Chapter 517: The Girl Who Drives a Ferrari_2
Of course, Chu Mo didn't come here purely for official business. As a tourist destination, Dali was also a great choice to relax and ease his mind.
Dali had established five national forest parks: Weibao Mountain in Weishan County, Qinghua Cave in Xiangyun County, Dongshan in Midu County, Lingbaoshan in Nanjian County, and Baotaishan in Yongping County.
The state hosts one national nature reserve (Cangshan Erhai), three provincial nature reserves (Tianchi in Yunlong County, Jizushan in Binchuan County, and Jingguang Temple in Yongping County), and fourteen county-level nature reserves.
Cang Mountain has been identified as home to 182 families, 927 genera, and about 3,000 species of higher plants. Dali is one of Hua Country's major medicinal material producing areas, known for its variety and high quality, with 600 kinds of Chinese medicinal materials included in the national economy.
Kunpeng Martial Arts Academy is located in Jingmen District of Dali City. After disembarking from the private plane, Chu Mo headed towards this beautiful city with the protection of several dozen bodyguards.
Dali Airport is situated at the intersection of Fengyi Town and Haidong Township, 12 kilometers from Dali City. A convoy of luxury cars made their way smoothly and appeared in the city center after just ten minutes.
The area seemed to have just experienced rainfall; the air was exceptionally fresh, and puddles of water were occasionally found in some potholes.
After entering the city, Chu Mo, sitting in the back seat of a Rolls-Royce, rolled down the window. Unlike the skyscrapers of the big city, this entire city was built amid lush greenery and clear water. With the air fresh, the environment pleasant, and the weather just cleared up, leaving the air slightly moist, one could smell the fragrance of nature with a deep breath.
The motorcade slowly stopped at a crossroads where they had to wait for a red light, which would take dozens of seconds to change. Moments later, Chu Mo pushed the car door open himself. As he stepped out, a crew of bodyguards immediately disembarked. Chu Mo waved his hand and casually instructed,
"I want to walk around a bit, just follow nearby!"
This was Chu Mo's first visit to this beautiful city. He didn't want to rush through it. Subduing Wu Kunpeng wasn't a matter of urgency since the man was at the martial arts academy and couldn't escape. Thus, Chu Mo appeared quite leisurely and at ease.
The lead bodyguard, Fan Gao, made several hand signals, and the black-clad men returned to the vehicles. Afterward, only Fan Gao and Fang Lihu followed Chu Mo, one on the left and one on the right.
Fan Gao's chronic illness was completely cured; his meridians had been widened by the Grandmaster Jiang Dingnan, allowing him to hold more True Qi. Therefore, his strength was three parts stronger than in his previous peak.
Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, Fan Gao still couldn't assimilate the strand of Innate True Qi that Jiang Dingnan left in his body. So, his power remained at the threshold of Grandmaster. Whether he could challenge the status of a Great Grandmaster in the future was a matter of fate.
Nevertheless, Fan Gao's current strength was nothing to scoff at and would be considered at the peak of a near-Grandmaster level. If he had sparred with the detective agency's chief, Jiang Tao, before, their chances of winning would have been fifty-fifty. Now, if they were to duel, Fan Gao had a ninety percent chance of victory.
It wasn't that Jiang Tao had grown weaker, but that Fan Gao had become much stronger, and it was all because of Jiang Dingnan's Innate True Qi.
That is the real terror of a martial arts Grandmaster.
Of course, when Jiang Dingnan helped Fan Gao widen his meridians, he also expended quite a bit of Innate True Qi. Although he could recover after a period of rest, such actions could not be done frequently, or even a martial arts Great Grandmaster like Jiang Dingnan would exhaust his Innate True Qi.
That left Chu Mo with some regrets. Previously, he had thought about the possibility of having Jiang Dingnan help all his near-Grandmaster associates to unblock their veins fully. With enough luck, he might have gained another Great Grandmaster in his circle.
But all these were wishful thinking on Chu Mo's part.
Chu Mo's trip to Dali was a secret, known only to those extremely close to him. Outsiders had no clue, and naturally, the security for this affair with a half-step Grandmaster had to be comprehensive.
