Turn Off the Aim Hack!

Chapter 4

It felt strange.

It was as if I had this confidence that I could do everything I had ever imagined.

That’s why I tried it.

A play that was close to reckless, something I had only thought of doing but never attempted until now.

A play where even the slightest mistake could be fatal for the team.

A play that would be impossible for anyone without exceptional physical ability.

But this ability made the impossible possible.

In the slowed-down world.

My aim was perfectly aligned with the enemies’ heads.

And as adrenaline surged through my veins, the bullets were fired.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Four shots.

Every single bullet pierced through the enemies’ heads at that moment.

“…”

An involuntary grin spread across my face.

Because I was savoring a feeling I had never experienced before.

I had carried the team many times before, of course, in single rounds.

But I had never been the game-changer determining the victory or defeat of the match before.

Not only was my aim not up to par, but the heroes I preferred were the underdog types, the Paladin and the Trapper.

But now, I confidently believed that I had carried the game to a level even I didn’t think was possible.

It was the first time such an event had occurred in my year of playing Time Click.

This was why people enjoyed this game, wasn’t it?

The game continued, and with each victory, Inaring had finally reached Master Tier 1.

“Yaaaay!”

And then it hit me—I’d made a grave error.

“Well, since we’ve reached Master 1…”

Simultaneously, the words prompted the announcement of the end of the live stream.

Today’s goal for Inaring’s stream was to reach Master Tier 1, after all.

We had accomplished the goal, and the stream had been going on for quite some time, so ending it was a natural course of action.

‘Oh… This moron.’

I was truly an idiot.

A true fan should never allow their favorite streamer’s session to end quickly. But here I was, carried away by some newfound ability and showing off unnecessarily, leading to this consequence.

Now her stream would end earlier than usual, undoubtedly leaving the chat room in an uproar.

– Is Inaring leaving already?

-Uh… it feels like we’re heading into an ice age already…

– Everyone knows this isn’t your true skill level, Inaring…

– Isn’t it too early for the stream to end?

“No, guys! I’ve been streaming for a whopping 7 hours today. It’s because I’ve started broadcasting so early!”

I slipped in among the spectators.

[Charge Knight]: Scared?

“Eh? Scared of what?”

[Charge Knight]: Are you scared to keep playing one more round after reaching Master 1?

“Mm~ what’re you gonna do about it if I’m scared? Huh~”

– Wow… is she totally lacking pride as a human being?

– Inaring is embarrassing…

– She’s ungrateful. Definitely disqualifies her as a human.

“No, guys! Do you know how many points were lost because of this guy? It’s a double! A double!”

– Inaring’s getting worse…

– Haha you lost because of her lack of skill…

(XXX has been muted.)

– Huh~!

– Huh!

– Huh!!

– Mu

“Well, anyway!”

Inaring cleared up the chat briefly before speaking again.

“Tomorrow, I’ll be back early! Our next goal is nothing less than Grandmaster 5! I’ll challenge Grandmaster 5.”

– Wow!

– Could this be the first streamer to reach GM5?

– So, are you planning to catch a bus again?

“Um… hey, I still have a conscience! How could I ride a bus after you helped me reach this level?”

– Incredible, your official declaration of no more live streaming.

– Does this mean you’re planning to stick with us forever?

– Or, wait, is this a marriage proposal, Inaring?

(XXX has been muted.)

– Huh!

– Oh, no!

– Mu

– Bing

“Alright, I’ll end the chat here. See you tomorrow, byering!”

With that, she decisively ended the stream. The sense of finality left me utterly deflated.

“It’s not time to sleep yet…”

While it was true that she had started early that day, ending it at 7 PM was far too soon.

There was nothing I could do now that she had officially signed off. I figured I might as well compile today’s highlights into a clip.

Right as I was about to end my Time Click session, a whisper came in.

[InaInaring]: Hello, Charge Knight!

At that moment,

A whisper from Inaring came through.

“!”

After a stream had ended… this was her personal Inaring, wasn’t it?

This cherished moment—her reaching out to me personally.

I immediately sent back a polite reply.

[Charge Knight]: Ah, yes. Hello.

[InaInaring]: Actually, I’d like to invite you to my stream for an interview if that’s possible. For the segment, we’re calling it ‘Masters’ Invited’ for now.

An interview? An invitation to a stream?

I was so surprised that my mouth dropped and my eyes widened.

Who would have thought that the streamer I adored would want to invite me?

There was no need to hesitate.

I immediately agreed to Inaring’s proposal.

[Charge Knight]: Yes, it’s possible.

