TVD: The Seventh Original

Chapter 2: Pilot- Isaac's Awakening(part 2)

Late Fall, 1001 A.D. Unknown Continent

The crescent moon's light reflected on the slightly wet leaves of an endless forest that stretched as far as the eye could see. Old, ancient trees stood tall, casting weak shadows over the slightly muddy ground.

A young man, barefooted, could be seen running across the dark woods, leaving behind slightly red footsteps that stained the forest ground. Despite his bleeding legs, the young man didn't slow down for a moment, running forward at an inhumane speed.

The young man's eyes were bloodshot, looking forward, unfocused. His tear-wet cheeks were slightly pale, barely showing on his olive-colored skin. The image of his dead friend lying in a pool of her own blood kept flashing in his head, the same questions repeating: 'Who did this? Why would anyone harm them?'

The sight of the impaled Rebekah surfaced once more, causing a few more tears to roll down. It wasn't fair, it wasn't just. But he could do nothing about it. He kept running, not even stopping for a moment. Rain started washing down, wetting his hair and clothes stained with Rebekah's blood.

He didn't notice where he was stepping, and he once again placed his leg over a sharp stone, opening another wound in his leg, which healed in mere seconds. He didn't even notice the pain as he just kept moving forward.

He couldn't help but whimper slightly. He was very used and resistant to physical pain; breaking all your bones once a month will do that to you, especially as he did his best to stay conscious, unlike the rest of the pack, who gave in to the pain. But mental pain was a whole other story.

He never knew his parents; his mother died giving birth to him, and his father died during a fight with a nearby village. Hence, since he was young, it was basically only him and his sister. But by the time he was nine, his sister already had her own family, and as the tribe's traditions were, he left and built his own tent, taking care of himself.

He met Rebekah, his best friend, around that time and had come to be good friends with all members of the family. They would often invite him to have dinner with them and even taught him how to wield a sword and hunt.

He was kicked out of his clan long ago, and they were the only ones who still took him in. They were his family and the only reason he stayed after the clan abandoned him. Losing them meant there was no reason to stay. He kept running, straight ahead as the moon kept rising to its peak, the stream of tears never stopping for more than a short second.

It was already six hours later when he finally halted his steps, looking at a large field with many tents spread around. His green eyes turned cold as he heard the snores of the sleeping people.

'Another tribe...'

Early Winter, 1002 A.D, Unknown Continent

It's been two weeks since Isaac joined the new village. Unlike his own, this village didn't have any of the Vikings that came from the 'old world'. The village, much like his own, was that of werewolves.

Thus, when he arrived and explained the situation in which he was expelled from his tribe, the alpha, a young woman named Kateri, accepted him into the pack with open arms under the condition he won't be a liability.

Over the last few weeks, Isaac would wake up early in the morning to hunt alone, helping stock food for the winter. After catching a deer or two, he would find a quiet place to sit and meditate under the sun.

Though ever since the events of that night, he couldn't seem to feel the connection, as the picture of dead Rebekah haunted him, showing up in his mind every time he closed his eyes. But something did feel different; it wasn't immediate, but with each passing day, he could feel a certain 'pull' in the area of his heart.

It was something surreal, but he could swear that something in his wolf changed. His wolf was like this feeling in his heart; every time he became especially emotional, he could feel it slightly, like this beast sleeping inside him. The moment he killed for the first time was the moment he felt it the most. Like some wall surrounding his heart suddenly broke down, letting the wolf run wild and do as it wants.

When he was young, he asked Aiyana, the healer of the village, if it was normal. And she told him the story of the werewolves and how the curse came to be. According to her, this was a normal feeling for anyone who was of the cursed wolf tribes, though most would just think it was normal since they were born this way.

Looking at the sky, which was starting to turn dark, Isaac rose to his feet with a slight push of his hands and started moving back towards the village. He felt especially strong today; usually, when the full moon came, he tended to feel emotional and weak. Only now, for some reason, he felt calm for the first time in almost a month; the blood was pumping in his veins faster than ever before.

Reaching a small clearing by the village, Isaac stopped, looking at some of the fellow villagers who stood around a large campfire, all only wearing their underwear. It was like they were preparing for a ritual, as they held hands in a circle as they watched the sky.

Most of them were older than him, being in their later 20s or in their 30s, and only two of them were women, the Alpha, Kateri, who was also the leader of the village, as well as an older woman around her late 40s whom Isaac had never seen before.

As he got closer, Kateri released the hand of the man who stood next to her and reached out to hold Isaac's hand, who took the offer, albeit a bit reluctantly. Crossing her fingers with his, she nodded at him with a slight smile before looking at the sky once more.

"It's your first time as part of a pack, right? I promise you will not regret it..." She spoke to him silently, only receiving a silent nod in return.

A long silence followed as the whole group just stood there, gazing at the cloudy sky. Rain started pouring down, washing over their heads, as he could feel Kateri's hand shivering slightly under the cold. And just then, the first scream came.

The man on Isaac's other side flinched, as his hand slightly twisted, releasing his hold of Isaac's hand, his forearm twisting in an unnatural angle. Following his change, one by one, the rest of them started changing. Their hands breaking, their legs twisting, and every bone in their bodies shattering, as they growled on the wet ground with screams of pain.

