Chapter 208 The Cause and Effect of the Matter
The next morning, Ye Qing went to see Scar Lee first. Scar Lee had been hiding in a small hotel these past few days, not daring to venture out, clueless about what was happening outside. The TV here was broken, so he couldn't watch the news or receive any information. The food Ye Qing had brought him before had all been eaten, and he had been hungry for two meals.
Seeing Ye Qing come over, he reacted like he'd seen a family member, nearly moved to tears.
Ye Qing brought some food, and as he sat down next to Scar Lee, he watched him wolf it down until he had nearly finished before he asked, "Do you know someone called Beggar King in Tianhui City?"
"I do!" Scar Lee nodded, saying, "Beggar King has a decent relationship with Boss Lin; he was one of the first in this trade. Boss Lin learned all his tricks from him. But thanks to Lin family's connections and using these beggars as cover, Boss Lin shifted to dealing drugs, making much more than Beggar King. However, Beggar King's people are much more ruthless than ours.
What, you plan on taking down his spot too? You better think it through, Tianhui City is not like Shenchuan City, here you have Lin family to back you up and Zhao Chengshuang helping you, making everything more convenient. Although Beggar King doesn't have Boss Lin's kind of background or connections, over at Tianhui City, his network is also vast.
If you don't have someone to back you up there, dealing with him won't be easy."
Ye Qing didn't say anything. If he'd decided to do something, he would surely do it no matter how difficult it was. However, his younger brother Ye Jun would be back in Shenchuan City in two days, and he couldn't leave just yet. Otherwise, he'd definitely rush to Tianhui City right away to rescue those kids under Beggar King's control. Compared to Boss Lin, Beggar King was even more depraved!
"By the way, has Boss Lin been up to anything these past few days?" Scar Lee asked in a low voice, his greatest concern being Boss Lin. As long as Ye Qing hadn't dealt with Boss Lin, he could forget about having any peace.
"No," Ye Qing said.
"What?" Scar Lee asked in surprise, "You made such big moves and Boss Lin hasn't come for revenge?"
"No."
"How is that possible?" Scar Lee scratched his head, saying, "Boss Lin is a narrow-minded person; if someone crosses him, he'll make sure to take his revenge. You've disrupted so much of his business in Shenchuan City and trashed so many of his strongholds, and he still hasn't come after you?"
Scar Lee fell silent for a while, then suddenly said, "Damn it, is that bastard planning something big?"
That's what Ye Qing was thinking too. Boss Lin was not someone who could contain his grievances.
"Do you know someone called Tiger King?" Ye Qing suddenly asked.
"Tiger King?" Scar Lee's expression changed, and he looked at Ye Qing in shock, saying, "You... how do you know about Tiger King? Did Boss Lin get Tiger King to deal with you? Damn, Boss Lin is really betting big to mess with Tiger King!"
"Not him," Ye Qing shook his head and recounted what had happened the night before.
After hearing Ye Qing's story, Scar Lee fell silent. After a long time, he finally looked up and said gravely, "I'd heard there were issues with the orphanage before, but I hadn't expected it to be true. I know the director of that orphanage; his name is Chen Qiang, Tiger King's cousin. It looks like he really has been working for Tiger King."
Ye Qing asked, "What kind of person is Tiger King?"
Lighting a cigarette, Scar Lee took a deep drag and said gravely, "Tiger King's real name is Chen Hu, and he is thirty-two years old. He's been interested in martial arts since he was little, and at thirteen, he took on a very skilled master and learned excellent martial arts.
He returned to Shenchuan City at twenty-five, joined the Fierce Tiger Gang, and in two years got all the gang's power into his own hands. He killed the previous Gang Leader and became the new Gang Leader of the Fierce Tiger Gang. The man is capable; the Fierce Tiger Gang was just a minor gang before, but under his control, it has become one of the largest three gangs in Shenchuan City.
Tiger King also runs an Underground Boxing Ring year-round to personally pick his fighters. In Shenchuan City regarding background, Tiger King can only be considered average. But when it comes to fighting ability, even if you combined the other two gangs that rival the Fierce Tiger Gang, they'd be no match!"
Scar Lee looked at Ye Qing, "Plus, Tiger King is a madman, with a tendency toward psychopathy. He never reasons with anyone. If you enrage him, he will surely torment you slowly to death, including everyone around you. That's why no one in Shenchuan City wants to get involved with him, fearing that once trouble starts, it'll be impossible to shake off."
Listening to Scar Lee's words, Ye Qing sank into a deep silence. Scar Lee thought that Ye Qing was scared of Tiger King, so he cautiously said, "However, with Lin family backing you up, Tiger King should have some reservations, right?"