[InaInaring]: Ah, then, when would your schedule work?

[Charge Knight]: Tomorrow works perfectly well.

After all, when you’re unemployed, time is always on your side.

[InaInaring]: Wow, your availability is great! So, would you be able to share your Doscode ID? We could add as friends and conduct a casual interview tomorrow. By the way, I will be busy tomorrow, as you know.

I momentarily hesitated. This felt a little overwhelming.

“Umm… hmm…”

Chat-based interactions were fine, but direct conversations with people made me uncomfortable.

My “asocial” tendencies hadn’t changed; it had been two years since I last interacted with someone face-to-face.

It was unavoidable to feel hesitant.

Still, doing a joint stream with Inaring was something I couldn’t pass up on.

I hesitantly typed into the chat window.

[Charge Knight]: Um, I find it a little uncomfortable to communicate via Doscode…

[InaInaring]: ? Isn’t this image quite different from how you snipe? Anyway, understood. Would it be okay if I asked the questions, and you replied via chat?

[Charge Knight]: Yes, that would be fine.

[InaInaring]: Great! I’ll get the schedule out and let you know. See ya then!

[Charge Knight]: Yes.

After our conversation ended, and Inaring’s status shifted to offline, I sat there for a while, dazed.

“Wow, wow…”

An invitation—an invitation!

Who would’ve thought that I’d be invited to Inaring’s stream one day?

I might as well already be done for today.

* * *

Time Click, a game that had been released only a year ago, was hailed as a revolution in FPS gaming, breaking through 11 million global users, and becoming a beloved game worldwide.

However, even the most famous and popular games can’t escape a chronic issue: the more players, the more cheaters.

[Title: Evidence of a Named One-Champ User Cheating]

Most people probably already know that Paladins are garbage in Time Click.

Of course, they are useful in some situations, but if you can choose a Knight, Gravity Mage, or Robot instead of wielding a close-range weapon, you would, wouldn’t you?

But this guy was different.

Even though he’s in the Master tier, his Paladin’s playstyle was surprisingly novel and impressive enough that I had to acknowledge it.

Yet, at today’s Inaring stream, some unbelievable plays caught my eye.

I met him in the enemy team, so I checked the replay immediately.

I can’t add much here. Just watch the videos and decide for yourselves.

I’ll post the video files, and if you want to review them carefully, the code is DNS2DN. Check it out.

– Wow

– Is this guy not going overboard?

– Isn’t it obvious?

– That aim cannot be possible unless he’s using a machine?

– Paladin

[Title: I saw your video, dude…]

I was the Ninja on today’s stream fighting against Charge Knight.

When I approached to try to trap him with an arrow, something seemed off, but he eliminated me.

I decided to review the replay, and sure enough, it seemed shady.

– Yes, it did seem strange.

– It did seem odd from the middle of the game. He should have played more carefully.

– He was quite blatant.

[Title: Is this guy Charge Knight really cheating?]

His aim was definitely abnormal, but is he actually cheating?

– Yes, it’s definitely cheating.

– Wow, this isn’t Inaring’s fault.

– I played with him in a group earlier today…

– This is going to be huge drama in Inaring’s stream.

There was no one defending him.

The aim was simply too unrealistic.

Even when played in slow motion, it remained absurdly accurate.

Therefore, some people confidently proclaimed,

[Poster: Demizu]

[Title: I saw the video evidence]

When I watched the video, the reticle’s movement clearly looked off.

At first glance, it looked like he was swinging his weapon, but when I slowed it down, it seemed as if the cursor was being pulled by a magnet.

Since this guy claims to be a one-champ Paladin, it’s highly likely he’s cheating?

I want to investigate this thoroughly, so if anyone who has been in a match against Charge Knight, please share your codes.

I’ll gather all the reports, organize them, and if I confirm it, I’ll upload the video.

– Wow, Demizu, are you sure?

– Going by what he said, it seems highly possible?

– But it’s quite blatant.

Demizu.

A veteran marksman from a minor competition in the past and currently a well-known streamer with a large following due to her content exposing cheaters.

With Demizu stating the likelihood of cheating, the community couldn’t help but become even more inflamed.

And it wasn’t just Demizu. Some other Time Click streamers were starting to get involved in the current debate over the Paladin one-champ cheater.

Streamers, always hungry for content.

While exposing cheaters is a sensitive and tricky subject, if the evidence is clear and undeniable, it becomes incredibly popular content.

A high risk, but high reward content.

Risk vs. Return.

The higher the risk, the greater the potential payoff.
