[TS] Surviving in a Yuri Visual Novel

Chapter 14

The sensation of fangs piercing flesh was vividly felt. Though I had a sense of rejection to this unfamiliar feeling for the first time in my life, I gradually adapted to it as time passed.

It felt as if the feeling of rejection was transforming into ecstasy.

On the other hand, I could only feel fear at the sight of my changing self. However, like the saying goes, instincts triumphed over reason, and I found myself succumbing to my instincts.

My consciousness faded slightly. It was the moment when the reason I desperately clung to, insisting I was human and not a vampire, began to waver.

“Ugh…?!”

Leticia, unexpectedly groaning, seemed flustered as she opened her eyes wide, betraying genuine emotion for the first time. Regardless, I silently buried my face in Leticia’s slender nape and sank my fangs deeper.

As if to repay everything I had endured, I gripped Leticia’s nape and violently pierced my fangs into the back of her neck, rubbing my lips along the edges and licking once.

Though it was a light touch, it seemed to take Leticia by surprise, evidenced by her apparent fluster. The way she reacted only served to provoke me further.

“You…!”

“You said it was okay to bite.”

“Huh?”

“That means it’s alright to drink too, right? I’m just faithfully following what you said.”

It was you who wanted me to submit like a dog, and you who permitted the drinking of blood, so this should be a piece of butter. My crimson gaze fixed intently on Leticia. The red hue in my pupils, due to blood consumption, colored everything around me red.

“Huh? You said it was fine for me to do it.”

As I whisper in her ear like I am pleading, Leticia shivers slightly, momentarily stopping her movements. With a look of disbelief, Leticia lets out a low laugh, lowering her eyes as she provocatively speaks.

“Then go ahead and try harder.”

“Alright. You brought this on yourself.”

If told not to, I would find a way to cling to my consciousness. It was she who provoked me and seduced me while merely wearing a gown. I was not one to shy away from such consideration. Therefore, even if I end up regretting it later, it was all instigated by you.

“I won’t hold back.”

I firmly grasped Leticia’s nape and drove my fangs in deeply. Somehow, I ended up with my upper body half hanging off Leticia, but I couldn’t care less.

“Uhh….”

Having been in a starving state without consuming anything since becoming a vampire, I was honestly on the verge of madness from the unique smell of her blood since the first time I faced Leticia. I had refrained from speaking, trying to maintain my humanity, but ever since burying my face in her snowy white skin, I had been desperately curious about what it would taste like to drink her blood.

Now, just imagining it made my throat swallow hard. It was commendable that I hadn’t immediately lunged at Leticia when she was the one who first enticed me. Merely holding back was worthy of a reward.

I endured greatly.

Thus, as soon as Leticia gave her approval, without hesitation, I buried my face in her nape and sank my fangs in, drinking her blood.

As I started sucking blood, thrusting my fangs in like a baby suckling its mother’s milk, soft moans reached my ears.

“Ugh…!”

Was this how it felt for a mosquito to drink human blood? Since we were both creatures that consumed blood, it shouldn’t be altogether different. Even if I harshly evaluated myself by comparing to a mosquito, I continued to follow my instincts while frowning.

The blood that was drawn in through my fangs vanished down my throat. The flavor of blood I tasted for the first time was not bad.

Honestly, it was delicious.

The more I consumed, the more addictive the taste became. A sweet yet bitter sensation spread, along with a slight fishy aroma that filled my mouth, but it wasn’t enough to evoke disgust or rejection at a biological level.

Perhaps it was due to becoming a vampire, but I had no feelings of aversion or contempt towards the act of drinking blood itself. Even though it felt mentally repulsive, I sensed a conflicting emotion akin to human appetites or desires — a feeling that this was an act that simply must be fulfilled.

I had once despised vampires who drank the blood of their allies on the battlefield, but now I found myself in the position of a vampire drinking blood, making my feelings quite complicated.

I didn’t pity my enemies; thinking back, they might have just wanted to live. For vampires, feeding was essentially about blood consumption, and blood consumption directly related to survival, making it an unavoidable aspect of existence.

Even if it meant death. If I didn’t drink blood, I would die anyway. It was natural for any creature to have a will to survive. Of course, they would want to live. Where in this world could one find a creature mad enough to wish for death?