Ye Qing wasn't frightened by Tiger King; he was merely pondering the entire situation. The children they had found the night before in the unfinished building had been rescued in Tianhui City and then transferred to Shenchuan City. Now, Ye Qing couldn't help but start considering the cause-and-effect relationship in this whole affair.
Actually, Ye Qing had been pondering who it was that saved those children and sent them back to Shenchuan City. If these people truly wanted to rescue the children, they should have taken them to the police station or made the matter public. Instead, those people simply sent the children to Shenchuan City and washed their hands of the affair, showing no concern for their fate.
The children ended up wandering again, and if it weren't for Ye Qing's encounter with them, they would have likely been recaptured by Chen Qiang, falling back into the clutches of evil.
Thus, Ye Qing couldn't help but consider that those who rescued the children also had another agenda. By now, he had pretty much figured out the reason behind it.
Clearly, someone had orchestrated the entire event from behind the scenes. They intentionally hid the children in Shenchuan City, specifically in places where Ye Qing might pass by. In doing so, Ye Qing could potentially encounter these children. Knowing his character, if Ye Qing learned about what had happened to these children, he would immediately rush to investigate the orphanage.
And after the investigation, Chen Qiang's involvement would be exposed, leading to subsequent events. In fact, the mastermind wasn't actually trying to save the children but was looking for a way to instigate animosity between Ye Qing and the Tiger King, hoping to use the Tiger King to deal with Ye Qing!
Having understood the cause and effect, Ye Qing suddenly turned and dashed outside. Scar Lee, surprised, called out from behind, "Hey, where are you going?"
Scar Lee rushed to the door, saw that there were people outside, and dared not pursue, could only call out urgently, "When will you come to bring me food again? This little bit won't last me a few days. Damn it, do you hear me talking?" Sample from My Virtual Library Empire—read more on M&VLEMPY&R.
Ye Qing ran downstairs, looped around a few alleys, and arrived at the place where he had parked his motorcycle. Mounting the motorcycle, he hurried off towards the Eastern Suburb.
Scar Lee had informed him that Boss Lin had a villa in the Eastern Suburb—it was a place where Boss Lin conducted many secret dealings. Generally, any unsavory business that Boss Lin was involved in took place there, essentially making it one of Boss Lin's secret strongholds.
Following the route described by Scar Lee, Ye Qing took a little over half an hour to arrive outside the villa. He hid the motorcycle well, climbed over the villa's wall, and was about to jump in when he saw three or four men stuffing a long sack into a car. The sack was limp, clearly indicating that there was a person inside.
The men loaded the sack into the vehicle and drove off. It was too late for Ye Qing to go after the car, so he climbed back down the wall and pursued on his motorcycle.
The motorcycle Ye Qing rode was an antiquated model from who knows what year, and its ability to stay on the road was a feat in itself, let alone contemplating a chase. After following for over ten miles, the car disappeared from his sight. Riding the motorcycle and relying on his Special Forces tracking instincts, Ye Qing continued the pursuit.
After about half an hour, Ye Qing arrived at Giant Rock Beach, and below was the turbulent sea. The car was stopped at the beach, and the sack had already been carried out of the vehicle. At the moment, the sack was violently writhing, indicating the person inside was still alive.
The three or four men were picking up some rocks, seemingly planning to stuff them into the sack and sink it to the bottom of the sea.
This wasn't the first time these men had performed such an act. The sea below Giant Rock Beach was extremely deep, and its currents were strong, making it a perfect place for some in Shenchuan City to dispose of bodies. Those who were disabled or children that died under the employ of Old Lin were carried down here, weighted with rocks, and thrown into the sea.
Countless innocent souls were buried here, and few people dared to visit this place even in broad daylight.
"Damn it, still struggling, why not just kill her and then carry her over?" One man holding a rock grumbled in agitation.
"Heard this woman has a complicated background, and the boss doesn't want to get entangled with her, so he doesn't even want to see her face," said another man. "Who cares about that? We're just here to dump her into the sea. Hurry up, let's get this done and leave!"
The men approached, opened the sack and began stuffing rocks inside. A bloodied arm occasionally stretched out of the sack, fighting to escape, but the men stuffed it back in.
Ye Qing concealed his motorcycle in the distance, hid his body behind a giant rock, and crept closer, undetected by the men.
When Ye Qing was about fifteen meters away from the men, he crouched down, picked up a few stones the size of chicken eggs, weighed them in his hands, and then suddenly threw one.
The stone flew like a bullet, hitting one of the men squarely in the head. The man fell to the ground, unable to let out even a scream before blood gushed from a gaping wound in his forehead.
The remaining three men were shocked and turned around just as Ye Qing, stones in hand, approached them.
