Dark Cities Politics

I would never underestimate pillow talk ever again.

This was a statement that I had concluded as I rode Seraiah again and again. Her cries and moans filled the room, and lunch turned into dinner. Seraiah would then give me more general information about the city. Even after a good dinner with her that I barely ate, she continued to talk, her eyes smiling, her expression showing the satisfaction she felt. I emptied her balls, and I knew I had a series of notifications I needed to look over, but I couldn't while talking with her.

Seraiah was a Businesswoman in the Business district. Her product was not luxury but something that could be sold in bulk. I found one of the reasons she was looking into the slums so much was that it was an area of interest where she could increase her profits. It was something she would never tell a rival. But I wasn't a rival; I was a special sex demon riding her for the night.

Although her information wasn't strictly what I needed, it was a general overview of the political situation in Dark City.

Dark City was a city that had too many interests working together and against each other at the same time. The leaders of the city allowed so many factions to fight inside its boundaries but kept overall control of the population through various methods that not even Seraiah understood. Very few areas were under the direct control of the leaders of Dark City. The areas they controlled, though, were the lifeblood of the city, and no other interest group was allowed to touch it.

The Fascinating thing was that the three or four main factions in the world I have discovered so far were not the only people fighting each other. Even factions inside the major factions were fighting each other for interests. It was utter chaos at all times, and it seemed inside this city when it came to the people fighting each other for interests.

The general background for the information hunt would allow me to find who I needed to find and get information. Seraiah was a godsend, and I couldn't help but be happy that I met her inside The Top's Casino. She was remarkably interested in everything as a businesswoman selling bulk materials from the nearby forests.

She had a large mercenary group that was loyal to her protecting a group of people gathering materials for another group and crafting those materials into Bulk items for sale. She wouldn't tell me exactly what her business was, but she was much more interested in the slums because it was a market she couldn't sell in. Seraiah sold in the business district and didn't have the strength to sell in the slums.

The slums in this city were so volatile that only those who could fight there would even attempt to do so, which started to make me wonder why the Hellfire Citidel was fighting in the slums. Was it because they couldn't find worshippers in other parts of the city, or was there more backing that we were not seeing?

My mind was racing, and my mind was stuck on something from Seraiah's analysis of the Slums. From a business person's reasoning, the main reason people fight over the Slums is the large low-cost bulk items sales market. That was a businesswoman's thoughts on it, but the main reason other organizations would be interested would be the people. Many looking for the next meal don't particularly care where that meal comes from. But it leaves poverty-stricken people vulnerable and susceptible to many things. That makes it easier for places of faith and many other things to dig their claws into place and hold them.

It wasn't only faiths either, as resentment builds quickly in places like these, and the Dark City's leaders couldn't control it. So they would scrap even trying to take control of it. It was a place probably where many could fight over the scraps that the city's leaders didn't want.

It was just a theory at this point, though, and I had no idea if it was true. In fact, I knew that I would never know if it was true. Still, they were working theories that we could work with. I had another meet-up with Seraiah tomorrow to actually tour the city a bit, and it was time to head back. Seraiah had paid for our meal and looked a little harrowed after everything I did to her. I couldn't help but wonder if this was how pillow talked worked for centuries or how the game decided to handle it.

I finally got dressed, and Fidel looked at me. "You didn't seem to get much from her today," She said.

"Yes, I did," I replied with a raised eyebrow. "I learned where I will probably need to start looking for this type of information plus general information, Fidel." I told her with a smile, "Quite a bit of that information as well, to be honest. If I could have gotten all of it on paper, I would have learned more probably. Seraiah was very forthcoming after being drained a bit. My legs and ass are still a bit sore from it all."

Fidel was looking at me, and I saw a faint blush as she looked down toward my legs. "We need to go," Fidel replied coldly, and I smiled.

I knew she was probably hoping for some more action from me before we left, but inside the Tops Casino, you couldn't tell the time at all. I had to rely on the alarm I had set to log off, which wasn't a good idea.

Stepping through the teleporter, I saw the vegetation again, but we mostly ignored it as we walked towards the exit. The Butler that guided us to the room gave me some side eye, but I departed the restaurant area at our own speed. Once we entered the Casino area, we departed through that teleporter before walking through the lobby out to the street.

It was dark out on the streets, and staring up into the sky, you could see that it was dusk and we had only a limited time to regroup with the party. Fidel and I picked up our pace leaving the Casino area. I thought it was an interesting stay, and it still reminded me of Las Vegas even as we went.

We reached the Inn, and the alarm sounded in my ear just down the street from the door. When we entered, I saw everyone else at a table turn towards Fidel and me with relief on their faces. A plate of food sat in front of everyone. I sat down and smiled, "How about we relax and do the meeting in the morning and just enjoy ourselves tonight?" I asked.

Smiles turned bright, and people started to dig into some barely warm food. I smiled and pecked at the food as everyone enjoyed themselves. Viccy talked about how she and Naughty went around the slums, and Gloom talked about the forest past the city walls. I smiled as the mood lightened, and everyone was enjoying themselves.

Although most of us were tired, I saw Fidel pull on Naughty's hand for a moment, and the woman smiled. "Looks like I will be logging off late tonight," She said to Viccy and me. "I will see you in the morning, ladies." She finished and pulled a now blushing Fidel into the bathroom. Iona and Gloom both looked tired after stripping off their armor, and I realized both looked sweaty. Moving around in the forest must have taken a toll on them. So Viccy and I logged off, and I made sure that I hugged Iona to help her sleep. Her smell was a little musky, but I could feel her relax as I logged off.
