Two Weeks Between Love and Hate

Chapter 51: So Long and Thanks for All the f-...well So Long at Least.

Love... What the hell even was love? You can’t hold it, taste it, or see it but you can feel it. We make such a big deal out of this little four-letter word. Say it too soon, you’re clingy. Say it too late, you’re distant. For some reason, timing is a huge deal, which makes figuring out when it’s okay to tell the other person far more complicated than it has to be. A lot of people end up resenting love and giving up on it. But…that one moment where everything comes together, and you’re praying they feel the same and they love you back…when it finally comes out... nothing compares to it.

The small room was filled with long, heavy gasps and pants as Jillian lay on the bed, struggling for air. Jason lay on top of her, his arms loosely wrapped around her body. Their sweat coated bodies pressed together as his dick was nestled deep in the warm embrace of her tunnel.

“Jase... I... I...”

“I love you too,” he interrupted, turning to kiss her neck repeatedly.

“N-not… what I was going to say, but I guess that works,” Jillian teased with a soft chuckle, still trying to catch her breath. She then lifted her chin to give him better access to her pale, freckled neck as he nibbled and sucked gently like he was her sexy vampire.

Jason eventually lifted his lips from Jillian’s neck and laughed a little as he gazed at her. “Haha, sorry. What were you gonna say?”

His hair was damp with sweat, a few droplets trickled down his face. She looked back at him, her breaths deep and steady, her arms shifting from around his waist to around his neck.

“I was gonna say I’m so friggin’ sore,” she revealed, and they shared a small laugh before sharing another deep kiss, their naked bodies pressed close once more.

“I do love you though... God, it just feels so good to say it and actually mean it,” she confessed, and Jason nodded in agreement.

“I don’t want to lose this feeling, so… maybe we should save it for when we’re together,” Jillian suggested. Jason raised an eyebrow at Jillian’s suggestion, giving her a puzzled look.

“What do you mean together?” he asked, a bit confused.

“Like, what if we only said it when we were actually together? You know, face-to-face. So it keeps its special meaning while we are apart. And when we see each other again, it’s this amazing crescendo when we can finally say it again,” she explained, her smile tinged with a hint of worry. He just shrugged.

“If that’s what you want, I can go with it. I do wonder how long you will last, though,” he said, leaning in for a kiss, but his lips pressed against her cheek instead as she turned away from him.

He pulled back, and looked down at her, his confusion returning. The familiar annoyed expression she wore was probably the one he saw the most in their relationship. They may be a couple now but that didn’t change her stubborn nature. Not that he would want to change it.

“What?” He asked with a small sigh.

”Don’t just go along with everything I say. If something bothers you, tell me. If we’re gonna make this work, we’ve gotta treat it like a team effort. I want this to last, damn it,” Jillian said, playfully scolding him. Jason couldn’t help but roll his eyes a little.

“Since when have I ever just gone along with stuff I didn’t want to do or didn’t like?”

There was a brief pause as Jillian shot him a pointed look.

“Okay, scratch that. Forget I asked,” he quickly added, realizing she had plenty of examples to prove him wrong.

“Look, babe, I promise it’s totally fine. I’m not really used to saying it anyway, so it works out fine for me if you wanna hold back while we’re apart. I’ll make sure to get all my ‘I love you’s out before I go.” Jason said, trying to ease her worries, and she gave him a strained look in return.

“One more thing,” she suddenly added.

“Yeah?”

“How are you still fuckin’ hard?”

The question made him feel a bit embarrassed, but he just shrugged, “I… haven’t cum yet,” he admitted almost shyly. Her eyes widened at his confession.

“We’ve been at it since we woke up. It’s been over an hour?!”

She was shocked, and her poor, sore lady bits were already crying out for mercy.

“I’ve been slowing down or pulling out whenever I get close. I wanted to keep going.”

“Good lord, just what kind of beast have I awoken?” She tapped his arm, signaling for him to move as he reluctantly withdrew his length from her, making her let out a breath of relief as he rolled over onto his back.

“Sorry... I really enjoy…spending this time with you.”

Even after all their intimacy, he still found it hard to talk dirty.

“I feel the same, but honestly, getting fucked by that thing so frequently feels like someone lit a fire on my crotch,” she confessed as she got up from the bed for a moment.

Jason was taken aback by Jillian’s confession of how much discomfort she was in.

