Chapter 228: Taking A Vacation, London!
After leaving the school grounds with Emily, Noah's demeanour remained calm and composed, a stark contrast to the whirlwind his name was causing throughout the country.
The media frenzy that had started with the live broadcast of his perfect exam scores had now taken on a life of its own. Journalists, social media influencers, and news anchors were all abuzz with discussions about his achievements, painting him as a prodigy, a young man destined for greatness.
On every news channel and online platform, headlines screamed his name:
"Noah Thompson: The Boy Wonder with Perfect Scores!"
"Teen Prodigy Breaks Records – Meet Noah Thompson, the Young Entrepreneur!"
"From Academic Genius to Hotel Owner – Is Noah Thompson the Future of Business?"
Clips of the live broadcast circulated endlessly, with Olivia's stunned reaction to Noah's scores becoming a viral sensation. The sight of him standing confidently, delivering his lines with calm poise, only added to his allure.
Speculations about his wealth, his businesses, and his personal life dominated dinner table conversations and social media feeds alike.
On platforms like Bird, hashtags like #NoahThompson, #TeenProdigy, and #BoyWonder trended for hours. Some users praised his brilliance:
"Noah Thompson is an inspiration. Perfect scores, a business empire—what can't this guy do?"
"Move over celebrities. Noah Thompson is the real star we should all be looking up to!"
"Is Noah Thompson even real? Or is he just an AI that the government made to show off?"
"This guy probably invented the cure for procrastination too."
Memes popped up, with one particularly popular image captioned. "Noah Thompson opening his results while the rest of us pray for a passing grade."
Unaware of the growing spotlight, Noah strolled down the sidewalk with Emily, her laughter filling the air as they shared a carefree moment.
...
After driving back to their apartment, Noah parked the car and took the elevator to his parent's floor. Emily clung to his side, her excitement barely contained as they reached the door.
A few seconds after knocking, the door swung open to reveal Caroline. Her expression immediately shifted to concern. "Noah? How was it? Did you do well? Tell me, son!"
"Calm down, Mom," Noah said, holding up his hands. "One question at a time, please."
Emily, standing beside him, practically vibrated with excitement. "Didn't you see him on tel—"
Before she could finish, Noah clamped a hand over her mouth. "Not a word, Em," he said, giving her a pointed look.
Caroline tilted her head, looking at them suspiciously. "Huh? Saw him where? What's going on? Are you hiding something from me?"
Emily, her words muffled by Noah's hand, shook her head vigorously, her eyes darting toward Caroline.
"Noah," Caroline said, her tone growing worried. "You're scaring me now. Did you… not do well?"
David appeared from the living room, a mug of tea in his hand. "What's all the commotion about? Let them come inside first, Caroline. They're standing in the hallway like delivery people."
Caroline sighed, stepping aside to let them in. "Fine, but I want answers!"
As soon as the door closed, Emily wriggled free from Noah's grip. "Mom, he got perfect scores! In everything! And it was on TV!"
Caroline froze mid-step, turning slowly toward Noah. "What did she just say? Perfect scores? On TV?"
David paused, his mug halfway to his lips. "TV? What's this about, Noah?"
Noah sighed, scratching the back of his neck. "Yes, Mom, I got perfect scores. And yes, there were reporters there. But really, it's not a big deal—"
"Not a big deal?!" Caroline's voice rose an octave. "My son gets perfect scores, becomes a national sensation, and you think that's not a big deal?!"
David chuckled, shaking his head. "Leave it to Noah to downplay something like that."
Emily beamed. "Mom, the reporters couldn't believe it. They were asking him all kinds of questions. And guess what? He even said, 'I aspire to inspire.' Isn't that cool?"
Caroline's eyes began to melt over as she pulled Noah into a tight hug. "Oh, my boy! I'm so proud of you."
"Mom… oxygen…" Noah choked out, patting her back awkwardly.
Caroline released him, stepping back with her hands on her hips. "You should've told me! I'd have been there to cheer you on!"
"I didn't know there'd be reporters, Mom," Noah said, exasperated.
David clapped his hands together, his face lighting up. "Alright, everyone, listen up! This calls for a celebration!"
Caroline tilted her head, curious. "Oh? What do you have in mind, David?"
David raised a finger dramatically, as though announcing a royal decree. "Pack your bags, everyone. We're going on a holiday to… LONDON!"
The room froze for a split second before Emily erupted in excitement. "London?! Big Ben? The London Eye? The double-decker buses? Really? Really?!"
