UNTAMED: THE ALPHA

Chapter 518: NIKOLAI

While Skylar was able to make the people around her ignore her presence and change one's mind, Norbeat could possess other people's bodies. Not just humans, but also animals, that was his special ability. Thus, he was the least likely to be caught among them or to fail to trespass the border of the East Draghar country.

If Gael could do it safely, there was no reason for Norbeat to fail such a task. Moreover, this was not the first time for him to infiltrate a place, or a country.

"Aaron," Chaos said in a calm voice. His expression was placid, but there was a mix of emotions in his dark eyes.

"That's what I thought," Knox said. His expression was not different from Chaos, both of them looked similar if it was not for their physical difference.

Aaron had gotten a hold of the East Draghar long before they stepped foot here and established his influence. It was not surprising that he managed to manipulate those people in the organization to do his bidding, in order to achieve his goal.

On the other hand, Chaos didn't have such a systematic method or any other goal aside from collecting all of his shattered souls, yet Aaron always managed to from every direction to provoke Chaos and bring out the darkness inside of him.

In his mind, Chaos should live up to his name and bring chaos into this realm. It was really nonsense that he managed to repress such a dark desire for calamity for this long.

Aaron was a devil, a twisted one on top of that.

"What about Skylar and Gael?" Zuri asked, breaking the silence that ensued among them. If Norbeat was caught at the border, the same thing could happen to the two of them.

"I can't say for sure," Knox replied and then shifted his attention back to Chaos. His voice was so calm when he spoke, but there was a hint of aggravation in his tone. "Aaron has created this situation. Now, you are not just facing him alone, as he successfully made the whole realm turn against you."

Everyone knew Chaos and at this point, whether it was a supernatural creature or human being, they knew that Chaos was the epitome of the devil that could bring destruction, calamity to their realm, which had happened a few times in the past.

Even doing one such thing was enough for people to fear him, but at the same time, they had this desire to get rid of him and Aaron could make use of that. He was the master of manipulation.

Thankfully, because Chaos possessed the same ability as Skylar, he could walk around freely, without anyone paying much attention to him or realizing who he was, yet with Aaron in the picture, things wouldn't go smoothly.

Chaos couldn't go directly to Killian because the protection that surrounded the place prevented him from doing so and it was most likely Aaron's doing as well.

Right at that time, as Zuri was immersed in her own thoughts, while listening to the conversation between Knox and Chaos, her body stiffened. She sensed it first before she could see him.

Chaos was the first to notice her surprised expression and follow her line of sight. She stared at the main entrance, as if she were waiting for someone to walk in.

And not long after that, a young man entered this place, which made Zuri hold her breath. It was Nikolai.

He looked more mature than the last time they met, his face hardened, showing the hardships that he had to endure in order to survive in this world thus far. Based on the information that they got, he rose to be a high ranking member of the organization. Now, he was a commander of three thousand men as well as Sol's right hand man.

Zuri had been wondering what she would do if they met again. It was so ridiculous to say that they were friends. They were childhood friends once, close ones at that. Even when the last time they met, they could still call each other friends.

However, the situation was different now, their circumstances made it ridiculous to name their relationship as 'friends'.

"That's Nikolai, your childhood friend, right?" Knox nodded at Nikolai, who didn't even seem to notice they were here. He joined his friends and talked lightly with them, as he occasionally smiled and looked so carefree.

"Yeah," Zuri replied without any enthusiasm. It was only Chaos who knew he was his shattered soul, but Knox had a hunch about that. After all, he had chased down Chaos's shattered souls for centuries.

"He is Chaos's shattered soul, right?" Though Knox was asking, it sounded like a statement in Zuri's ears, as his eyes fixed on her to see her reaction when he blurted out the words.

Even now, Knox still believed that Eros was Chaos's shattered soul, though Zuri kept denying it and now his guess was right again.

Emily looked restless when she had to accompany Eros to meet with Xerxes again. She wanted to go inside with him, but Eros would say that he needed her to be onlook, just in case someone would come.

But, Emily thought it was highly unlikely for someone to come to this part of the pack and moreover, she felt like Eros only said that for her to stay away from the conversation that he would have with Xerxes.

Emily closed her eyes, she was trying to calm herself down, but she couldn't stop thinking about what Eros would converse with Xerxes. Would it be about Zuri again? What else did Eros want to know about that white beast?

Emily felt bitter to even think this way, she thought everything would go the way it was once they came back to the pack, but it didn't seem like that…

Right at that time, she heard someone approaching and she was too late to notice it.