“Oh shit, it’s that bad? I feel awful for not realizing you were hurting so much. My pelvis is sore as well, and my dick feels a little numb, but I didn’t think you were that bad,” he said, genuinely sorry. “You should have told me sooner, babe.”

Jillian turned to him, hands on her hips, looking stunning in her nakedness. Despite the situation, Jason couldn’t help but still admire the curves of her wide hips.

“Oh, so you think I’m not pulling my weight in bed, is that it?” she suddenly accused him.

“What? No, that’s not what I said at all!” he started to defend himself, but she cut him off with laughter as she picked up the bottle of lube they’d been using.

“I was just teasing, babe. But seriously, that monster of yours has given the ol’ girl quite the workout,” Jillian remarked, her hand drifting lightly towards her mound, though she refrained from touching any closer.

“Umm, sorry…?” he replied softly, his gaze fixed on her lower half.

“Don’t be. That’s why we’re going to switch things up,” she said with a grin, squeezing a generous amount of lube onto her hand.

“Get up from the bed,” she commanded, and he promptly complied, his still rock hard cock bouncing slightly as he moved, eager for action.

Jillian grinned at the sight of his excitement, licking her lips playfully. She quickly applied the lube in her hand to the inside of her upper thighs and outer lips gingerly, a mischievous glint in her eye. Jason raised an eyebrow at her actions.

“What’s going on?” he asked, clearly puzzled.

“You’ll see,” she replied with a smirk, gesturing for him to come closer. As she knelt on the edge of the bed, he approached, standing behind her.

“Lube your dick up some more,” she instructed, her voice low and enticing.“I want you to fuck my thighs. Then, finish wherever you like, baby.”

She turned slightly to gaze at him, using one hand to grab her butt, spreading herself for his viewing pleasure. Seeing him react with the same dumbfounded expression…as if it were their first time all over again, she couldn’t help but stifle a slight giggle.

“Well? I’m waiting,” she teased, playfully winking at him.

Jason snapped out of his trance and quickly took the bottle of lube, slathering his entire shaft. With a slight adjustment in angle, he guided himself between her tightly clamped thighs. The sensation of his slick cock sliding against her tender skin and the yielding flesh of her thighs was something else. It elicited a ragged moan from Jillian as the top side of his dick ground against her clit with each stroke. She hadn’t really expected that, and she was still a bit raw, but it was just enough stimulation to be a good mix of pain and pleasure. Jason’s hands found purchase on her waist, where the curve of her hips met her ass and made the perfect handle for him.

“Oh, fuck, baby!” she exclaimed with a gasp, surprised by the intensity of pleasure. Initially, just aiming to get him off, she found herself already in a lazy girl’s version of doggy style, her face buried in the bunched-up comforter and ass stuck up in the air for him. The wet sounds of him slipping in and out came in time with her soft whimpers of pleasure.

Jason’s hips eventually pressed up against her plush bottom, with the base of his cock pushed against her thighs, feeling the tip of his penis pressing into her belly button. Pulling back, he started thrusting a bit faster, fucking her thighs as if they were her pussy. It honestly felt amazing. With his hands wrapped around her slender waist, he yanked her back with each thrust.

“Oh god, oh god, oh god, oh fuuuuuck!” Jillian’s delightfully loud moans filled the room as she reached her first orgasm already. They were both grateful for the hotel room they decided to get in the city last night. There was no need to stifle their voices, and he discovered she was quite vocal in her pleasure when she was allowed to be. She practically screamed the night away during their multiple sessions, but he found it thrilling, knowing just how much she was enjoying it. He was much less vocal but still let her know how much he loved it.

Jillian buried her face into the comforter and let out yet another ragged scream of overwhelming pleasure as an after shock wracked her body, excitement overflowing from her pussy. The sweet juices seeped down to lubricate their connection even more. Jason was fast approaching his climax as well. His hips smacked against her now soaked backside rapidly making a clapping noise along with the erotic squelch of their connection.

“Oh ba-ay-ay-ay-ay be-e-e-e.” her voice stuttered by his hard rapid thrusts as more girl cum escaped her overflowing pussy.

“Oh god, I’m gonna..,.” He struggled to finish his sentence, gritting his teeth. Thankfully, Jillian was there to finish it for him.

“I changed… my mind… fill me again… Jase. Please.. Shoot your cum inside me. Fucking breed me!” she begged through ragged gasps, indulging in the fantasy as his thrusts slowed. His movements against her hyper-sensitive clit were too much to bear anymore. She needed him away from it fast.

