Ultimate Spin System: Ero Spin?

Chapter 6: Chapter 06 - Lose a Leg?

The next morning, Lucas was woken up by the sound of a system notification echoing in his head. He blinked slowly, still half-asleep, as a holographic screen popped up in front of him.

---

[New Task Activated!]

Title: "Morning Steps"

Description: Start your day healthier! Go jogging for one full hour in the morning.

Reward: 150 XP, 1 Spin Token.

Failure Penalty: Lose your left leg for one week.

Time Limit: 3 hours.

---

Lucas read the notification with a blank stare. "Morning jogging? Are you kidding me? I don't even like exercise!"

He flopped back onto his bed, trying to ignore the task, but the system wasn't about to let him off so easily.

[Warning: Time to start the quest: 2 hours 50 minutes.]

Lucas let out a long sigh. "Seriously, system? If I don't jog, I lose a leg? That's… definitely a threat."

He tried convincing himself to ignore it, but the thought of hobbling around on one leg for a week—even in the comfort of his apartment—was too much of a hassle.

"Fine, system. You win this round," he muttered, pulling on his sneakers.

Lucas stepped out of his apartment and took a deep breath of fresh morning air. The sun was just rising, painting the sky with streaks of orange. The streets were quiet, with only a few people walking their dogs or enjoying the peaceful morning.

He started jogging slowly, his steps awkward and uncoordinated. His muscles, unaccustomed to physical activity, protested almost immediately. "This system really wants me to suffer, huh," he grumbled under his breath.

After a few minutes, a holographic timer appeared in the corner of his vision.

[Time Remaining: 55 minutes.]

Lucas groaned. "What? It's only been five minutes? It feels like I've been running for half a day!"

He kept going at a slow pace, passing through a small park filled with trees. There were a few other joggers around, some of whom glanced at him, their gazes lingering on his rainbow-colored hair that shimmered like a hologram under the sunlight.

One of them, a middle-aged man in a cap and workout clothes, approached him with a friendly smile. "Hey, kid! Cool hair. How'd you get it to look like that?"

Lucas chuckled nervously, trying to hide his embarrassment. "Oh, uh… experimental dye job. Didn't exactly go as planned."

The man laughed and jogged off, leaving Lucas to continue at his slow pace. After a few more minutes, he started to feel more comfortable, his body gradually adjusting to the rhythm.

About 45 minutes into his jog, Lucas felt exhausted. But when he checked the holographic display, it showed he only had 15 minutes left to complete the task. Determined to finish, he picked up his pace, eager to end his suffering.

As he jogged along a quiet path, something unusual caught his eye near a large tree. A wallet lay on the ground, looking like it had just been dropped.

Lucas stopped, raising an eyebrow as he picked it up. "Huh? Whose wallet is this?" He opened it and found an ID card, cash, and a few credit cards inside.

The name on the ID read Clara Hill—his neighbor from the apartment next door. Lucas chuckled softly, shaking his head. "What a small world."

He slipped the wallet into his hoodie pocket, deciding to return it to her after finishing his jog.

As Lucas continued jogging through the park, he started noticing more stares directed his way. A group of teenagers sitting on a bench whispered among themselves, occasionally pointing at him.

"Look, it's him!" one of them said to her friend, a girl with dyed purple hair. "He's definitely one of those extreme activists. His rainbow hair says it all!"

Lucas overheard the comment and nearly choked on air. Extreme activist? Rainbow? Are they serious? he thought, rolling his eyes. He kept running, trying to ignore them.

The whispers grew louder, and one of the teenage boys, looking bolder than the others, stepped forward and stared at Lucas with raised eyebrows.

"Hey, man!" he called out, his tone slightly accusatory. "You trying to preach something to the kids here? Don't cause trouble, alright?"

Lucas stopped, turning to face the boy with an arched eyebrow. He understood the misunderstanding—his rainbow hair was definitely eye-catching, and they had clearly jumped to conclusions. But he was too tired to explain.

He sighed and said, "Relax, kid. I'm just here to sweat, not start a movement."

The boy looked confused, while the others started giggling. The purple-haired girl gave Lucas a worried glance and muttered, "If something's wrong, just tell the park security, okay?" before dragging her friends away.

Lucas stood there for a moment, shaking his head. Park security? Wow. Do they think I'm some kind of visual rebel or something? he thought.

He resumed jogging, but this time he noticed an older man sitting on a park bench glaring at him with disdain. The man turned his head away in disgust, as if Lucas was a piece of trash passing by.

Lucas chose not to react outwardly, but in his mind, he couldn't resist a sarcastic comment.

"Oh, sorry, sir. I didn't realize my hair was more fascinating than your miserable life," he thought as he jogged past.

Despite the annoyances, Lucas decided not to let it bother him. He knew his rainbow hair was just a silly punishment from the system, and trying to explain it would only make him seem weirder. All he could do was finish the task and hope the day would end without more drama.

As Lucas finally returned to his apartment, the holographic display popped up in front of him.

[Task Completed. Congratulations, you've earned 150 XP and 1 Spin Token!]

Lucas smiled, satisfied. "Alright, that wasn't so bad. At least I don't have to lose a leg."

He collapsed onto his couch, thinking about his next move. But before he could fully relax, another notification appeared on the screen.

[DING!]

[Host, don't forget to return the wallet.]

Lucas glanced at the holographic reminder, the simple message enough to make him feel uneasy. "Right… time to deal with Clara."
