Chapter 157: Can You Be More Civilized?
The group that entered, led by a young man about one meter eighty in height, quite handsome but with one notable feature: his dyed red hair gave his face an extremely arrogant appearance.
This young man saw Lin Huayu sitting in the back and his eyes immediately lit up, heading straight towards her.
"Miss Lin, how come you have time to attend class today?" The young man walked over to Lin Huayu's side, looked around to make sure her bodyguard wasn't following, then plopped down next to her and said with a smile, "It's been a while, I even dreamed about you last night!"
Lin Huayu's elegant brows furrowed slightly as she glanced at the young man with disgust and said, "Don't disgust people here, go wherever you're supposed to go, and don't make me see you and get annoyed."
"Miss Lin, you really hurt my feelings with what you said." The young man clutched his chest and put on a deeply infatuated expression that was hard to stomach, "Don't you understand how I feel about you? Do I need to cut open my heart to show you before you get it?"
"Get lost!" Lin Huayu couldn't stand it anymore and shouted angrily.
"Miss Lin, why reject me so coldly!" The young man reached out to pull Lin Huayu's arm, smiling, "I know the Lin Corporation has a high status in Shenchuan City, but our Fang Corporation isn't lacking either. We're a perfect match, why do you treat me this way? Besides, we're just in class, we can sit wherever we want, and it's not like your name is written on this seat."
A young man sitting nearby laughed and said, "Young Master Fang is right, Miss Lin, don't tell me you plan to book the entire classroom for yourself?"
Lin Huayu became angry and turned to Ye Qing, "Ye, help me drive them away!"
It was only then that Young Master Fang and the others looked towards Ye Qing, sitting beside Lin Huayu. They hesitated for a moment, but Young Master Fang was the first to snap out of it, pointing at Ye Qing, "Who are you?"
Ye Qing wanted to speak, but Lin Huayu cut in, "He's my Ye, very capable. Get lost quickly, otherwise he will make you crawl on the ground shortly!"
Ye Qing was speechless, Lin Huayu's words had escalated the situation.
Seeing Lin Huayu being so close to Ye Qing, Young Master Fang became even angrier, slamming his hand down, "Who is Ye? I don't recognize any Ye, do any of you know someone with the surname Ye?"
"Don't know!" UploadedbytheM|V|L(EMPYR)team.
The other young men shook their heads unanimously, Young Master Fang sneered at Ye Qing, "You heard them, nobody fucking knows you, so why don't you scram before you're looking for a beating?"
Ye Qing ignored Young Master Fang and simply stood up to Lin Huayu, "You should sit over here by me."
Ye Qing and Lin Huayu changed places, which meant that now he sat between Lin Huayu and Young Master Fang.
Young Master Fang became even more furious and pointed at Ye Qing, swearing, "Wow, you bastard, got quite some courage. Don't you fucking know who I am? Haven't you heard the name of Young Master Fang in Shenchuan City? What's your deal, looking for trouble? Don't think just because we're in a classroom I won't touch you, believe it or not I'll disable your legs right here and now!"
Ye Qing frowned slightly and turned to look at Young Master Fang, speaking softly, "If you want to sit here to study, I welcome it. If you're not studying, please don't talk, and at least don't disturb the other students, okay?"
"What disturbance? Who the fuck have I disturbed?" Young Master Fang stood up angrily, shouting at a group of students looking their way, "Which of you have I disturbed?"
The students all turned their heads away, none daring to meet Young Master Fang's gaze. His bad reputation at the school had long been well-known, and there were more than a few who feared him.
Young Master Fang smirked satisfiedly, turned back to Ye Qing, and said, "See that, I haven't disturbed anyone. You say I'm disturbing, so only you are disturbed? Huh? Just you?"
As he spoke, Young Master Fang reached out to slap Ye Qing's face. However, Ye Qing didn't give him the chance, grabbing his wrist and pushing it gently, immediately causing Young Master Fang to stumble back a few steps. If it weren't for several people behind him catching him, he might have fallen flat on his butt.
Young Master Fang hadn't expected Ye Qing to be skilled, and losing face in front of everyone, especially Lin Huayu, made him furious, he bellowed, "You dare fight back, I'll fucking kill you!"
With that, Young Master Fang grabbed a chair back and swung it at Ye Qing's head.
Ye Qing frowned, it seemed Young Master Fang was someone who usually acted high-handedly, striking without consideration for severity. The chair back was about as thick as a wrist; if it hit the head, that would be serious trouble.
Ye Qing's right fist met the chair back, and with a collision, the chair back flew out of Young Master Fang's hand.
Young Master Fang was momentarily stunned, waved his hand angrily, and said, "What are you waiting for, attack him!"
