Unrivaled Comprehension: From Mortal to Immortal King

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: The Flower Blossoms at the Other Shore of Heaven

The experts of the Taishang Dao had failed to capture the young qilin in the Million Mountains and had now all returned. They were finally free to deal with Bai Yunfei.

Before, the Taishang Dao had intended to target Yuhua Sect, but they had needed the help of the Eighth-Rank Dao Ancestors from the Demon Sect. This showed that at the time, Taishang Dao had been short-handed. But now, with the return of their experts, Bai Yunfei was in great danger.

"I don't know where Bai Yunfei is, but if I've heard this news, he must know by now. I hope he hasn't been found by those Dao Ancestors from Taishang Dao," Lin Jiufeng said, his voice filled with concern.

Though worried, he had no way to help. He didn't know Bai Yunfei's location. If he did, he would go to him and offer some aid. For now, Lin Jiufeng could only continue his study of the Dao in the Scripture Pavilion, improving himself, and wait for Bai Yunfei to return.

Time passed in the blink of an eye, and summer arrived.

The trees around Yuhua Mountain flourished, the flowers bloomed, and everything seemed to come to life. The clouds rolled and covered the Scripture Pavilion, as if to shield it from the world.

On the peak of the pavilion, Lin Jiufeng and Bai Hu sat in peaceful meditation, quietly cultivating.

As the morning sun rose, Lin Jiufeng opened his eyes and gazed at Bai Hu, who had curled up into a ball. His expression softened with warmth.

Bai Hu's cultivation method was different from that of humans. She curled up to absorb the spiritual energy from the heavens and earth, transforming it into liquid form within her body.

Over the past month, although Bai Hu was still hesitant to get close to him, Lin Jiufeng could feel that she had begun to trust him, albeit in a simple way.

At the start, whenever Lin Jiufeng finished his meditation, Bai Hu would immediately end hers and run away, hiding from him. But now, when Lin Jiufeng completed his practice, Bai Hu would continue meditating—this was trust.

Lin Jiufeng didn't disturb her but instead looked at the rolling clouds.

The clouds in front of him swirled and blocked the sun, today the mist was particularly thick, changing shape with the winds.

"A month has passed, I wonder how Bai Yunfei is doing." Lin Jiufeng sighed, filled with concern.

A month ago, upon hearing that Taishang Dao's experts had returned from the Million Mountains, Lin Jiufeng knew that, given the Dao's tendency for retribution, they would certainly target Bai Yunfei. For the past month, he had sent out his spiritual consciousness each night, trying to gather information.

But there had been no news.

Neither Bai Yunfei nor Taishang Dao had any updates, which made Lin Jiufeng uneasy. All he could do was wait.

During this time, Lin Jiufeng worked tirelessly. He spent sleepless nights studying ancient texts, grounding himself in his cultivation at the peak of the Seventh-Rank, his Dao steadily approaching perfection. Yet, he still hadn't managed to break through to the Eighth-Rank.

Lin Jiufeng understood that breakthroughs couldn't be rushed. As he observed the changing clouds, he gradually fell into a state of enlightenment.

The clouds before him swirled into various forms: a fish, a giant ape, a divine dragon, a wild elephant…

Suddenly, a light breeze swept by, and the clouds converged into the shape of a flower.

The flower bloomed beautifully, glowing in the morning light, as if from another world.

Lin Jiufeng's eyes lit up. Before him appeared a line of words:

"By observing the sea of clouds, you have activated your extraordinary perception and gained enlightenment: the flower blooms at the other shore of heaven."

In that moment, Lin Jiufeng had an epiphany. A special rhythm of the Dao unfolded in his mind. After the flower bloomed, each petal represented a world. Stepping through these worlds would bring one to the other shore.

This insight fused with the previous Dao rhythms and visions Lin Jiufeng had encountered.

The moon rises over the sea, the golden lotus blooms in the sea of suffering, fish leap from the water, and flowers bloom on the other shore.

