Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 34

Chapter 34: Cat

The rain was pouring heavily, and Ning Chu’s mood felt as heavy as the dark clouds overhead.

He had only just realized that even if he hadn’t transformed into a girl, he was still in danger.

It wasn’t that being supported by a rich woman was bad—his sensitive stomach actually preferred the soft life. But from the perspective of the average perverted Small Royal Text, given his small stature, he might not be enough for the rich ladies here who had their way with him.

Moreover, even though there were no scenarios in the book with men on top, what about the passersby outside the plot? Who knew if there was a guy out there who might like his cute little boy charm!

“Not happy, huh?” Wen Yang laughed maliciously. “No worries, next time you go on a date with the boss lady, I’ll be your wingman.”

He had already cooked up his conditions: as long as Ning Chu didn’t bother him and his girl during their dates…

“No need, I’m not interested in rich women.”

Wen Yang paused, struggling to understand Ning Chu’s reasoning. “But the boss lady is wealthy, gentle, and beautiful with a fine figure. What’s wrong with her besides being a few years older than you?”

“Too tough, can’t handle the soft life!” Ning Chu argued, “Besides, I’m a man! It’s not just about making my own career; I need to support myself. Relying on others is no skill at all!”

“……”

Wen Yang was rendered speechless by this very principled argument.

The two walked side by side under an umbrella into the school gates.

On such a rainy day, there was no sign of students around; occasionally, a few delivery workers in raincoats hurried past, their presence drowned out by the pitter-patter of the falling rain.

Even with the umbrella, Ning Chu’s shoes and pants were already soaked, but thankfully he was wearing flip-flops.

“Let’s go back for a nap, I’m so sleepy,” he couldn’t help yawning and then turned to Wen Yang, asking, “What about you? Going back to play games or…?”

“With this rain, what else can I do besides play games or sleep?” Wen Yang shook his head in exasperation.

For everyone else, yes, but not for you.

Ning Chu grumbled in his heart, but his attention was drawn to a shivering little coal ball curled up at the entrance of the cafeteria.

That was…

He instinctively quickened his pace, hurriedly making his way to the awning of the cafeteria, crouching down to take a closer look at the little cat curled up tightly.

“A stray cat?” Wen Yang caught up, curiously asking, “Looks like it’s not doing well, probably caught a cold from the rain?”

“Yeah, it’s shaking a lot.”

Although the little kitten was all black, Ning Chu recognized it immediately as the one he had fed before.

He hesitated, resting his hands on his knees, looking up at Wen Yang with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

“Want to take it home?”

“Yeah.”

Wen Yang furrowed his brow discreetly. “It’s not good to raise a cat in the dorm. What will you do when the holidays come? Just abandon it again?”

“I’ll take responsibility!”

Wen Yang looked down at the dirty little kitten, soaked from the rain. Though he appeared to dislike it, he reluctantly nodded, “Alright then.”

Ning Chu sensed that Wen Yang didn’t seem to like cats very much.

The plot in the book generally went: One day, Wen Yang woke up at home to find his cat had transformed into a cat girl, lying bare next to him in bed. Thanks to Wen Yang’s careful care, the cat girl just so happened to be in heat and decided to repay him.

If he didn’t like cats, how would the scenario of the little female cat repaying Wen Yang unfold?

He hesitated again; if this was indeed the little female cat from the plot, wouldn’t he be inviting trouble?

But that was a cat raised by Wen Yang and not one from the dorm.

What are the odds of that?

“Little Black~” Ning Chu spoke gently for the first time, quickly giving the little black cat a nickname while gently stroking it, his mind racing with thoughts.

If he did nothing, this kitten would likely die in tonight’s rain.

He wasn’t exactly a great person, but he had personally fed this little cat.

Even if this cat really could turn into a cat girl, given his experience of repeatedly disrupting plots and meddling with Wen Yang’s happy life, surely he could handle just one cat?

With that resolve in mind, Ning Chu finally stood up and said, “I’m going to buy a box of milk!”

“Get goat’s milk; most cats are allergic to cow’s milk.”

“Really?”

He was surprised, turning around to nod vigorously, then hurried off to buy goat’s milk, and also got a plastic bag from the store owner, carefully placing the little cat into the bag.

His steps back quickened significantly.

Once he reached the dorm, Ning Chu put down his umbrella, not caring about his drenched clothes, sprinting to grab the kettle and rushed out to the balcony.

“Where have you been? Took so long to return,” Zhang Shaoqing turned around, only to see a transparent plastic bag on the floor with a little black cat inside.

He asked in surprise, “Are you two planning to raise a cat?”

“Ning Chu wants to keep it; it looks like it has a cold and doesn’t seem energetic.”

“That’s nice; I like cats too.” Zhang Shaoqing excitedly approached, carefully taking the kitten out from the plastic bag. “Wait, what if it has a cold? Should we take it to the pet hospital?”

“I’ve got a new towel; let’s wrap it up and dry it off first,” Wen Yang said, pulling a fresh towel out of the drawer.

Then he rummaged through the drawer and found a box of cold medicine. “Ning Chu, give it some cold medicine later.”

“This is for humans, right?” Ning Chu asked as he returned from the balcony, setting the kettle down. “Is that alright?”

“What’s wrong with that? Just give it a little.” Wen Yang took out a pill, broke off a small piece with his nail, “This much should be fine; mix it with the goat’s milk for it to drink.”

Ning Chu realized this guy didn’t seem as disdainful of cats on the surface; he took care of the little one quite knowledgeable, much better than he did with his simplistic kindness for the cat.

“How do you know so much?”

“Just a little research.”

“Do you keep cats at home?”

Wen Yang was busy making a cozy spot for the kitten with his new towel when he heard Ning Chu’s question and shook his head. “My family doesn’t have a cat, but I often scroll through veterinary stuff on my phone and ended up looking at some.”

You should’ve said that sooner!

So, this little kitten was indeed the one from the plot!

If the plot follows its line, this cat would be taken in by Wen Yang and brought home during the holidays, right?

Ning Chu’s face darkened, his gaze instinctively drifting to the little curled-up kitten, which was now wide-eyed like crystal balls, staring intently at him.

“……”

No worries, this kitten is still young, even if it transforms into a cat girl on the spot, Wen Yang, this little virgin, wouldn’t be able to do anything.

While the cat was still young, he should focus on brainwashing it! Feeling grateful? Of course it should feel grateful to me for rescuing you!

With that thought, Ning Chu felt enlightened.

The girls in this world are too open-minded, making it easy for him to get blue balls, but he could raise one from a young age!

“Once the water boils, throw the goat’s milk in and let it sit for a few minutes.” Wen Yang pretended to despise the little cat, but his hands never stopped grooming its fur, guiding, “The milk shouldn’t be too hot, just a little warmer than your body temperature.”

Ning Chu responded nimbly, “Got it, got it! Shaoqing, stop staring at the cat like a fool! Come help!”

“Damn! I’m not staring like a fool!”
