Unwritten Desires

Chapter 26: Chapter 26

Eleanor

"What the hell is your problem?" I muttered harshly the second I was able to push Liam's hand off my mouth. "I decided to keep quiet and let you follow me around all the time but now you're even following me into the bathroom?" I spread out my arms as my brows dipped in annoyance.

"Are you crazy? What if someone sees you?" I seethed glancing around and thankfully no one was in the bathroom, or maybe they were and they were just really good at being quiet.

"Stop it." Liam spat under his breath, startling me.

Where was this coming from?

"What?" I recoiled slightly, a bit stunned.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about." His eyes drooped lazily as he slowly moved forward. "Stop it. I'll only tell you once and just in case you have forgotten I can end you and that little friend of yours in a blink of an eye. So if you treasure your life, stop playing games with me."

I get it now. He was just pretending my little pranks earlier weren't getting to him. I stifled a grin.

"Oh?" I raised my chin higher. "If you're so confident in your abilities then why haven't you done it then?" I questioned planting my hands on my waist. "Why haven't you ended our lives?" I rolled my eyes dramatically and stiffened when I heard him scoff.

"Oh." He assessed me with a scrutinizing gaze. "I thought I made it obvious enough. I never actually planned for anyone to know the truth but since you do, I guess I'm going to use you to my advantage."

My forehead creased in confusion.

Use me to his advantage??

"W…what are you talking about?"

"Oh you'll find out soon enough." A mocking grin tugged at his lips sending chills down my spine.

What the heck did he mean by I was going to find out soon enough? What was he planning to do??

"But for the meantime…" he said, his voice regaining the stern tone. "…I suggest you learn to stay in line so I wouldn't have to teach you things the hard way." He tilted his head slightly as he backed away, his fingers reaching for the door handle.

"This is the last warning I'm giving you, four eyes. Don't piss me off."

Just then the soft click of the lock on the bathroom door echoed in the silence and just when I had thought the whole drama was over, my eyes darted to the girl standing outside with her hand hovering over the door handle and her lips parted in stunned disbelief.

A crease formed between my brows as I registered the couple of other girls that were behind her.

I let out a loud huff.

Of course.

Of all the girls in the whole school, it just had to be Naomi who happened to be in front of the bathroom to see Liam and I inside together.

Ugh. That girl lived for drama, and knowing her, she wasn't going to let any of this slide. I could already feel the rumors brewing.

Our eyes locked onto each other for what felt like a second or two before darting to Liam who just brushed past them.

For once, I was in support of his mannerless attitude.

Rolling my eyes, I stormed out of the bathroom with one of my hands clutching onto my bag. My eyes immediately landed on Liam's retreating figure and a part of me wanted to walk up to him and show him that I wasn't the type to be talked to like that. But I just decided to let it go.

After all, no matter how much I ignored it, I knew he wasn't kidding when he said he could end my life in seconds…

A sudden chill ran up my spine.

…and that terrified me.

Few days passed and strangely enough, there were no rumors. I had already been prepared for the hushed whispers in the hallways and the side-eyes from people who usually fed off drama but no.

Nothing.

It wasn't making sense at all.

I was sure Naomi would have spread something by now and twisted the story to however she saw fit. But everything was weirdly…quiet.

Huh…strange.

Shaking off the thought, I focused on my notebook, tapping my pen lazily against my desk.

Just then Sofia leaned back on her chair letting out a loud sigh, "If I stare at this page any longer, I think my brain is going to melt." She twirled her pen between her fingers drawing a small laugh out of me.

"Oh come on Sof. It's not that hard." I smiled at her.

Sofia and I and a couple of other students had taken over an empty classroom to study. We weren't bothering each other, so the peaceful silence made it easier to concentrate.

"Says the girl who gets straight A's every semester." Sofia huffed.

If only she knew how hard it was for me to maintain Theadora's academic record.

In fact living Theadora's life itself was extremely overwhelming…

…but she didn't need to know that.

"You're saying it like it's easy." A sharp breath escaped my nose, something between a laugh and a scoff I guess.

"You act like it's easy." Sofia dropped her pen on the desk before crossing her arms over her chest.

"So…" I let out a small laugh. "…it doesn't mean it is."

"Why do we even have to study anyway?" Sofia queried before landing face first into her notes.

I ignored the questioning stares that were sent our way as I burst into laughter. "To get a job?" I lifted a brow as I tapped my pen against the desk.

Sofia then let out a low groan before turning to face the other side of the classroom. "Okay fine…we'll take a break."

The words didn't fully leave my lips before she jerked her head towards me. She was such a drama queen. "Yayy! Finally we get to go on a break." She grinned, dragging her notebook closer and slipping it into her bag. "Then we get back to suffering." She puffed.

I shook my head with a small laugh before stretching my arms over my head. My body ached from sitting in one position for too long. A break actually sounded nice besides, Sofia wasn't the only one who was having a hard time getting these stuff into her head.

And unlike her I still needed to study when I got home.

Ughhh.

Someone save me.