These were the Dao rhythms Lin Jiufeng had comprehended, along with a rain technique, although it wasn't very offensive, and thus wasn't included.

The four great Dao rhythms, or visions, resonated within Lin Jiufeng's being.

At this moment, he did not wake up from his meditation. Instead, he continued to contemplate, integrating the four Dao rhythms and visions into one.

A mysterious aura radiated from his body, causing Bai Hu to stir from her meditation. She observed him with suspicion but dared not disturb him. Instead, she quickly stepped back and kept her distance.

On the peak of the Scripture Pavilion, Lin Jiufeng sat cross-legged, his white robes glowing like an immortal. A strange magnetic field surrounded him, drawing in the spiritual energy from the heavens and earth, which gathered in the clouds.

As Lin Jiufeng meditated, the clouds shifted, and despite it being day, a bright full moon rose from the sea of clouds, casting a gentle light.

Under the moonlight, a golden lotus blossomed, and a large white fish leapt from the clouds, eyes filled with the forces of Yin and Yang, pulling a flower from the other shore into the air.

The scene was beyond beautiful, beyond this world.

Bai Hu stood mesmerized, unable to take her eyes off the unfolding spectacle. She was in awe of the beauty, yet unaware of the immense power behind the combination of these Dao rhythms and visions.

As evening arrived, the moon fully rose, and Lin Jiufeng finally woke from his trance. The clouds dissipated, the moon, golden lotus, white fish, and other shore flower vanished like a mirage.

Lin Jiufeng laughed heartily, feeling refreshed.

This breakthrough didn't push him past the threshold of the Eighth-Rank, but his strength, Dao, and spiritual power all saw a significant increase.

Previously, his strength had been equivalent to 500 dragons and 500 elephants. Now, it had surged to 1,000 dragons and 1,000 elephants. His spiritual strength had expanded to a range of 4,000 miles.

This level of power and spiritual reach surpassed most Eighth-Rank Dao Ancestors.

However, he still hadn't broken through—there was still a slight gap.

"Did you create the phenomena in the clouds?" Bai Hu asked slowly, approaching, her gaze filled with awe.

Lin Jiufeng nodded and replied, "That was my Dao enlightenment."

"Such a method... even immortals and gods would be hard-pressed to match," Bai Hu murmured.

"You're underestimating immortals and gods," Lin Jiufeng replied with a slight smile, about to say more, but then he suddenly felt a terrifying energy fluctuation coming from four thousand miles away, outside the Yuhua Mountain gates.

His spiritual sense instantly spread out and he saw eight Eighth-Rank Dao Ancestors from Taishang Dao surrounding Bai Yunfei.

Bai Yunfei was covered in blood, his face pale, his breath unstable, fighting alone against the eight, retreating as he made his way toward Yuhua Mountain.

The eight pursuing him were cold and ruthless, their movements sharp and synchronized, as if they shared one mind. They easily neutralized Bai Yunfei's attacks.

Even though Bai Yunfei possessed the Yuhua Ascension Scripture, it was of no use.

"Bai Yunfei, you can't escape. You will die today," one of the Dao Ancestors sneered.

"You die, and Yuhua Sect will disappear with you."

"But don't worry, we'll search your soul and take the Yuhua Ascension Scripture to pass down."

"Bai Yunfei, you're powerful, but we've been together since our training days, our minds are in sync. We've practiced the Formless Great Method for over a century. Together, we can even challenge the Ninth-Rank. Even if you have the Yuhua Ascension Scripture, you're still no match."

"Bai Yunfei, you shouldn't have offended Taishang Dao. We didn't have the resources to deal with you before, but now that we do, killing you will be like killing an ant."

The eight Dao Ancestors of Taishang Dao taunted Bai Yunfei, one after another.

Bai Yunfei didn't respond. His only hope now was to join forces with his senior brother, Lin Jiufeng, and break through the enemy ranks.