Without complaint, Jason withdrew slowly from between her thighs, angled his tip that was already seeping a bead of pearly white seed, and slipped into her drenched cunt with more ease than ever. Another moan escaped her lips as he split her insides once again. Despite the ache coursing through her sore pussy and her trembling legs, she held on, feeling his firm grip on her waist, pulling her against him as he plunged as deeply into her as she could handle. Her back arched and her scream became a high pitched whine as she still struggled to deal with the pain of his length. Yet she still craved all of him, even if her whole body was trembling in complaint.

“I-I’m cumming for you, Jill!” Jason roared, gritting his teeth and shutting his eyes tightly, his voice echoing loudly, much to Jillian’s delight. In the next instant, he emptied every last drop of cum he had into her. A shooting headache wracked his brain for a moment from cumming so hard. Edging for so long had made his release pelt her insides with surprising force. Thankfully the overwhelming pleasure nearly drowned out the pain.

“I love youuu!” she moaned loudly, her legs finally giving out as she collapsed against the bed. Completely spent, Jason fell with her, desperate to stay connected, pressing his chest against her back as they both savored the waves of lingering, intense pleasure.

Jillian sucked in a deep breath once more, feeling his comforting weight squishing her into the soft mattress. The warmth of his seed and the fullness of his cock inside her had all of her senses completely overwhelmed. It felt like they were shorting out as her body twitched and spasmed. Jason’s lips started peppering the side of her face as he breathed heavily through his nose.

“I fucking love you, Jillian,” he whispered into her ear, prompting a slight grin from her.

“Mmmm fuck is right,” she said between heavy breaths, the two laughing softly as they lay there, connected in a way only lovers could be.

“I fucking love you too, Jason,” she returned the gesture, feeling impossibly happy and sleepy. Very sleepy.

The speakers above buzzed with announcements. The shuffle of luggage and the hum of conversation filled the silence that had settled between Jillian and Jason as they sat on the bench outside the airport terminal. They had spent the day together, squeezing every bit of enjoyment they could out of every last moment possible, at least after they’d had a long nap to recover. With the sun dipping low, the inevitable moment of Jason’s departure drew ever nearer. Side by side, they sat in silence, neither finding the right words to break it.

The past two weeks had been a whirlwind of activity, leaving them with hardly a moment to spare, and anything they had left to say was overwhelmed by the sadness of the moment. They strolled hand in hand to the entrance of security after returning the rental car, lost in their own thoughts. Sitting down, words seemed to escape them, the impending separation weighing heavily on their minds. The fact that they wouldn’t be able to hold each other, share kisses, or make love for a long time after this hit them hard. Eventually, the silence became unbearable, prompting them to break it.

They both turned to speak almost simultaneously, locking eyes for a long moment. Staring at each other for almost a minute they both suddenly burst into laughter, drawing curious looks from passersby who probably figured they were crazy. But they were in their own world now, unfazed by those around them. Their hands found each other naturally, fingers intertwining, both squeezing the other’s. Jason smiled at her and leaned in, Jillian meeting him halfway, their lips pressing together once again.

The couple shared a deep kiss, a scene not uncommon in airports. Farewells often involved such displays of affection. Yet, what began as a simple kiss soon evolved into something much more. Jillian found herself in Jason’s lap, her hands leaving his to wrap her arms around his neck. She leaned right back into it and their kiss grew increasingly passionate, bordering on inappropriate for the public setting they were in. Loud smacking noises echoed between them as their tongues danced inside of their mouths, throwing away the kissing lesson Jillian had taught him to avoid - being noisy. They drew more attention from passersby. Reactions varied from disgust, surprise, and some simply couldn’t help but stare as the couple remained lost in their own little world.

When their lips parted, Jillian took in a deep breath and leaned her forehead against Jason’s, keeping her eyes shut.

“I’m gonna miss you so much, Jason... more than I should,” she murmured softly, prompting a light chuckle from him.

“Haha, what does that mean?” Jason inquired, his nose brushing against hers affectionately. Jillian scoffed and opened her eyes to meet his gaze as she pouted slightly.

“Because you’re just some jerk I met two weeks ago, who then had the nerve to call me a whore and tell me to go purge my dinner,” she retorted, causing Jason’s eyes to widen in surprise at the memory she brought up.

