Chapter 319: The Last Piece?
'Before a person arrives somewhere, their intention to reach that place is already there. All I have to do is grasp that intention.' What he planned was an elaborate prediction because reading the future wasn't possible. The Shop provided several protections when the operator was inside.
If someone else aside from him tried to do this, they would find themselves in an unsolvable problem. But, he rearranged the spell and rewrote the ticket in 10 minutes flat.
Grayfia came out of her thoughts as he stood up. She wondered what he planned to do with the pitch-black ticket with golden lines in his hand. It gave her an ominous feeling, but she tried to not show it.
'Master worked on it for some time, what does he plan to do with it? It shouldn't be anything harmful to him right?' Watching his calm demeanor Grayfia decided to not ask about it.
The ticket flew out of his hand and expanded to create a black blot on the space it occupied. Appearing like an unwashable stain it pricked her consciousness as it made the room look dirty. But, she also gulped feeling the cold energy that tried to seep into her. Even if it couldn't go past the barrier around her, she felt the fear.
However, she couldn't focus much on that. Adam turned to her and extended his hand.
"Let's go and catch some fresh air." His words did come as a surprise. She didn't think of it as a portal, instead, it looked like a demon-summoning spell. The bigger surprise came in the form of that outstretched hand.
But, thinking about it again, this made sense. If Adam summoned a portal, he had to go somewhere. And if he had to go somewhere, bringing her along was a no-brainer.
'A maid has to stay by her Master's side at all times.' Grayfia held the hand with all her strength.
"As you wish, Master." With him leading her into the black portal, she felt the uneasiness in her chest vanish.
Everything in her vision darkened to the point that she couldn't see her hand if she pressed it against her eyes. Slight coldness pricked her skin and his hand, aside from that nothing else. Though the dark lasted only for a few seconds, the blinding light returned.
Yet, what waited in front was an endless expanse of dark with dots of lights in the distance. Below her feet was a rocky surface and if she didn't do anything her body might float away.
'I am in space…' Feeling the breath in her lungs she turned to Adam who sorted this and also vanquished the pressure she should've felt.
Something walked out from the dark side of this rocky planet. A giant creature with rose gold eyes and a long snout, his black scales gleamed as the huge wings spread behind. His footsteps sent tremors through the ground as his enormous form became smaller with each step. Before long he arrived in front of them with a stature similar to a human, as for his appearance.
'Master…' Grayfia's eyes widened as the man resembled Adam to an uncanny degree. The only change came from the opposite colored hair.
"Is this your way of joking, Administrator?" Adam's flat voice made the man shake his head.
"My true form isn't one to show in front of guests. So in haste, I ended up copying your appearance." The man said in an equally dead tone. However, this didn't seem to bother Adam much.
"I see then, I hope you don't have a problem with me entering this universe." He drove to the point without wasting time.
"As long as you do not breach the rules in place, I have no complaints. Of course, it extends to your companion as well." The Administrator smiled.
"That's settled then. We're just here for sightseeing. Rest assured that I will adhere to the rules. Anything I need to know?" Adam smiled too.
"Nothing else, if there are any problems I'd be sure to contact you, directly. I wish you two a smooth journey." The Administrator said before the two vanished.
Watching the now empty space the Administrator's form wriggled. His neck snapped and extended upwards. His arms wrapped around his body, his legs bent at impossible angles as his clothes discolored. His body twisted on itself creating a lump of meat that expanded wider than the rocky planet below.
Soon the mass moved and took the shape of a humanoid entity. Yet, the last thing it looked like was a human. Numerous spiraling spots stacked on top of each other on the surface of his body.
It had no eyes, but it looked upwards. It had no mouth yet it spoke.
"So, he is here…"
"The last piece… is here." The administrator rejoiced.

"Do you think he is hiding something?" Adam turned to his maid who cleared her throat.
He noticed her unease since the moment that the Administrator arrived. Although he knew that such pressure could adversely affect her, he was sure to wrap her in a stronger barrier to prevent it. As the Administrator was stronger, it also had more control over its space so it wouldn't have hurt her either. Yet, her worries lay elsewhere so he asked.
"I can't say for certain Master, I apologize for that." Grayfia had a gut feeling.
She ended up wondering why that Administrator put up such a show, even copying Adam's appearance. But even more than that, his reaction became imprinted in her mind.
"You don't need to apologize, I know he is shady. That's how I know I came to the right place." Adam smiled.
He felt that familiar divinity from this world. He'd meet that other shop operator here.
"I understand Master." Grayfia didn't know his plan, but her task wasn't to worry about that, "This place is a bit too trashed and dirty for Master, shall I go and find appropriate housing?"
Although the wide streets and tall buildings with large billboards suggested this was a big city. The deathly silence around this place could make ghosts uneasy. Even the streets had big potholes in them as parts of several buildings were strewn across the ground. It was like someone had taken chunks out of them.
"Looks like something fun is happening ahead, let's check it first." Adam turned to the right. He felt some presence full of life and malice that way. As for the normal humans they seemed to continue their lives beyond this block.
'This looks like a normal day for them.' He thought watching the battle in the street below from a high-rise building.
Down there a buff man with hands as wide as his body slapped several people who dressed up funny, spandex, and whatnot.
"I, the Giant Tuna Catcher will smash everything up! You bastard keep driving the prices up but pay us in dirt! I will let you feel the strength of those hands that fed you till now!!"
