Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Chapter 783: Acquaintance

"Who are you to cause a disturbance at the chamber of commerce banquet and injure young Master Alec?" The old man's gaze fixed tightly on Lin Mo, particularly when he saw that Lin Mo was Chinese, his brow deeply furrowed.

These years, Huaxia had been rising in international standing, touted as the nation most likely to surpass M country.

Moreover, Chinese organizations also had significant influence overseas, so the old man did not act rashly, instead seeking to ascertain Lin Mo's identity.

Lin Mo was about to speak when he suddenly heard a faint voice: "Everyone stop."

The voice was soft but both familiar and strange.

It felt as though there had been a tranquil lake set in a forest in his heart, and someone had cast a stone into it, causing gentle ripples.

Lin Mo followed the voice and saw a woman in a long white dress with long black hair cascading over her shoulders, walking gracefully down the stairs, her tall figure adorned with jewelry and seemingly radiating a dazzling light. "Su Xinhe," Lin Mo finally uttered a name.

"Miss Su."

Upon seeing the woman walking down, everyone at the banquet showed a respectful expression on their faces.

It was known that for a Chinese woman to hold such a high status in Seattle was no small feat.

Seeing Su Xinhe, Lin Mo felt a sense of bewilderment in his heart.

Upon seeing Su Xinhe descend, the old man immediately placed his right hand over his chest, bowed, and said very respectfully, "Miss Su, I am terribly sorry to have disturbed you."

"Charlie, what happened?" Su Xinhe asked softly.

"A Chinese man injured young Master Alec, I was handling it," Charlie said, with his head bowed, not daring to meet Su Xinhe's gaze.

Su Xinhe turned to look at Lin Mo with an expression of surprise, delight, and even nervousness that one might imagine.

"How come you're in Seattle?" Su Xinhe asked Lin Mo, parting her lips.

"Here for work."

Lin Mo sighed deeply.

Hearing their conversation, Charlie's expression shifted slightly, "Miss Su, you know him."

Su Xinhe turned and said, "Charlie, send the person to the hospital. If the Alec family has any complaints, they can come to me."

"Miss Su, the Alec family surely won't bother you or your friend's safety, I assure you," Charlie said, his body quaking slightly, seemingly very afraid of Su Xinhe, he hurriedly spoke.

After finishing his words, he immediately arranged for security to drag the barely alive Alec out of the banquet scene.

Huo Nan and Song Min's eyes widened in disbelief as they stared at Lin Mo.

Lin Mo actually knew this mysterious 'Miss Su.'

It was known that the hottest topic in Seattle for the past three months was the appearance of this Miss Su. Nobody knew her identity, but since her arrival in Seattle, almost the entire upper society had been extremely secretive about her.

What Huo Nan and Song Min had not anticipated was that Lin Mo actually knew her, and being perceptive, they sensed from Lin Mo's gaze that there might have been some 'story' between him and her.

"It's been a long time," Su Xinhe said to Lin Mo as she looked at him, suddenly speaking out.

"Yes, it has been some time."

Lin Mo nodded.

It had been almost two years since high school graduation, and he hadn't seen Su Xinhe since then. She had transformed from a green young girl into a graceful woman, her aura completely changed, exuding a "supervisor" quality.

"Let's find a place to talk," Su Xinhe suggested before striding towards the exit.

Lin Mo hesitated for a moment but followed her out.

Even after the two had left the banquet hall, Huo Nan and Song Min still stood rooted to the spot, unable to regain their composure for a long time.

"Mr. Huo," suddenly a middle-aged man with a receding hairline approached them, bringing Huo Nan back to his senses.

"Mr. Hans," Huo Nan nodded politely.

The man in front of them was the general manager of Tianyu Company, who usually carried himself with an air of arrogance and was even cold in demeanor, claiming to have little fondness for the people of Huaxia.

A sycophantic smile covered Hans's face: "Miss Su just now is acquainted with both of you, I presume. On behalf of my company, I decided to award the contract to Baolai Company, hoping for a pleasant collaboration."

Huo Nan and Song Min felt bewildered upon hearing his words, the surprise seemingly too sudden.

The goal they had been striving for, unsuccessfully, over six months was suddenly within reach just because Lin Mo knew Miss Su, and Hans had personally come over to request the collaboration.

While they felt elated, they grew even more curious about the mystique surrounding Miss Su's identity and Lin Mo's status.

The city of Seattle was cloaked in the charming allure of the night.

Lin Mo and Su Xinhe left the banquet hall and settled down in a café.

The café's lighting was dim, creating an intimate ambiance.

"I heard you attended Tian Nan University for a year and then stopped?" Su Xinhe sipped her coffee gently, set it down, and looked at Lin Mo.

"Yes. For me, going to college or not is all the same," Lin Mo regained his calm demeanor, the interaction as though between old friends.

"Two years ago, you made quite an impression in Shu Province as a Martial Arts Expert, leaving on petals. It truly shocked me at the time," Su Xinhe remarked.

Lin Mo gave a faint smile, looking at her, and noticed something different about Su Xinhe. These unimaginable feats effortlessly spoken by her, seemingly ordinary now.

For someone to speak thusly indicates either a transcendence beyond worldly concerns or a possession of much greater self-confidence.

Su Xinhe fell silent for a moment before speaking, "You should be doing well for yourself. What brings you to Seattle so suddenly?"

"Just handling some matters," Lin Mo replied nonchalantly.

"I know your nature. Did you offend someone in Huaxia and couldn't make it there, prompting a move to the U.S.?" Su Xinhe spoke calmly, "But America isn't Huaxia; if you offend certain people here, there's no one to help you. However, if there's anything, you can call me. As a friend, I'll help if I can."

As she spoke, Su Xinhe took out a business card, placed it on the table, and then stood up to leave the café.

Lin Mo picked up the card and glanced at it—it bore only a phone number, without even a name.

"Su Xinhe, who are you now?" Lin Mo squinted his eyes slightly.

Su Xinhe's calm, even lofty attitude towards him signaled that she likely held a deeper standing in the U.S., viewing his former repute as the young champion of Shu Province as trivial.

"Ah, but you still don't know that I am now considered the number one young Martial Arts figure in Huaxia," Lin Mo put away the card and shook his head lightly.

(The excitement continues tomorrow.)
