Chapter 19: Fansign
The situation was no less chaotic when the two of them entered. Several women even screamed as they stared at the two charming men who had just entered the venue.
Initially, Victor tried to ignore the women who screamed when they saw him walk in. He had received many adoring gazes from both men and women. However, this was the first time someone had dared to scream in admiration in front of him as if he were a public spectacle.
Although he was known to be handsome, people usually wouldn't admire him directly because they knew who Victor was. But in that place, where Victor felt like he was coming to his friend's birthday party when he was five years old, for the first time, people weren't afraid to show their interest right in front of his face.
"You came for your girlfriend?"
Victor's eyebrows immediately furrowed when a girl sitting next to him suddenly asked him in a friendly tone. Victor didn't want to say anything to a stranger, so Leon had to take over by moving his body forward a little so that the girl could see him too.
"Ah, my boss is a fan of Mia. This is the first time he's been able to come to a fan sign event. It's my first time too. Sorry if we caused a scene."
Compared to Victor, Leon kindly smiled at the young girl when he answered her question. Hearing Leon's explanation, the girl finally nodded. No wonder Victor looked out of place at the event. The girl thought as her eyes once again looked at Victor, who seemed uncomfortable with her gaze.
"Sorry if you think I'm rude. In this fan sign event, we usually relax and get to know each other. We usually form a community to discuss Mia and exchange information at this event. Usually, those who come to Mia's fan sign are truly loyal to her. Getting tickets to her fan sign is very difficult. Only Mia's true fans can come to this place," the girl explained. Leon nodded in understanding after hearing the girl's explanation, while Victor just crossed his arms without saying anything.
Fortunately, Victor's impatience was erased when the fan sign event officially began not long after that. His annoyed expression immediately faded when Mia finally entered their room. However, his face darkened again when the sound of other fans' screams seemed to try to deafen his hearing.
Leon, who was sitting next to Victor, could only smile stiffly when his instincts could tell that his boss was starting to dislike the fan sign event. His boss hated noise. However, in that place, Victor had to hear the screams of many people calling Mia in adoring voices.
Mia, who was attracting Victor's attention.
Victor's face kept changing throughout the fan sign event. His face looked annoyed when his eyes caught the eyes of people who kept staring at Mia with adoring gazes, then relaxed again when Mia, who was standing in front, started to smile or sing for her fans. The extreme changes in expression sometimes scared Leon, but the man tried to act normal as his eyes enjoyed the fan sign that he had always wanted to attend since long ago.
When the autograph session finally arrived, Leon, who seemed to remember something, immediately took something out of the bag he had prepared since yesterday. Leon handed an album to Victor, along with another box as a gift that Victor would give to Mia.
After getting his ticket, Leon was ordered by Victor to find the right gift for Mia after Victor secretly traced what people usually do at fan sign events on his initiative. Leon had quite a hard time carrying out Victor's orders. Leon secretly wanted to cry when he handed the gift that Victor had chosen very carefully to the man.
Unlike Leon, who looked excessive, Victor just took the two items calmly. He stood up when Leon, who was next to him, also stood up because that meant that their part to approach Mia had finally arrived.
Mia, who was still smiling after serving the fan in front of her, looked surprised when Victor finally got his turn. She never knew Victor would come to her event because Victor and Leon had been wearing sunglasses to cover part of their faces since they were getting out of the car. But no matter how surprised she was to see Victor at her event, her sweet face immediately showed a wide smile as she looked at Victor with a happy and relieved look.
"Why didn't you ever contact me?"
Mia didn't have a chance to say anything when Victor immediately spoke up as he quietly took off his glasses. The two of them just stared at each other when some fans started to sound enthusiastic behind them until Leon had to take the initiative to hand over the album that Victor brought for the girl to sign so that they wouldn't raise any suspicions in front of the other fans who were watching their interaction.
After being handed the album like that, Mia finally came back to her senses and started to sign the latest album that Victor brought. As her hands continued to move, Mia secretly looked at Victor, who was in front of her. The man just stayed silent even after Mia secretly glanced at him like that. Maybe still upset because Mia had not contacted him again like the girl promised.
"I'm sorry, Victor. I somehow lost your card that night. It wasn't my intention to break my promise like that. I also feel guilty for carelessly losing your card like that. Previously, I tried to contact you through Enzo. But Enzo kept saying that you were busy, so I couldn't meet you in person," Mia said regretfully. Her explanation stopped when her hand had finished signing the front of the album that Victor brought.
Mia looked a little sad when Victor still wouldn't talk to her. Luckily, Victor's body was enough to block others from seeing the singer's expression for a while, or Mia's fans would have to watch someone make their idol sad at her special event.
Mia's face turned confused when Victor suddenly pointed to the empty part of the album he was carrying. As if he knew Mia didn't understand what he meant, Victor emphasized his actions once again.
"Your number, write it here. I'll be the first to call you after this," the man said. Staff was just about to step forward to warn Victor for breaking the fan sign rules when Mia immediately stopped him swiftly.
"He's an acquaintance of mine. It's okay. I'll give him my personal number without anyone knowing," Mia said. Even though it was against the rules, the staff backed down again because Mia herself had said so. He didn't want to take the risk of offending Mia. Everyone in the agency knew that even their agency's CEO would be speechless in front of Mia.
"Here, please forgive me once again. If possible, please don't show this album to anyone while you're here. As you see, giving a phone number at an event like this is a violation."
After writing her personal phone number on Victor's album, Mia handed the album back to Victor in a natural way so as not to be suspected by her other fans. Mia also didn't forget to warn the man, which was answered with a nod of understanding by Victor, who was suddenly in a good mood.
Violation. Does that mean only Victor can get the phone number at this fan sign event, right?
Victor happily took the album, then handed over the box he brought for Mia.
"A gift for you."
Mia accepted the gift wholeheartedly. Her face changed to surprise when she found a jade statue decorated with diamonds in the box. The statue was a portrait of herself singing, complete with a mic covered in diamonds and a smiling expression that was depicted very beautifully.
"Leon said that usually, someone gives you a gift at your fan sign event."
Mia's cheeks immediately turned red when Victor explained the meaning of his gift with a calm face. She was used to receiving expensive gifts from her fans. But only Victor's gift made her heart beat harder.
"Thank you, Victor. I really like it," Mia said sincerely. Victor replied to that with a thin smile. His heart suddenly felt lighter when he felt that Mia had given him the best smile she could give for today.
"I'll call you after this," Victor whispered as he left because his time to talk to Mia was finally over.