Just yesterday, I had looked at vampires who mercilessly drained the blood from corpses, reducing them to lifeless mummies with an expression of disgust, but now, as a vampire myself, I felt unable to pass judgment.

Wasn’t I now buried in the nape of the woman I loved, drinking her blood?

Speaking of which, I didn’t know what twist of fate it was, but the first Demon King’s Archdemon I killed seemed to have been a vampire’s Archdemon, although I had completely forgotten his name as he was too weak.

Ah, I remembered he was excessively arrogant and had an inflated ego. He boasted of being the right hand of the Demon King, looking down on humans, so I prepared some minced meat for him, making him into a fine paste.

Certainly, the title of Archdemon was no exaggeration; he had regenerated his head in an instant, only to flee without a backward glance, displaying a blue face. While his combat skills faltered, his regenerative abilities were sufficient for him to be called an Archdemon.

Of course, that didn’t mean I would let him go.

Why on earth would I let my enemies live? He was the sort of trash who would turn his own kind, a fellow vampire, into a shield, so he was more than deemed an enemy by me. He was unworthy of being remembered.

“Ugh!”

Every time I drank blood through my fangs buried in her nape, Leticia flushed, seemingly experiencing excitement as she expelled rough breaths, while she gently stroked my nape with her hand.

“As much as I appreciate the roughness, try to be a little gentler. Are you planning to drink all the blood that flows through my body?”

“…If you want me to.”

“I’ll pass on that. I don’t want to become a mummy from having all my blood sucked out. So, I would appreciate a bit of caution.”

With her words coming out playfully but with a deadly warning, I expressed my regret while nibbling on my lips, reluctantly pulling away from Leticia’s nape.

The spine-chilling feeling of my fangs slowly retracting from her skin made Leticia shudder, as if she had been shocked. Blood dripped from the fangs that had fully exited from her skin. Having skillfully caught the blood drops with my tongue, I swallowed.

Though I desperately wanted to drink more blood, it seemed Leticia would genuinely get angry if I continued, so I stopped. Even while I was sufficiently satisfied, I couldn’t take my eyes off the whiteness of Leticia’s skin.

Feeling somewhat regretful, I licked my lips, and only then did I come to my senses, startled, and felt a wave of panic as I looked at Leticia, recalling what I had just done.

Stepping back and sitting down on the bed, Leticia, with a crack, loosened her tense shoulders as she looked at me. I stupidly asked her again.

“Did I just…?”

“It seems you’ve finally come to your senses. You were enjoying it so much you forgot yourself.”

“Enjoying it? What do you mean?”

There was no need to think about that question. I vividly remembered what I had just done, so there would be no point in pondering it. Even if I didn’t remember, the undeniable scent of blood lingering in my mouth made it impossible to deceive myself.

Noticing the marks on Leticia’s nape, I could tell without needing her to say who had done it. As she tied her hair back casually with a string she had been holding while tilting her head, Leticia spoke.

“Having my blood sucked wasn’t bad for me. Just make sure to be gentle next time. Not every woman enjoys a rough feeding.”

Leticia, who claimed she did not like being forced against her will, remained calm despite having been drained by a vampire. She was disturbingly calm, enough for it to fluster me in return. Thanks to that, I regained my composure, brushing my bangs aside with a dazed expression.

“It feels strange for me to say this, but aren’t you too calm?”

“What do you mean?”

“…Nothing. You did summon me, but still, you’re a vampire.”

Even if the current Demon King wished for a ceasefire, there had been an intense war between humans and Mazoku over survival for many years, so it was impossible for her to regard me, a half-vampire, favorably.

Especially in Leticia’s case, who had a long-standing grudge against vampires, it would be unnatural for her to look kindly upon me. It had been strange from the beginning. She wanted a contract with someone who was neither the demon of legend nor a pureblood vampire but rather a half-vampire bum — an act that made no sense unless one was mad.

There was no reason for her to spare a half-blood Mazoku weaker than herself. That’s why it was essential to ask before entering into a contract.

“Why do you want to make a contract with me?”

Hearing my question, Leticia pondered lightly, resting her chin on her hand, before responding nonchalantly.

“Didn’t I mention? It’s just because you’re my type. There’s no grand reason.”

With a light upward smile on her lips, Leticia beamed.
