Grandmaster Tailor
A woman was looking ardently bored as I stumbled in. She was an orc, much to my surprise, with thick, callous, covered fingers and rippling muscles. But they had a needle and thread and were perfectly working a cloth in their hand. It was a surprising contrast, and the orc turned their head. "Ah, Lady Greencloak, I assume this is the special request that you ordered for the party later today."
"Yes, Grand Master Muai, this is Elli, and it is a Male Succubus if you can believe it. It is a one-of-a-kind dress for that type of party," Lady Greencloak said with a large grin. I would be honored to show off such a lovely Succubus ordained in your cloth."
The orc, now standing, turned to face me with a newfound interest. The cloth she had been working on was set aside on a desk. I hadn't realized she had been sitting on a tiny stool, as the Grand Master now stood imposingly above me, towering at least seven feet high. Her muscular arm, larger than my head, and her large mouth with two imposing tusks, were a stark contrast to the delicate sewing she had just demonstrated.
The orc looked at me, her eyes squinting a little as she looked at me. "Tiny thing, but doable and such a one-of-a-kind thing," She grunted, "Bring her to me after the party at some point. I would be interested in working with a male succubus. It is something no one, but a few may brag about since this is the first to exist. It will be interesting, that along with typical payment. I will deal with the Succubus later for exchange of services."
----
New Quest. Grandmaster Maui's interest.
Grandmaster Maui has expressed interest in a way that allows you to exchange services with her.
Rewards: To be Negotiated.
Failure: Failure to come to mutual agreement for services rendered.
------
"Absolutely, Grandmaster Maui, I will let her have access to the Craftsman District so that she may visit you in the future." Lady Greencloak then bowed and so I followed suit and saw the Orc smile a bit. The imposing Orc woman turned and walked to a large shelf each with different clothes.
"You do well with dark colors, but black boring. Whites make no sense for succubus. Corrupt influence for demon affiliations. Holy Hypocrites annoyed if you show up in whites. No, Something red, blood red, dark like your affiliation with the Guru." My eyebrows rose, and I wondered what she meant about my affiliation with a Guru; Lady Greencloak turned to me, looking surprised as well. "Yes, yes, a dark red meant to enchant the weak-minded like those at the party. You must be able to wear it while feasting on their essence as required. I think I like this idea for dress. Shoes, you must speak to Ian down street. He will cost you too, but I will send him my idea, and he make now. Tallow, come, errand."
A short, elven girl suddenly popped out from behind a counter and nodded. The elf was even smaller than me! The orc then picked up a pen, drew something really quick, and handed it to the small elf. "Ian, errand, come back after and finish project for that dumbass."
"Yes, Master," the small elf said and took the paper out the door. The Orc looked me over with an eye that made me feel measured.
"Yes, I like idea. You will wait here for a moment, and we will discuss compensation," the orc said, turning to Lady Greencloak, who nodded.
Suddenly, I was alone in the shop as the Drow and Orc went through a large doorway. Without the massive orc in the shop, it felt much larger. The hulking mass of muscle made the room seem small in comparison. Clothing and various cloths were around in various colors that looked expensive. There were machines and various instruments for their craft, and I was worried about touching anything.
Not even a minute or so later, they walked out, both looking happy. "You, good sale, I like commission you dress in what I make. Yours, Lady Greencloak buy for you. You do good at party for her. She and I happy. Me not happy if you show my dress off poorly. This big event, you good to show off wares. Many will be jealous," The Grandmaster smiled, grabbed some blood-red cloth, and looked at me one more time. "Yes, You do good, now I make, you back in hour I be done in no less than two."
Then, without another word, the orc took the cloth and sat down on that tiny stool, and got to work. It looked almost comical if it wasn't for the fact that the Orc fingers started to move like a damn sowing machine with precision, skill, and dexterity that I could not imagine, and Lady Greencloak pulled me out of the shop as I stood fascinated.
"Come, We need to see the cobbler for your shoes. Grandmaster Maui is very happy with you as a canvus. I will have to thank Lady Yancy for bringing you to my attention."
I was surprised at the happiness the Tailor worked for Lady Greencloak but another thing came to mind.
What the hell was so important about this party?