“Wait, what? Why are you bringing that up again now?” Jason asked, puzzled and a tad apprehensive.

“Because I’m going to bring up every moment where you were a jerk. So you can think long and hard about what you’ve done,” Jillian said, sounding like a stuck up brat. He just stared at her, not exactly sure what to say.

“Remember the next morning? You slammed into me and made me almost break my assbone?” she added with a smirk.

“It was an accident, and it wasn’t when I ran into you. That was when you tried to push me and fell on your butt,” Jason chimed in, attempting to defend himself. But Jillian was far from finished.

“Then there was the whole, ‘Oh, let’s avoid each other because I’m an insecure jerk thing’,” she continued.

“We fought literally every time we crossed paths before that!” he shot back as the back-and-forth banter between them continued.

“Then there was the time you dragged me out for a jog, and I swear I saw my life flash before my eyes,” Jillian remarked with a touch of seriousness that bordered on melodrama.

“You weren’t anywhere close to dying, and you know it’s good for you to get out for a little exercise. You should keep it up while I’m away,” Jason replied sharply.

“Yeah, sure, I will totally do that,” Jillian replied sarcastically, her eyes rolling hard.

“And then you hurt my hand with your stupid stomach.”

“You punched me, and somehow I’m the bad guy here? Where’s the logic in that?” Jason shook his head, feeling another playful punch to his stomach, albeit gentler this time.

“I guess life’s just not fair,” Jillian quipped, with a hint of a smile.

“What you did to poor Ann back in high school was just awful, too. I mean, seriously, who tells a girl ‘no thank you’ when she asks them out? I can’t even imagine how devastated she must have felt. Yeah, I bullied her, and I regret that a ton, but at least I didn’t string her along with false hope,” Jillian added.

“I didn’t intentionally lead her on, but I understand I should’ve been more careful with my choice of words and let her down easier. But come on, is it really that cruel to be straightforward?” Jason countered as she playfully slapped his arm.

“It totally is!” she exclaimed.

“I also wish you didn’t react so strongly when I asked about your first time. But I get it, it’s a touchy subject. I was just trying to be supportive, you know?” Jillian leaned in and gave him a peck on the cheek, toning it down a bit with this memory.

“Yeah... I wish it was easier to talk about. I’m still working on it,” he murmured, still a little touchy on the whole thing.

“Awww, baby.” Jillian cooed softly, feeling sentimental, thinking about how anyone could do something so cruel. Unable to help herself, she leaned in and kissed him again, their tongues meeting once more. She let out a soft moan as she started to lose herself in the kiss. That was until she finally remembered what she was doing. Suddenly, Jillian pulled away from him and slapped him across the face, causing a louder smack than she was expecting. Jason’s eyes went wide in shock as he stared at her, completely caught off guard.

“Oh shit, I’m so sorry, babe! I honestly didn’t mean to hit you that hard!” she said in a panic, genuinely apologetic. Her hands reached up to gently stroke the cheek she slapped. Jason just let out a hearty laugh.

“It’s all good, it didn’t hurt that much. Just caught me off guard. It was actually kind of hot,” he replied with a grin, his hands sliding down to give her butt a firm squeeze. She gave him a small scowl at this.

“Ugh, now I have to try and get back into my angry mode again. Thanks a lot,” Jillian huffed, though Jason could detect the fondness in her gaze as she kept up their little game.

“Sorry, baby. Please keep going,” he said, laying on the sweetness, rubbing her butt slightly, which only earned him another pointed glare.

“Maybe I will be used to you being gone. I mean, after all, you did abandon me for three whole days that we could’ve been spending time together,” she teased, attempting to make the memory of their brief hiatus before unexpectedly bumping into each other at the store seem as bad as possible.

“I missed you,” he admitted softly, causing her cheeks to flush.

“S-shut up, jerk,” Jillian shot back clearly trying her hardest not to kiss him again as she bit her lip. She cleared her throat before continuing.

“Ahem, anyway. What about when you thought it’d be a good idea to keep bumping into me repeatedly? Seriously, what the hell was that all about?” Jillian folded her arms, giving her man a skeptical glance.

“Oh, that. Right, haha! I almost forgot about that. It was Marco’s idea, actually. He thought if I bumped into you by accident a bunch of times, it would, uh, drive you wild?” Jason still couldn’t quite grasp the logic behind it.