Only Kateri, who stood to his left, seemed to just breathe heavily as she fell to the floor, just like the others, her whole body twisted as she fell to all fours. Meanwhile, Isaac only looked straight forward, his eyes stuck to the center of the burning flame.

A gigantic black wolf, two meters in height, appeared in front of him, its fur as black as coal and its eyes shining in green. It just stared at him as it moved forward, looking at him with the cold gaze of an apex predator, only it didn't seem condescending, but more sad in a way.

When it was only a single step away from Isaac, it stopped as the two looked at each other with interest. Only for some reason, Isaac found the wolf to be more than familiar; it felt like it was a part of him... Isaac took in a deep breath as he finally realized what was standing right in front of him.

'My wolf!' his eyes shined, and the wolf's eyes shined as well. Realizing what it was, Isaac's hand moved forward, towards the wolf's head, caressing its fur gently as he let out a thin smile.

The edges of the wolf's mouth rose in return as it also smiled, though it looked more awkward than anything else. Feeling a warm feeling around his heart, Isaac instinctively closed his eyes, focusing on that very spot when suddenly, the wolf took another step forward, sinking into Isaac's body with a blast of green energy.

The energy immediately started spreading throughout Isaac's body as he was thrown backward, his back slamming into a nearby tree. Coughing out a lot of blood, his eyes opened once again, a sharp pain burning in Isaac's chest as he couldn't breathe; he was trying to breathe, but no air came.

With his eyes opened in shock, fear seeped in as he was trying to take one last breath until his limbs finally lost all strength, and his heart stopped beating; he died...

Meanwhile, the rest of the group already turned, and instead of them stood a pack of large gray wolves with shining yellow eyes. Only two among them were white in color and had blue eyes. The group simply ignored Isaac, who was now more than ten meters away, his back leaning against a collapsed big tree. The leader, one of the two white wolves, just howled as the whole group headed into the forest, disappearing into the shadows.

Hundreds of kilometers away, in a small wooden house, an old dark-skinned woman sat in a wooden chair, her eyes looking at the full moon that hung at the center of the sky, peeking between the dark gray clouds of a nearing storm.

"So he finally died..." she let out a long bitter sigh as she played with a necklace that hung on her chest.

"Thank you, Ayana. It had to be done." A younger woman, seemingly in her late 30s, stood behind her, taking a short sip of some hot herbal infusion.

Ayana turned to the blonde woman with a dark expression. Disappointment, sadness, and even betrayal could be seen flowing in her dark, brown eyes.

"You were my student once, so for the sake of your family, I did you this one favor. But that magic you used, you will regret it in the future.

Mark my words, the spirits talk, and the spell I casted to kill that child might just mark your downfall. You may have found a way for them to live forever, walk the day, and even sealed your son's curse. But in those actions, you cursed all of you for an eternity of misery."

The woman just shrugged her shoulders slightly as she left the house walking towards her own. Only a few hours later, at the come of dawn, a sharp scream echoed through the village, as Rebekah, who entered the house, found the body of her mother in a pool of her own blood. One of her brothers stood by the door, with bloodshot eyes.

Meanwhile, back in Isaac's new village, the sun rose over the small clearing where the wolves transformed. Under a large oak tree, Isaac's body lied lifeless. His blood coloring the ground in dark red.

A few hours passed since Isaac died, and the blood already dried, his eyes remained open, looking at the sky. As the sun's rays washed over the whole field, Isaac remained in the tree's shadow. Hours passed before just a single ray found it's way through the many leaves, touching the edge of his foot.

When suddenly, a long inhaling sound was heard as Isaac's chest rose, again. Within moments, the blood in his veins started pumping rapidly, and the wound on his back closed. Following that, his eyes closed and opened once more.

'I'm alive?!' A thought ran through his head, only something changed. Different memories started rising in his head, of monstrous metal boxes moving on wheels and weapons that killed by pointing them on someone. Many weird thing that he had never seen before mixed into his memories. Creating a large mess in his head, as he couldn't think clearly.

It was already noon when he finally succeeded in creating another clear thought...

'I'm in the vampire diaries universe?!'

As I wrote in the synopsis, and the last chap, this is just the result of a writing blockage regarding other stories, I don't know if I will ever write more than the five chapters, well that is unless I see extremely positive reviews.

At least for now I enjoy writing it...

If it wasn't clear from the tags, and the story so far, this is a (transmigration, no-harem, TVD) fanfic, I will not change my mind about those things, and I will not take any opinions in this specific story regarding the final love interest and the MC's personality.

I will not answer any questions regarding where the story is going behind that, as it not only bothers me, but I also don't want to tell you something that isn't decided yet. I might change my mind regarding anything unless I said otherwise.

If you want, in the future, you can give me other ideas regarding story name, things the MC might choose to learn or do in the following thousand years, and anything more you would like to share. I read everything though I will only use what I like...

Anyway, if you like this story, let me know, and I will take it into consideration when i have time to write in the future, and if you have any trouble understanding something I'm more than willing to answer questions regarding the existing plot.
