Trapped in the Underworld

Chapter 3: The Gorgeous man

No! No! This can't be happening right now. I can't be in the same space as the drug lord. I'm chained up on the bed, and I'm naked too. What more can I do in my helpless state? I cried so hard, like I would die. I don't know where they took Adriana. I don't know if she's still alive. Nicholas Gonzalez is the world's most wanted drug lord, and he kills whoever comes his way without giving a damn. What have I gotten myself into? This isn't how I pictured my life. I've always wanted to be a doctor. I've always wanted to save lives. Now, who is going to save my life? I'm doomed.

It's been over thirty minutes now since I was left in the room with no one to talk to. I screamed out loud for help. I know help won't come for me, but I can give it a try. I kept screaming my lungs out. I don't care if my screams irritate them. I just want to be out of this place. I want to be somewhere far away. I don't want to be here. I want to save Adriana. I don't know where they kept her. No one told me anything.

"Someone, help me!" I screamed so loudly. The door burst open, and a lady walked inside. She gave me a murderous look. She's a little old, but she had deep blue eyes that seemed to be staring into my soul.

"How dare you raise your voice?" she asked, her tone deadly, as if she was about to pounce on me.

"I have every right to scream for help. I didn't do anything. Why are you people holding me hostage?" I said, trying to summon courage.

She raised an eyebrow. "You wouldn't be brought here if you didn't do anything. So stop acting as if you aren't guilty of the crime you're being punished for."

I shook my head. "I promise, I didn't do what they thought I did. My ex took their money. It wasn't me."

She shrugged. "As long as you had something to do with your ex, and he's not in town, then you're the one taking the blame."

"But I didn't know he did that. Why is it so hard for you guys to understand me? I didn't do it! I didn't!"

"Don't yell at me. Don't you dare," she snapped at me. She came closer to the bed and pulled my hair. I winced in pain.

"This is the beginning of your worthless life. You and your so-called boyfriend shouldn't have gotten yourself involved with the master. So stop blaming anyone," she said, her breath reeking of alcohol. I'm sure she's an alcoholic. What do I expect? They work for the mafia king; it's normal for them to act like him.

Tears welled up in my eyes. "I'm innocent. I just want to go home. I'm innocent."

"Innocent, my ass," she said and let my hair go.

"What about my friend? Her name is Adriana... please, where did they take her? She's innocent. It's me you want, so take me and leave her out of it."

She smirked. "It's too late, princess. You disobeyed the master twice, and he's going to punish you by holding your friends hostage too. So, get used to it, princess."

I glared hard at her. "Adriana is innocent. You people can't take her. Let her go. She's innocent!"

She chuckled like a sadist. "It's too late, princess." She made her way to the door and waved at me before leaving.

I let out a scream. I tried pulling off the chain, but nothing was working. I was frustrated. I need to see Adriana. I need to see her. I can't let her die because of me. I can't.

Hours later, the door opened again, and this time, another lady walked in. She was also as old as the other woman who came earlier, but something was different about this woman. She had a warm smile on her face. I was confused.

"Who are you?" I asked.

She held something that looked like clothes. "I brought you your clothes. You'll be working for the master from now on," she said to me. I didn't like the sound of it.

"Please don't keep me here. I need to leave this place. I need to find my friend. She's innocent," I said.

She heaved a sigh. "I wish I could help you, dear, but I can't. The master is waiting for you downstairs. Here are your clothes." She kept them beside me on the bed. "You need to change into this."

I stared at her, confused. "How am I going to change when I'm chained to the bed?" I asked.

She realized her mistake. "Oh, my bad." She searched for something in her apron pocket. It was a key. This woman seemed a little nicer than the other one. She came forward and unlocked the lock. I was finally free. I rubbed my wrist gently, and it was bruised from all the dragging.

She was still standing, waiting for me to change, I guess.

"I haven't taken my bath... can't I at least take a bath?" I asked.

She shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I was told to bring you now. I'm sure you can take your bath when he's done with you downstairs."

When he's done with me? How? Is he planning to force himself on me again? Is that it? She must have seen the look on my face before saying, "He wants to read out the rules to you."

I nodded and did as I was told. I changed into the uniform she gave me. I swallowed hard because I knew this was the beginning of my doom.

"Let's go," she said, and I nodded my head and followed her out of the room. Even if I try to escape, I'm sure there are guards outside who won't let me pass easily. I need to think fast. What am I going to do to escape this hellhole?

We trotted down the stairs. I guess we were late because the lady was walking fast, and it was hard to catch up. I could feel eyes on me as we made our way to who-knows-where. There were several maids around the house. It's more like a castle. This is a huge house. I didn't know it was this big. I didn't dare to stare because it would feel rude. I just wanted to be out of this place. I badly needed to leave this place at all costs.

We walked into another room. Another thing I noticed was the number of guards in the hallway. There were so many of them. They all looked huge and ready to kill. I swallowed hard at the thought of getting killed.

The lady suddenly stopped, and I almost stumbled on her. I quickly got myself together. I heard deep voices coming from a room. She heaved a sigh and turned. I could see the fear in her eyes too.

"We're here," she said.

I had so many questions I needed to ask her. I didn't know if now was the right time or maybe I should wait. She knocked on the door. She waited a few seconds before she was permitted to come in. She motioned that I follow her in, and what I saw was beyond me. Half-naked ladies filled the room. There were men of different caliber sitting and smoking junk. My heart was racing fast. The ladies kept rubbing their arms on the men. Each male had like four ladies with them. It irked me to see ladies in this situation. What's even more annoying is the fact that they don't feel disgusted. They were doing it happily.

"Sir, here she is," the lady I came with said, and Nicholas made a signal to stop the music. I raised my head up and was met with his piercing grey eyes. I couldn't look away.

I don't know for how long we stared at each other but something he said snapped me out .

" Do you want to die ?" That was a question he asked that snapped me out .

The realization dawn on me that I was in the devils den . I summoned the courage and said " where is my friend ?"

He hissed " don't be disrespectful !"

I glared at him " you don't tell me what to do when you brought me here against my will " I snapped at him .

The lady beside me gasped. I'm sure no one has ever stood up to him, because the shock on everyone's face said it all. Nicholas got up from his seat and strode my way. He grabbed me by my hair and said, "I said don't talk to me in that manner." He warned, his voice low and menacing. I winced in pain.

"Let me go, you coward!" I spat, defiance burning within me. "How can you do this to a lady who is innocent?"

Various gasps could be heard around the room. I was crossing boundaries, and I didn't care. He could kill me if he wanted to.

"I SAID STOP FUCKING TALKING TO ME IN SUCH A MANNER!" Nicholas bellowed, his face red with rage.

"LET ME GO, THEN!" I screamed back, refusing to back down.