“That has to be the dumbest advice I’ve ever heard,” she said, shaking her head with a sigh. “Speaking of Marco... if he keeps using you as some kind of lure for his pick up tactics, he and I are gonna have some words,” Jillian said, her expression a mix of irritation and genuine concern. She couldn’t stand seeing Jason get exploited any more than he already had been.

“I’m not saying I’ll stop hanging out with him, but I’ll definitely talk to him about it,” Jason reassured her, his hands gently tracing up and down her back, scratching softly. Jillian let out a soft purr, leaning into his touch.

“Mmmm, alright. Fine. Just don’t forget who you belong to, mister,” she teased, smiling and almost leaning in for a kiss before catching herself. This was getting harder by the second.

“And then you bring Lina into the mix, and everything goes haywire. You had me play the role of your girlfriend, doing all sorts of crazy stuff right in front of her,” Jillian said, arms folded across her chest as she shot him a glare.

“What?! Okay, fine. I did sort of suggest you play along as my girlfriend. But I never told you to go that far in front of her! You were the one that started kissing me and got on my lap,” Jason retorted, but Jillian was prepared for his comeback.

“Oh, so you didn’t appreciate it when I went the extra mile for you. I get it now. My body isn’t good enough for your impossible standards,” she quipped, making him roll his eyes hard. If anything, the last few days were more than enough to prove how much he loved her and her body.

“Then you pretty much break things off shortly after because you’re worried about the whole long-distance thing. Cause you’re only into me for my body,” Jillian winked playfully as Jason stared at her, utterly baffled. Her words were becoming increasingly erratic as she rambled on, basically contradicting herself with every sentence. Jason couldn’t help but facepalm at this.

“So, let me get this straight. First, you claim that I think your body isn’t good enough. But then you accuse me of only being attracted to you for your body? Which friggin’ one is it?”

He rubbed his eyes wearily as he spoke.

“It’s both. Now shut up and let me finish. What else was there...?” She paused, pondering for a moment.

“How about when you got all jealous because I was focused on June?” She asked curiously. Jason did actually feel kinda bad about this one. It was the first time he really felt the sensation of actual jealousy. He looked away with a small frown.

“I’m not proud of that moment.”

Jillian frowned at him. He wasn’t supposed to feel bad, and she needed to change the subject quickly.

“Then you flipped out over your mom dating… Chris, right?" Struggling to remember his name for a moment. "I mean, come on. He’s a doctor! You should’ve been ecstatic that she found a nice guy who can take care of her. But no, you were all in a tizzy about it.”

Jason’s shift in mood and reaction was almost immediate, crossing his arms and looking away.

“Yeah, well, you’re the one who’s all bent out of shape about June and Kyle.”

“Hey, this isn’t about me,” Jillian snapped back, more than a hint of frustration in her voice. She always made terrible decisions when that topic was brought up. This time wasn’t really an exception either.

“You also pushed me into talking about why I can’t have kids, jerk.”

Jason decided to simply stay quiet on this one, feeling genuinely sorry for her.

“Alright, moving on... You then, um, you, you uh...” When Jason glanced back, he understood why Jillian was suddenly struggling to speak.

“Y-you came to Mika’s and made me yours…Now you’re...Sniff… L-leaving,” Jillian sniffled, struggling to maintain her composure. Tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to spill over.

“Not just leaving…but early,” she took a long, shaky breath, a tear escaping down her cheek. Jason frowned, his heart sinking as he reached out, but she halted his hand, grabbing it with both of hers.

“I won’t get to... kiss your jerk face...” her voice wavered, mixed with soft whimpers. Watching her, Jason felt a pang of sadness grip his chest.

“I won’t get to fall asleep next to you every night... My bed will be so empty and cold. It’ll be... sniff... so great not having a warm jerk like you hogging the space. Who needs a big, dumb, caring man like you around to make me feel safe anyway? Someone to chase away all the bad memories and hold me tight when I’m feeling scared or alone.”

Tears finally started streaming down her cheeks, unabated as she leaned into him, burying her face in his chest. She clung to his shirt, gripping it tight as her body was wracked with sobs. No matter how many bad memories she brought up. They couldn't keep her from the overwhelming sadness of him leaving away.

“Fuck you, Jason. Fuck you for making me feel all of this.”

Her words were muffled against his chest amidst her tears.