The other young men immediately rushed forward, clumsily trying to hit Ye Qing.
Ye Qing frowned; these few people were like flies, just wouldn't let up.
Ye Qing stood up, and with a few casual moves, he knocked them to the ground. Of course, this was a classroom and these were all students, so he didn't go too hard on them. He just wanted to make sure they knew better than to continue.
Seeing Ye Qing's skills, Young Master Fang knew he had come up against a tough nut to crack. He angrily gave Ye Qing a thumbs up and said spitefully, "Well done! You're tough! But this isn't the end. We'll have our day—just you wait, I won't let this go!"
After Young Master Fang spoke, he left with his gang in a huff.
The entire classroom of students was agape with shock. Now, no one dared to underestimate Ye Qing. At least they knew he wasn't someone they could afford to provoke.
Ye Qing sat back in his seat, and Lin Huayu whispered to him, "Brother Ye, that was some good punching!"
Ye Qing helplessly gave her a look and said, "Huayu, we're here to study, not to fight."
Lin Huayu immediately said with a wronged expression, "I don't want to fight either, but you saw it. He's like a fly, buzzing around me every day. He didn't dare come close when my dad had bodyguards following me. Now it's only you left, and they think they can bully me. You can't just not protect me, can you?"
Ye Qing was speechlessly silent; his main role in protecting Lin Huayu was to ensure she wasn't kidnapped or met with any other danger. Who would have thought that before anything like that happened, he'd already be butting heads with other students at school? It seemed his role was turning out to be more like fighting over trifles than actual protection.
After Ye's intervention, the classroom's buzzing dwindled significantly—in fact, most students no longer dared to gossip.
Ye Qing sat next to Lin Huayu, his attention mainly focused on a young man in the corner. This youth was the same one he had seen in the canteen at noon, eating leftovers from other people's meals. Turned out he was a student here as well.
The young man sat alone in the corner, as solitary as a lone elephant, with nobody giving him a second glance. He seemed to prefer it this way, hunched over his desk, studying intently, and completely unaware of Ye Qing's gaze.
Sitting not far in front of him were three girls dressed flamboyantly, discussing something amongst themselves and occasionally pulling out mirrors to touch up their makeup. In stark contrast to the boy's plainness, the three girls were the epitome of gaudiness.
"Eww, what's that weird smell?" suddenly, one of the girls exclaimed, sniffing around as if she were searching for the source of the odor.
"Yeah, it smells like food, did someone bring their lunch into the classroom?" another girl complained.
The noise from the two girls quickly drew attention, with many students turning their heads and sniffing the air.
Ye Qing saw the cornered young man stealthily take a plastic bag out of his desk pouch, wrapping it in his clothes. But the girls were still sniffing around like hounds on the scent, inching closer to the young man's spot.
"It's coming from this direction!" a girl said, looking towards where the young man was sitting.
"Yeah, it's definitely from over there, no doubt!" the other girl concurred.
"Oh my, did you bring your lunch into the classroom!" the third girl said, covering her nose with a disgusted look, "This is a classroom, not a dining hall. Are you confused or something? How are we supposed to have class with this smell?"
All eyes turned to the young man, who was visibly embarrassed, trying to put on a smile to appease the others.
"You even have the nerve to smile about it. What do you think this classroom is!" one of the girls exclaimed loudly.
"Wang Tiezhu, what the hell is wrong with you? You brought food during our major's class last time, and here you are doing it again in this auditorium. Are you really that hungry?" a male student familiar with the youth shouted.
"Dump it out, hurry up and dump that out. With that smell in here, how can anyone focus on the class!" a girl demanded loudly.
"Seriously, where's your sense of public decency? This is a classroom, not your home. Can't you consider others for once?"
Wang Tiezhu was extremely embarrassed, but he still clutched the food to his chest, unwilling to let go, only managing an apologetic smile to the others.
The girl who had noticed first glowered at him, "You still have the cheek to smile. Throw it out now, class is about to start. Are you going to let us have class or not?"
Another girl exclaimed loudly, "What kind of manners are these? Are all country folks like you?"
"I think I saw him at noon eating leftovers from others in the cafeteria, so he must've collected that food," one noted.
"God, how dirty is that! What's the difference between him and a beggar?" another commented.
"He's from Pingnan Province, right? Isn't that just what people from Pingnan Province do? If they're not becoming swindlers, they're begging. What else can they do?" someone else remarked.
The crowd burst into a chorus of derision and sneering. Wang Tiezhu, sitting in the corner with a face red from embarrassment and hands and feet not knowing what to do, held the food in his arms unwilling to let go.
