridal dress with a thin black veil on her head. She took a handkerchief out and wiped the black ichor away from her eyes. The area around her eyes were still black, but there wasn't any ichor oozing from them anymore.
"Brutus, let me get your eyes. This transition has been harder on our bodies than I anticipated," she said.
The tall muscular man named Brutus leaned down and comparatively small woman wiped the ichor away from his eyes. "Thank you, maam," the behemoth of a man said.
"I don't mean to come off as angry, but your arrival has probably killed over a dozen people. What business do you have on this planet?" I said.
The woman looked shocked and appalled at what I said. She responded, "I'm deeply apologetic for that. We would have killed more people, but we didn't where we were going to arrive. The middle of a city would have been better, I think."
"You would have killed more people if you could? What?" I said, raising my voice.
"Oh, yes. We plan to take over this planet as our own and I figure, the more people who die right away, the less people who suffer in the long run," she said, smiling.
It wasn't what I would call an evil smile despite what she was saying. She genuinely saw nothing wrong with the words she was spouting to me. She seemed to be trying to be polite.
"I see," I said, my expression hardening. "Well, then. I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop you. I hope you don't mind if I attempt to kill your companion here, as I assume he is the main threat."
"No, you're right to assume that. Before you get to the fighting though, let me introduce ourselves. My name is Lilith Black. I am the princess of the Black family and the rightful ruler of this planet. This is Brutus. He is my personal bodyguard," Lilith said. "Ok, you may proceed with the fighting now."
Brutus pulled a massive black sword from the scabbard at his hip. He came at me quick and brutally with a vertical slash down at me. I parried it with my sword and a dark black energy erupted from the sword as it hit the ground.
Glass exploded everywhere. I dove to the side to avoid it. I rolled and tried to pop back up, but he was on me as soon as I began to stand. I realized I would need to push my abilities to the limit just to keep up with him. I would need to pull out all the stops. Experience exclusive tales on empire
