Chapter 56: The Discovery in the CEO's Office
"Captain Wang, what do you think President Ouyang wants us for in her office?" Lin Hai asked, walking alongside Wang Dajun with a smile on his face.
In contrast, Wang Dajun's face was so gloomy it was as though water might drip from it, and he didn't respond to Lin Hai at all.
"Captain Wang, you look pretty awful. Did you exert yourself too much last night and end up spent?" Lin Hai half-jokingly said.
"Shameless!" Wang Dajun squeezed out these two words through his clenched teeth as a response to Lin Hai.
"Ouch, how am I shameless? Could it be that Captain Wang is still a virgin?" Lin Hai blinked and chuckled as he looked at him.
Before Wang Dajun could open his mouth, Lin Hai added, "Captain Wang, you should let off some steam once in a while, it's not good to hold it in."
"You!" Wang Dajun raised his fist; the guy in front of him was incredibly annoying. A soldier? How could he be so vulgar and devoid of any soldier-like demeanor?
"Ouch, my heart's weak, Captain Wang, please don't scare me, else you'd be the one in trouble," Lin Hai said boldly, puffing his chest toward the fist and smacking his lips.
Wang Dajun, with fist raised, frustratingly let it drop. His teeth clattered loudly, clearly almost driven to the edge by Lin Hai.
"Tsk tsk, President Ouyang really smells wonderful," Lin Hai put his hand close to his nose and sniffed, his face full of intoxicated appreciation and his eyes half-closed in admiration.
Wang Dajun halted, glaring at Lin Hai with near-flaming eyes.
"Why did you stop, Captain Wang? Do you want a sniff too? Sure, but it'll cost you," Lin Hai said with an 'I don't get your point' expression. Brought to you by the folks at MV|LEMPYR.
Is this guy really from the military? Could someone from the military be this sleazy? Inside, Wang Dajun not only looked down on Lin Hai but now also filled with disdain and scorn for his type.
A top-notch elite would never be tempted by women; those who are addicted to women rarely become true experts.
Wang Dajun only respects experts, no matter in what field or profession. He naturally has a repulsive feeling toward the weak, even a disdain to stand side by side with such people.
And the fact that this guy was fantasizing about President Ouyang—a sacred figure in Wang's heart whom no one should infringe upon—now made Wang want to punch Lin Hai on the spot.
"Captain Wang, I'll go in first. If President Ouyang asks why you're late, I can only say you were spacing out in the middle of the road and seemed to be fiddling with your fly... what's up with that?" Lin Hai's words floated teasingly into the furious ears of Wang Dajun.
Suppressing his inner fury, Wang Dajun gritted his teeth and hurriedly followed.
At the door of the President's office, there was no need for Lin Hai to knock; the female secretary outside, upon seeing Lin Hai, didn't ask questions—especially since today Lin Hai had really dealt with Bitch Li, news that spread quickly throughout the company.
And Bitch Li, who used to rely on her connections and her jealous feminine nature, often made things difficult for good-looking female colleagues in the company.
The secretary was also someone who had been a victim of Bitch Li's schemes, and now that Lin Hai had sorted her out, it felt like a revenge on behalf of her. She was too thankful to Lin Hai to even think of stopping him.
Moreover, the secretary had subtly heard that this new security guard, Lin Hai, had a quite unusual relationship with President Ouyang, naturally not someone she could afford to offend.
"Girl, I see your extraordinary features, a born beauty, well-developed indeed." Lin Hai teased the female secretary a few lines.
"Ah, Brother Lin you're so naughty," giggled the female secretary, who had never before found this young security guard noteworthy, but today found Lin Hai increasingly pleasant to the eye, and so she played along with him a bit.
Beside them, Wang Dajun snorted coldly through his nostrils, and through clenched teeth muttered: "Disgusting couple."
The female secretary happened to hear it, got upset immediately, put on a stern face, and blocked Wang Dajun, saying coldly with a professional smile: "Captain Wang, are you heading to the president's office?"
Perhaps due to the intimate atmosphere Lin Hai and the female secretary had just displayed, Wang Dajun responded indifferently with a nod, acknowledging the female secretary's question without giving any face.
"Captain Wang, do you have an appointment with the president?" the female secretary showed no intention of letting him pass.
Wang Dajun frowned, slightly annoyed, and said: "Since when do I need an appointment to enter the president's office?"
"Sorry, according to company policy, without a prior appointment, you cannot disturb the president. As head of the security department, you should strictly adhere to the company's rules."
"You!" Wang Dajun never expected to be given a hard time by a colleague, and angrily watched as Lin Hai swaggered into President Ouyang's office, asking: "Why can he go in?"
"Brother Lin just told me he was summoned by President Ouyang himself, so of course he can go in," said the female secretary nonchalantly.
"I was summoned by the president too!" Wang Dajun bit out each word.
"Oh, please wait a moment, let me verify." The female secretary leisurely played with her nails, took out a small mirror to comb her hair, and even applied some lipstick before finally picking up the phone.
After a slight delay, the female secretary showed a professional apologetic smile to Wang Dajun, gestured with her hand, and said: "Captain Wang, the president has instructed for you to come in immediately."
This run-around left Wang Dajun even more agitated. As he pushed open the door to the president's office, he saw Lin Hai nonchalantly leaning back in the president's chair, drinking water from the president's cup, and holding a cigarette in his hand, puffing away casually while occasionally swiping the screen of a tablet on the president's desk, looking quite content. Moreover, he didn't see President Ouyang in the office; it seemed he wasn't there at the moment.
Thinking back on how he'd been inconvenienced by the female secretary, and how the call actually did get through to the president's office, thus having delayed for so long, Wang Dajun surmised it must be the tricks of the person before him.
With that thought, Wang Dajun almost roared at Lin Hai: "Lin Hai, stand up immediately! As an employee of the company, how can you sit in President Ouyang's chair? Where do you place the company's discipline in your eyes? Do you understand what respect means?"
"Captain Wang, can you chill out? Wrongly accusing people can get you sued for defamation," Lin Hai said nonchalantly, sipping his tea, his legs propped up on the president's desk.
This gesture caused the muscles in Wang Dajun's face to twitch, looking absolutely livid.
"Lin Hai, get down now!"
Walking out from the restroom, Ouyang Xiaoya saw Lin Hai's current situation and almost flew into a rage. She had only asked him something inquiringly just before, and yet this guy had brazenly taken the opportunity to climb up, now arrogantly sitting in her place. The most infuriating part was, she couldn't really do anything to him.
"Hehe, boss... uh, President, didn't you ask me to carefully watch this video clip? I think now is when I'm at my most attentive, observing from multiple angles, tsk tsk, look inside, this person sneaked in looking very sneaky, definitely up to no good, huh? This scene looks quite like our company?" said Lin Hai, tossing away a cigarette butt, leaning closer to the tablet, and speaking in surprise.
Wang Dajun's eyebrows twitched, his previous anger swept away. Thinking that President Ouyang had personally summoned him and Lin Hai—the current deputy head of the security department—there must be an important matter, and connecting the dots with Lin Hai's words, he suddenly realized there could be a security loophole in the company, which he had failed to detect!