Apart from the detective agency's chief Jiang Tao, who remained at the main base in the metropolis, Chu Mo had brought all the capable hands he could muster, and naturally, the martial arts Great Grandmaster Lei Ting was among them.
However, this Great Grandmaster was no ordinary person, and even Chu Mo couldn't simply order him around. Lei Ting would only take action if Chu Mo's safety was threatened.
One could say that the Great Grandmaster Lei Ting was Chu Mo's last line of defense for his safety.
As a Great Grandmaster of martial arts, Lei Ting had not sensed any danger. So even though the drivers and passengers of a dozen vehicles had all gotten out, he remained calmly seated in the Rolls-Royce's passenger seat. It wasn't until Chu Mo gave the order that a group of black-clad bodyguards got back into the cars, and Lei Ting still did not react in the slightest.
Having gotten out of the car, Chu Mo walked quietly through the bustling streets of Dali City, which was teeming with skyscrapers and somewhat reminiscent of the magic metropolis.
Jiang Tao and Fang Lihu walked behind Chu Mo. Knowing that Chu Mo wanted some quiet, they did not follow too closely, staying three to four meters behind. Their gaze could be described as exceptionally sharp. They did not let anyone passing by Chu Mo escape their scrutiny, ready to step forward for close protection should they spot any suspicious individuals.
Chu Mo's trip to Dali was highly confidential from the start, so there were basically no major security issues. Moreover, with the personal protection of a Great Grandmaster and a half-step Grandmaster, not even a fly could get near him.
At this moment, Chu Mo's face was relaxed, and his mood was similarly pleasant. Just as he had crossed the road, the roar of a car suddenly came from around the corner of a building. With no time to react, a red Ferrari sped past him, and coincidentally, there was some stagnant water in a depression by the curb, completely splashing mud onto Chu Mo without restraint.
Chu Mo extended his hand and wiped the droplets of water off his cheek with his sleeve. When he looked up, he saw the red Ferrari slowly disappearing from view, while the loud roar still echoed in his ears.
"Mr. Chu, are you alright?"
Fan Gao, with utmost caution in his eyes, had already joined Chu Mo's side. A cold sweat broke out on the back of Fan Gao, who had just been focusing on the crowd around Chu Mo, ensuring that no one would suddenly make a move. However, he had neglected the distant defense.
The sudden appearance of the Ferrari had been beyond his prediction. Now thinking back, if the Ferrari had aimed straight at Chu Mo, even as a half-step Grandmaster, he would not have been able to react in time.
Fan Gao and Fang Lihu had already surrounded Chu Mo at the center. Chu Mo, whose clothes were stained with mud, gestured lightly with his hand to indicate he was alright.
"It's just an accident, don't be nervous," he said.
Adjusting the gold glasses on the bridge of his nose, Chu Mo's previously comfortable mood had become somewhat gloomy. Although not upset enough to spoil his mood over this minor incident, he certainly didn't feel as comfortable and wonderful as before.
The mud stains on his body made him look somewhat disheveled, and he no longer felt like continuing his stroll. Instead, Chu Mo decided to get back in the car.
He ordered Fan Gao, who, with a gentle wave of his hand, signaled the convoy that was already close behind to slowly approach. Chu Mo got into the Rolls-Royce, and as the convoy started up, he leaned back in the rear seat to rest his eyes.
However, just a moment later, Fan Gao, sitting in the driver's seat upfront, suddenly spoke:
"Mr. Chu, it seems that it was this Ferrari that dirtied your clothes! Should we teach them a lesson?" he asked.
Upon hearing this, Chu Mo opened his eyes. He turned to look outside the car window, where on the roadside, a red Ferrari was stopped, surrounded by a crowd. In the center of the people was a pale-faced girl, clearly indicating some kind of accident had happened to the Ferrari.
Chu Mo glanced down at the splotches of water on his clothes and suddenly instructed Fan Gao in the front seat:
"Stop for a moment!"
As the words fell, the Rolls-Royce slowly came to a halt. After getting out of the car, Chu Mo looked at the Ferrari, soon followed by the crowd not far behind. He then instructed Fan Gao:
"Take two people with me to have a look, the rest stay put!"