David nodded with a grin. "Really, kiddo! I've already been thinking about it for a while, but Noah's results are the perfect excuse. What better way to celebrate than a family trip?"
Emily jumped up and down, her energy infectious. "Yes! Yes! Yes! This is going to be amazing! I want to ride the big wheel, see the tower bridge, and—and eat those giant pretzels from the street carts!"
Caroline's excitement began to show as well. "David, are you serious? London? You've been holding out on us!"
David chuckled, shrugging. "I like to keep a few surprises up my sleeve. Plus, it's long overdue. We haven't had a proper family vacation in ages."
Caroline nodded in agreement, already mentally making a checklist. "You're absolutely right. Oh, I need to make sure we pack enough warm clothes. London can get chilly."
Emily turned to Noah, her eyes shining with joy. "Noah, you're coming, right? Right? You have to come!"
Noah smirked, shaking his head at her enthusiasm. "Do I even have a choice? Sounds like I'm being dragged along whether I want to or not."
"Dragged along?!" Emily gasped dramatically, clutching her chest. "How can you say that about LONDON?!"

Noah chuckled. "Alright, calm down. I'm coming. Someone has to keep you out of trouble."
Emily grinned ear to ear. "Yes! You're the best, big brother!"
David clapped his hands again. "Alright, troops! Let's get moving. We leave tomorrow morning! Pack your bags tonight. Emily, no bringing your entire toy collection."
"Hey!" Emily protested, pouting. "I only bring the essentials!"
Caroline laughed, patting her husband's arm. "And you, Mr. Planner, make sure you've booked the flights and hotel."
David gave her a mock salute. "Already done, General."
Caroline shook her head fondly, then turned to Noah. "You've had a big day, so don't overdo it. Pack what you need, and let me know if there's anything you're missing."
Noah nodded. "Don't worry, Mom. I've got it under control."
Emily, at her room's door shouted, her voice echoing through the house. "I'm packing everything pink! London, here we come!"
His mom went on her phone, scrolling through social media to find Noah's interview. It didn't take long—his name was trending everywhere. She clicked on a live clip and began watching, her smile fading slightly as the mention of the hotel and Lykan Hypersport came up.
"Noah?" Caroline called, her tone sharp with concern. "Do you really own the hotel? And that car—why did you lie about these things? What if the owner comes after you?"
Noah sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Mom, I'm not lying. I do own it—or at least part of it. I'm the largest shareholder of Crown Veridian Hotel."
Caroline's eyebrows shot up in disbelief. "How? Where did you even get the money to buy shares in a five-star hotel?"
"I sold one of my inventions," Noah replied calmly. "It gave me enough capital to acquire the shares."
"Inventions? What kind of invention makes that much money?" Caroline pressed, still sceptical.
Noah smirked knowingly and turned to his dad. "Ask Dad about the phone I gave him."
Caroline glanced at David, who was already pulling out the sleek, futuristic device Noah had given him. "I'm assuming you're talking about this?" David said, holding up the phone with the advanced AI assistant.
Caroline leaned in to get a better look. "It's just a phone. How could a phone be worth millions? It looks fancy, sure, but it's still a phone, right?"
"Not just a phone," Noah said, leaning back with a confident grin. "Dad, why don't you show her what it can do? Let her ask the AI something."
David tapped the screen, and the holographic AI assistant appeared above the device. Caroline gasped, stepping back slightly. "What on earth… is that a hologram?"
The AI smiled warmly. "Hello, Caroline. How may I assist you today?"
Caroline blinked in disbelief. "Wait, it knows my name?"
David chuckled. "It remembers people it interacts with. Go ahead, ask it anything."
Still hesitant, Caroline asked, "Alright, uh… AI, can you tell me the weather forecast for London this weekend?"
The hologram responded almost instantly. "This weekend, London will have mild temperatures with occasional light rain. I recommend bringing an umbrella but expect mostly pleasant weather."
Caroline's mouth fell open. "Okay, that's impressive. But there are other devices that can do that. What makes this so special?"
"Ask it something harder," Noah prompted, his smirk widening.
Caroline thought for a moment, then said, "AI, plan a one-week trip to London for a family of four, including accommodations, dining, sightseeing, and transportation, all within a $5,000 budget."
The hologram's serene smile remained as it replied, "One moment, please." After a few seconds, it began to list a detailed itinerary:
"Day one: Arrival and check-in at a family-friendly hotel in central London. An evening stroll along the Thames with dinner at a casual riverside restaurant."
The hologram kept going on, until the last day.
"Total estimated cost: $4,850, including accommodations, meals, and travel."