Jason enveloped her in his warm embrace, whispering softly into her ear, “I’m sorry, Jill... One day, we’ll never have to say goodbye like this again. You’ll always be by my side. In my bed, safe and sound, where I can protect you and keep you from feeling lonely ever again.”

He caressed her back, planting a tender kiss on top of her head, his own eyes struggling to hold back tears. The last thing he wanted was to leave her; He yearned for her to always be by his side. He wasn’t sure if it was just the new relationship talking, but he couldn’t deny his feelings.

“I wanna have a million more arguments with you. I wanna bicker about the simplest things and about nothing at all. As long as it’s with you.”

Holding her tight still, she sniffed loudly, turning her head for some air.

“I love you, you jerk,” she sobbed out, her eyes leaking profusely onto his shirt.

“I love you too, you brat,” Jason said, feeling the first tear escape down his face. He did his best to hide it by pulling her up a bit more and burying his face in her hair. The two sat there for a long while until an alarm went off on Jason’s phone. There were only thirty minutes until his flight arrived, and he was already pushing his luck, but he didn’t care.

“You have to go…” Jillian murmured quietly, almost as if she didn’t want her words to reach him.

“Yeah... I know,” he whispered back, equally subdued.

They both took deep breaths, trying to steady their emotions before even budging. Any tears had either evaporated or been wiped away. Only faintly reddened eyes remained as Jillian stood up from his lap. Jason did the same, standing from the bench and grabbing his suitcase and laptop bag, which held the computer that hadn’t been used once on this trip.

“You’ll call me when you land, right?” Her voice was barely above a whisper.

“Mhmm, of course,” he reassured her, trying to muster a smile. He gently lifted her chin, meeting her tearful eyes.

“And when you get home?” She continued mumbling.

“Yep,” he replied softly.

“And when you wake up, about to go to bed, or whenever you miss me?” she continued.

“That’s right,” he affirmed.

“And I can text you anytime… Maybe send some naughty pics. And you’ll send some back when I’m feeling horny since you won't be around to fix it?”

Her teasing made him chuckle a bit.

“That’s right, you can text me anytime. But the pictures might take a bit if I’m at work,” Jason said, his smile growing a little at this.

“And you’ll still love me even though we promised not to say it while we’re apart?” Jillian’s needy side was revealing itself in full in these final moments. In response, Jason simply nodded, then leaned down to plant a deep kiss on her lips. He wrapped an arm around her waist, pouring every ounce of passion and love he had into this final kiss, pulling her tight against him. Jillian returned the kiss as best she could, her arms tight around his neck as renewed tears started to flow down her cheeks once more. After their lingering kiss ended and they separated slightly, Jason gently brushed away the remaining tears on her cheeks.

“Take care of yourself... I love you,” he murmured, planting a final kiss on her forehead before straightening up. Jillian, holding onto him weakly, echoed the sentiment.

“I love you.”

As they finally parted, Jason reluctantly began to walk away, maintaining eye contact with her for as long as possible. Even as he passed through a pair of reflective automatic doors, he stole one last glance back at her, though she couldn’t see him anymore. With a sigh, he tore his gaze away and headed towards security, picking up his pace to make his way to his terminal on time.

Jillian found herself lost in her reflection while the hustle and bustle of people passed by. She couldn’t quite say how much time slipped away at that moment. Eventually, she managed to turn and walk out of the airport, where she eventually spotted her family’s van waiting for her. As she walked up to it, Ginny quickly got out of the van and approached her, wrapping her arms around her obviously distraught daughter in a comforting squeeze. Jillian’s arm’s hung limp at her side as she was embraced..

“Everything will work out, Jillybean. I’m sure you’ll see him sooner than you think. Let’s head home, baby.”

With a silent nod, the two made their way to the family van parked nearby. Jillian slid into the front passenger seat of the van, with Calvin babbling away in the back. Her mother settled into the driver’s seat, clicking her seatbelt into place. The radio was tuned to a classic rock station, but it was all white noise to Jillian. Instead, her mind was fixed on the departing planes, carrying people away, including the man who once hated her with his entire being. It was amazing how just two short weeks had transformed everything. From anger and hate to declarations of love and tearful goodbyes—life had certainly taken an unexpected turn.

“I guess Love and Hate aren’t that far apart,” Jillian mused, her smile gentle as she gazed up at the sky. Wondering what fate might bring the next time they cross paths once more.
