Chapter 859: Chill
"Sigh, I told you, compared to the entire Hongmen, our branch has no real power. Otherwise, why would I let you come and get on good terms with the Hong Family's young master? Do you think your grandfather has lost his mind and doesn't know what kind of person the Hong Family's young master is?" Sikong Zhu shook his head and sighed.
The Hongmen plans to annex their branch, which Sikong Lianyan found hard to believe.
Her father and several uncles have devoted so much effort to the development of Hongmen, yet it has come to this conclusion.
"The Hong Family is one of the four great families of Hongmen. If you get on good terms with the Hong Family's young master, maybe he can speak on our behalf and preserve our branch," said Sikong Zhu. "But I don't want you to suffer grievances. However, now that Lin Mo has appeared, it's a good thing for us."
"A good thing?" Sikong Lianyan didn't understand.
Sikong Zhu said, "Listening to you, this Mr. Lin is definitely not an ordinary person. Moreover, he has a grudge against the people of Hongmen. Whether he can triumph over Hongmen or Hongmen can suppress him, both scenarios are beneficial for us."
"If he can suppress Hongmen, and you get on good terms with Mr. Lin, Hongmen naturally won't touch us. If he is suppressed by Hongmen, Hongmen won't have time to bother with us," Sikong Zhu's slightly squinted eyes glinted with the wisdom of an old man.
Sikong Lianyan immediately exclaimed excitedly,
"Grandfather, I understand now. Regardless of the outcome, it doesn't harm us. If Hongmen can teach Lin Mo a lesson, that's revenge for me. If Hongmen can't suppress Lin Mo, then with my connection to Lin Mo, they wouldn't dare do anything to us."
Sikong Zhu nodded lightly.
Sikong Lianyan said, "I know what to do. Tonight, I'll go find Lin Mo." Thinking of this, a strange smile appeared on Sikong Lianyan's lips, estimating that there would be a good show to watch tonight.
Inside the hotel.
Lin Mo suddenly opened his eyes, a brilliant light flashing in his pupils.
The five items hovering around his body now had noticeably faded black mist. Only a few thin wisps of mist, like little snakes, still coiled around them.
Among the five items, the Divine Thought in the Magic Box had already been consumed by Lin Mo back in Huaxia. The remaining four items had just had their Divine Thoughts devoured by Lin Mo as well.
"I feel that my Divine Thought has solidified and progressed a few degrees," Lin Mo said, extending his right hand. In the palm, a dagger emitting a strange red light slowly rose.
Compared to before, not only did it appear more solidified, but its length had changed to three inches, exuding a heart-shuddering aura.
"Go."
Lin Mo instructed.
Immediately, the red Demon Blade in his palm pierced through the air, transforming into a red line. Sometimes it charged straight; sometimes it formed an arc, circling Lin Mo's body, giving the impression of red lines surrounding him.
"With this speed, combined with my Qiankun Step, it's truly indefensible. Even if faced with the president of the Superpower Alliance, a surprise attack can severely wound him."
Lin Mo grinned, then retrieved the Demon Blade back into his body.
This was formed by his internal Divine Thought. It caused no physical harm but could instantly kill one's soul!
"That little girl should be coming to find me now, right?" Lin Mo glanced outside the window, noticing the sky had grown a bit dim, and murmured to himself.
After saying this, Lin Mo tidied up a bit and left the room. Just as he reached the elevator, a figure suddenly rushed in with incredible speed. As the elevator was closing, Lin Mo hadn't even seen who it was.
"Basement level, please." The woman had a pair of deep black eyes, her long black hair draped over her shoulders, exuding a lazy and alluring charm.
Lin Mo frowned but still helped her press the elevator button.
"Thank you." The woman turned to look at Lin Mo with a smile.
"You're welcome." Lin Mo smiled back.
The woman's eyes remained calm. She only briefly made eye contact with Lin Mo before looking away, but Lin Mo clearly sensed an intense killing intent hidden beneath her composed gaze. It was evident that this woman's hands were stained with much blood, not an ordinary woman.
The elevator reached the first floor, and Lin Mo stepped out and left.
As the elevator door closed, a trace of bloodlust flashed in the woman's eyes. She licked her lips, "I didn't expect my luck to be this good."
Outside the hotel was a wide road. As soon as Lin Mo stepped out, he saw an Audi A6 parked at the hotel's entrance. A slender girl stepped out of the car, her gaze immediately landing on Lin Mo, looking somewhat complex.
"I thought you wouldn't come." Lin Mo strode over, smiling as he spoke.
"How did you know I would come to find you?" Sikong Lianyan frowned and said.
Lin Mo didn't finish. He simply opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat, saying, "Come over and drive; find a place to chat."
"Why..." Sikong Lianyan clenched her white fist, originally wanting to ask why, but upon seeing Lin Mo's cold face, she shuddered, recalling the fear of being dominated by Lin Mo as a servant. "Let's talk at a bar."
With that, Sikong Lianyan got into the driver's seat, and the car quickly headed toward a bustling street.
"Is going to a bar okay?" Sikong Lianyan asked.
"Doesn't matter." Lin Mo said indifferently.
Soon, the car stopped in front of a ten-story entertainment club. They took the elevator to the top floor, which turned out to be a high-altitude bar. The four walls were glass, and the ceiling was a transparent fiberglass structure, allowing one to see the stars in the sky.
It was indeed a unique bar style. Despite just turning dark, there were already many patrons seated inside.
"Two martinis," Sikong Lianyan called to the server for two drinks and a fruit platter.
Lin Mo sat by the window and spoke, "Aren't you supposed to be in the country? How did you end up here?"
Lin Mo was a bit curious. Sikong Lianyan, although the eldest daughter of Hongmen, was only the daughter of the branch leader in the country. Hongmen had relocated overseas hundreds of years ago, leaving only a few in the country, representing merely a small part of its power.
"Isn't it because of you?" Sikong Lianyan pouted. Originally captured by Lin Mo as a servant, Sikong Lianyan was very angry, but Lin Mo didn't torment her and only had her do trivial tasks like serving tea. Later encountering some cultivators, her eyes opened, and her resentment toward Lin Mo wasn't as deep as she imagined.
"Because of me?"
Lin Mo sipped his drink, "I still prefer tea."
"Isn't it because you seized my mine, forcing my grandfather and me to come to America to apologize to Hongmen headquarters and explain the situation?" Sikong Lianyan scoffed.
"Oh, have you notified Hongmen headquarters to come kill me?"
Lin Mo said calmly, a glint of coldness in his eyes.
