True Magician (FatexDxD)

Chapter 149: Chapter 148

Emiya's residence.

I sat on the couch, drinking my tenth cup of coffee, digesting the information Rizevim had given me about Olympus and its gods. My sleep had already partially left me, and luckily, there was no one home at the moment except for me and Rea-chan, who was doing her maid duties.

So, Zeus had already sent Hermes to Ama-chan, which was adequate but totally out of character. After all, Japan belonged to the Shintoists, and it is quite normal to first notify about his visit, and it was about Zeus, whose ego was inflated more than his dick. Well, the one who incited him to act was, of course, Hades, who 'accidentally' mentioned the Servants.

Ama-chan will definitely allow the presence of Greeks on his territory, well, at least let Hermes to me. And I'm very curious as to what tone Zeus' message will take. However, he wouldn't be offended by a joke or two about his device, would he?

The next moment, I felt a rather familiar presence right outside the residence and deactivated the closed field, and then the ninja serving Yasaka directly rushed inside.

- "Yume-san, I think?" I asked, stopping Rea-chan from doing anything and looking at the severely exhausted guest, "Is something wrong?"

- "Romani-san..." she began, breathing heavily, "Help... Yasaka-sama is under attack... Rias Gremory and her group are trying to hold off the enemy, but... I was able to get out of the barrier thanks to the Governor General, and..."

I raised an eyebrow.

Now I see why no one contacted me. The hero faction had set up a closed field to keep anyone out and prevent reinforcements from arriving.

- "I see," I nodded, "Then let's go."

A magic circle lit up under my feet, spreading across the living room and engulfing Rea-chan and the ninja, and then we disappeared from the residence right into the thick of things.

Kyoto.

The circle dropped us practically in the center of the city, whose residents were apparently evacuated or something. Right in front of me, Yasaka in the form of a huge golden fox with nine tails was fighting a snake-like dragon, Vritra, if my memory serves me right. About a kilometer away from me, there was also a battle going on between the Rias retinue and the Hero Faction. Although, Cao Cao felt a bit different than last time, a bit darker and more fierce, I'd say.

- "Your orders, my king?" Rea-chan asked while the ninja watched the fight worriedly.

- "Help Rias, it seems like they could use a little help," I said and activated the magic chains, "I'll come over a little later."

I teleported to Yasaka and Vritra's feet and snapped my fingers.

Golden chains braided Yasaka and pushed Vritra away from her. The fox started struggling, trying to break free, and then opened her maw and pointed it at me. In the next second, a destructive beam erupted out of it and headed straight for me.

- "Romani-sensei!" Saji's voice came from Vritra, "Vritra, protect him!"

The dragon moved towards me, but I just grinned and put out my hand. A magical circle almost the size of a skyscraper appeared, which completely absorbed the attack and then rapidly shrank into a small ball filled with trapped energy. My chains immediately shrank even tighter, completely enveloping Yasaka, immobilizing and disarming her, and at that very moment Vritra flew over to me.

- "Are you alright, Sensei?" The dragon-shaped Saji asked, looking at me.

- "Yeah," I shrugged, still holding the balloon over my palm.

- "So, you're the Romani Archaman?" Vritra inquired, "Ddraig told me about you and the Great Mother. Glad to meet you in person."

- "Polite dragon, eh? I like it," I said and tossed a ball into its mouth, "Here. It'll help restore a little of your original powers. I understand Azazel has already given you the other parts of the Sacred Gear of Vritra, Saji?"

- "Accept my thanks," Vritra said, and then his body in a glow of violet light began to slowly shrink, revealing Saji at the end.

- "Yes, Sensei. And thank you," Saji nodded, "'We need to get Yasaka-sama back to his senses soon and go to the others. It's the Hero Faction led by Cao Cao who possesses the True Longinus."

- "Aha," I nodded and walked over to Yasaka and placed my hand on her big nose, "It's time to wake up, Yasaka-san."

