Chapter 7: First Homeroom (1)
“Hmm? Oh, has the bell already rung?” I mumbled to myself pulling myself from the window.
I noticed people starting to take their seats and some leaving the classroom to go to their ones. I then notice a few seats around me completely empty which surprised me because I thought everyone was in the class. I then shrug my shoulders before looking back out the class window as I heard multiple footsteps enter the class among the conversations which quietened slightly on the guy’s side seeing who entered the classroom, but I couldn’t care less. I slipped my headphones off and placed them in my bag whilst waiting for our teacher to arrive.
About 5 minutes later, the front classroom door opens revealing a tall slender woman in a business suit with a figure most girls would be jealous of. She has long black hair that would reach her waist, but it is currently in some sort of bun, and she also wears small, framed lenses causing people to think she is quite a smart person. I only took one glance at her before turning back to the window. But something about her nagged at the back of my mind.
“Good morning class. My name is, Miss Riley and I will be your homeroom teacher this year. But I do also teach Math’s, History and Physical Education.” She announces showing a serious yet friendly smile to her new students to give a good impression.
I heard the announcement from the teacher as I looked out the window, but I also felt something still nagging at the back of my mind as I heard her speaking. But I couldn’t put my finger on it whilst hearing the scribbling of a whiteboard pen, which I assumed she was writing information about the class including her name as that is what teachers normally do.
“Right. I’m now going to pass out a small piece of paper to each of you with a few questions. Once you answer the questions, they will be placed into a box, and we will take one at random. Ok?
Question 1: Your Name?
Question 2: Your Hobbies?
Question 3: What Are You Looking Forward to This Year?
And finally, Question 4: Tell Something Unique About Yourself? Then I will place these on the board here so that everyone will remember what their goals are and get to know each other better.” She says with expectation in her voice.
I groaned inwardly at the words that the teacher has spoken as I heard clicking heels walking up to and past my desk. Before seeing a slender manicured hand placing a slip of paper onto my desk with those exact questions on the sheet.
“Sigh!” sighing in annoyance at seeing the questions, before pulling out my pen and writing basic answers for the questions because I really wasn’t in the mood for any of it.
‘Question 1: Blake
Question 2: Nothing
Question 3: Nothing
Question 4: I want to be left alone!’
I looked over the answers showing that I didn’t want to get involved with, before folding the piece of paper up and placing it into the box that Miss Riley is carrying around the class, collecting the pieces of paper. Before heading back to the podium at the front of the class and placing the box down.
