Chapter 26: Chapter 26: The Rain Character Technique
Li Ninephoenix was very interested in what had happened three thousand years ago. He felt that the battle back then was no simple matter; otherwise, the contrast between the state of cultivation three thousand years ago and now wouldn't be so stark.
However, there were very few records about that period. It seemed as though someone had deliberately erased the events of those years. Even the books that did record them only had fragmented accounts and were very vague.
Li Ninephoenix searched through the Scripture Pavilion and the small world, finding only a few dozen books related to the battle from three thousand years ago. Most of these were shallow, merely stating that the battle was brutal and that it had destroyed the current cultivation world. Aside from this, there was very little information.
"Everything related to what happened three thousand years ago has been deliberately erased," Li Ninephoenix confirmed his suspicions. If no one had intentionally removed the records, then there would certainly be documentation, especially from the Yu Hua Sect. Although the sect was established after that battle, it was not far removed from it and has been passed down through the ages. Despite its decline, it hadn't been completely severed, so there was no reason for there to be absolutely no information.
"Whoever is behind erasing this history must be extremely formidable," Li Ninephoenix speculated. He kept this matter to himself for the time being. Since someone had deliberately erased the history, he could only wait to investigate further in the future.
For now, he needed to focus on strengthening himself. At the very least, he needed to break through to the Eighth Gate to not disappoint Bai Yunfei's trust.
With this matter pushed to the back of his mind, Li Ninephoenix became even more diligent in his cultivation. Every day, he read scriptures, meditated on the wisdom of past sages, and diligently refined his cultivation, organizing the techniques he had learned.
He also devoted time to studying calligraphy, cultivating his temperament. Additionally, he focused on comprehending the way of nature, gradually aligning his methods with the natural world.
He woke with the rising sun and meditated beneath the moon, as though he had truly become a recluse in the mountains, unaffected by worldly affairs, humbly seeking the way.
Furthermore, he didn't limit himself to just the Scripture Pavilion anymore. With the pressure from other forces near the sect now diverted to Bai Yunfei, no one dared approach the Yu Hua Sect, so he took the opportunity to wander around.
Although the Scripture Pavilion was excellent, with countless volumes of texts to study, sometimes it was necessary to embrace nature—to witness the changing seasons, watch the clouds shift, and observe the sun rise and set.
In this manner, time quietly passed.
One day, as the spring rain drizzled down, Li Ninephoenix stood in front of the Scripture Pavilion, watching the rain awaken the slumbering creatures and nourish the land. The traces of winter were washed away, and the new year arrived.
Li Ninephoenix stood there, radiating a mysterious aura—a reflection of all the insights he had accumulated over the past year.
Over the course of the year, Li Ninephoenix had never once activated his extraordinary insight. He wasn't in a rush; in fact, he was quite content. He believed in the principle of accumulating strength before making a breakthrough.
His thought was to turn all his accumulated wisdom into a single, earth-shattering insight. He was still in the process of accumulation.
Inside the Scripture Pavilion, Wen Xinyun and the other two children gathered together, gazing at Li Ninephoenix's back, murmuring.
"Although our Master is standing right there, I feel like he's so far away," Yue Dashan said.
"Yes, it feels like we're a lifetime away, even though it's only a few steps from here to the entrance," Zhou Tianzi nodded in agreement.
"Could Master be on the verge of breaking through again?" Wen Xinyun asked in surprise.
The three of them had grown completely over the past year. They had shed their childishness and were now all at the Fourth Gate level.
Yue Dashan, having practiced the Dragon Elephant Power, now had a terrifying strength, and his body had grown to three meters tall, making him look like a massive mountain, exuding an overwhelming presence.
Zhou Tianzi had practiced the Ten Kings of Hell and had made great strides. His aura was that of an earthly emperor, commanding great respect.
Wen Xinyun practiced the Tree Sword Technique, and she had grown even more ethereal, resembling a celestial fairy with her delicate beauty.
But now, when the three of them looked at Li Ninephoenix, they couldn't fathom him. They felt as though he was in a completely different world from them. Though he was so close, it was as if he were worlds away.
The rain continued to fall softly, and Li Ninephoenix, watching the spring rain, began to relax and open his mind, merging with the forces of nature.
At that moment, he exuded a mysterious aura, as if he had become one with the rain.
He felt the vitality of the spring rain, as well as its surging and violent power, like a tremendous wave.
Li Ninephoenix merged with the rain, as if a drop of water had entered the vast ocean, flowing with the current, swept away by its power.
He sensed the changes within it.
Gradually, Li Ninephoenix raised his hand, gently drawing in the air. Dao patterns rippled, forming a symbolic seal.
"Rain can encompass all things. It can be gentle, it can be violent, it can be peaceful, or it can be filled with hidden currents," he thought deeply.
"Rain can merge with all things, or it can transcend all things."
Li Ninephoenix carefully absorbed this insight, and words appeared in his mind:
"You have accumulated profound knowledge and activated your extraordinary insight. You have comprehended the Rain Character Technique."
Li Ninephoenix opened his eyes and saw the message. Then he looked at the Dao symbol he had just drawn.
This was the Rain Character Technique he had comprehended.
With a gentle push, the Rain Character Technique shot forward and merged with the falling spring rain.
Boom!
Then, a torrential downpour began. In an instant, lightning flashed and thunder roared as the rain poured down.
Along with the rain came an immense surge of spiritual energy, cascading down with the storm.
Li Ninephoenix watched in surprise. "The Rain Character Technique I've comprehended actually causes spiritual energy to fall. This is incredible!"
The spiritual energy in this rain was several times more potent than usual. Li Ninephoenix could tell that this was not ordinary spiritual energy—it was energy from the heavens, something newly manifested.
After a few breaths, Li Ninephoenix felt the energy within him surging and rising.
He immediately turned around and shouted, "You three, quickly come over, sit cross-legged, and absorb the spiritual energy. This is an opportunity!"
The three children rushed over, feeling the overwhelming spiritual energy in the rain. Just one breath of it felt like half an hour of cultivation.
The next moment, their faces lit up with joy, and they sat down next to Li Ninephoenix, activating their cultivation techniques to absorb the spiritual energy and increase their power.
Li Ninephoenix also absorbed the spiritual energy, but instead of competing with the children, he sent his spiritual consciousness into the void, merging with the torrential rain to absorb even higher-level spiritual energy.
In that moment, his cultivation, which had been stagnating for a year, began to loosen and slowly rise.