Her consciousness was completely isolated from her body, but thanks to a little manipulation, her huge body began to glow, and a few seconds later, an unconscious Yasaka was already lying in front of me. By this point, Miss Ninja had just arrived, which immediately rushed to check on her mistress.

- "So... easy...?" Saji asked.

- "Amazing," I heard Vritra's voice from the glove on Saji's hand.

- "Miss Ninja will take care of Yasaka, and you, Saji, can rest," I said and looked in the direction of the bright column of scarlet-green light that pierced the sky, "Okay, now we're down to them."

In the next instant, I was right in front of Cao Cao in a vast crater, blocking his spear that he had almost pierced through Issei's head with. He looked a bit different from before, for under his clothes were tattoos soaked in Hades' mana, I realized, and because of that Cao Cao Cao's aura gave off a strong Death vibe.

Georg was next to him, and when he saw me, he immediately became anxious and tense. Besides him, there was also Jeanne, judging from the color of her hair and eyes that she looked normal, as well as Heracles, who looked like a walking corpse because of her black skin and blank stare.

- "Romani Archaman..." Cao Cao began, grimly grinning, and Heracles roared almost as much as the Servant with the same name.

- "Sensei!" exclaimed the demons behind my back that were pretty beaten up, especially Issei. Rea-chan, on the other hand, was in front of Rias and protecting them.

- "Oh, Cao Cao, it's so good to see you!" I smiled wryly, and withdrew my spear with my finger and patted Cao Cao's shoulder as if we were old friends, "How are you? How are the children? How are your 'hero' activities? I see you're making progress. Or not."

- "So, you're in my way again," he said, jumping away from me and looking at the now clear horizon, "But this time it's going to be different."

- "Heh. Can you tell me what you're taking? I think your pills are a bit off the doctor's prescription," I winked at him, to which Cao Cao squeezed the True Longinus harder and pointed it at me.

- "It's time for us to retreat," Georg said.

- "Yes, we can try again later," Jeanne nodded.

- "No, I can do it this time," Cao Cao said quite confidently and looked at his companions, "Keep the others occupied. Mr. Archaman is on me."

- "But..." Jeanne started hesitantly as she was immediately interrupted by Cao Cao.

- "This is an order," he said coldly, "Heracles, attack the demons."

He immediately roared like a wild beast and rushed at Rias and her retinue. The last time we met, I had untied the Sacred Gear from his soul, but apparently Cao Cao had given him another one, for Xenovia and Koneko were holding Heracles back with great difficulty. Jeanne and Georg, on the other hand, glanced at each other, but still went to carry out the order, leaving me and Cao Cao alone.

- "Hm..." I thoughtfully mumbled as I watched their battle and grinned, "What you did to your friend definitely raises questions for you as a supporter of humanity. I think even Rias is closer to humanity than you are."

- "Don't compare me to demons, Mr. Archaman," Cao Cao said icily, "My desire is to save people, and if that requires a sacrifice, I am willing to pay it."

- "But for some reason it is not you who pays, but others. How funny you are," I chuckled as in the next instant, a True Longinus covered in a dark aura headed for my head. The attack was blocked by my finger again, but this time it left a tiny, almost imperceptible scratch on my skin, causing my eyebrow to raise and Cao Cao to smirk bloodily.

- "I can kill you now," he said confidently and broke the distance again, "For the good of mankind."

I, on the other hand, looked at my finger, which had already regenerated, and then at the True Longinus.

So, apparently Cao Cao had spent a huge amount of time bathing in the energy of Hades-controlled Tartarus. The aura of Death enveloped True Longinus, somehow weakening the will of the Bible God, which was why Cao Cao was able to injure me. Although, it was hard to believe it, because he had returned to life and most likely willingly allowed it to happen, it was unclear why. However...

I grinned, and in the next instant, a wave of mana erupted from my body, throwing everyone away except Cao Cao, who had his feet firmly planted on the ground and was pointing his spear at me.

- "Why not put your words to the test, hm, cellophane bag?"
