NOVEL WEB Chapter 22: 22.We meet again
After that whole moment with Luka and Olivia Max and Vance finally got out of the school
Max:Ahhhh feels really nice to finally be out of the house,no offence though.
Vance:Haha don't worry about that I know that you must have been itching to finally get out,sorry that I'm telling you to go somewhere with me just after I put you in school and making you delay your studies.
Max:Nah I get it as much as I hate to admit it no matter how you see it I'm still weak,that moment when Luka was putting pressure on me with his mana was really scary I didn't know what to do,even if I wanted to do something I couldn't move a inch,I guess all this time I thought that everything would go like a breeze but I guess it isn't like that.
Vance:Well I'm kinda hungry aren't you?I know a good place where we could go eat some nice food.
Max:Come on man I'm opening myself up and you're thinking about food?
Vance:Come on let's go I guarantee you'll like it.
Vance started walking talking to himself about how hungry he was
'This guy isn't listening at all'
Max:I guess I could eat something right know I didn't eat anything since Olivia surprised me this morning.
Vance:See I knew you were hungry as well.
They were walking through the town,people weren't looking at Max with disgust anymore
Max:I wanted to ask this before but why is everyone treating me normally?
Vance:They're just treating you like this because they know of the challenge that you accepted.
Max:Yeah the old man at his shop told that but how do they know that?
Vance:Of course they're gonna know this is a big deal you're asking to be a part of our race this is an ancient costume basically in accepting the challenge that my foolish son gave you,you're renouncing your rights as a human and you want to be an elf basically.
Max:Yeah I get that but why are they not treating me badly as before?
Vance:That's simple they respect you,you may not understand but saying that you want to renounce you're status to become someone or something else it is the biggest form of respect someone could give to someone and it isn't easy just waking up one day and saying you want to do something like this,abandoning your family everything you've ever known,but since you're an orherworlder it's easy on you.
Max:Oh well I guess that's true.
Vance:But you know,even if you're an otherworlder what you did is already amazing
Max:What did I do?
Vance:Come on suddenly being in another world with no one you're familiar with then just accepting to fight someone you don't even know,I must say you're really amazing,you say that it isn't easy but you're already doing great things and the place I'm taking you I'm sure you'll be able to overcome anything thrown at you.
Max couldn't help but feel happy inside,the words that Vance told him was enough to calm him down and he was even more determined to succeed.
Max:Haha you're right I shouldn't be down in the dumps because I was humiliated when I come back I'll show them what I'm capable of
Vance:That's the spirit kiddo,we're here.
Max looked at the restaurant and it was a restaurant that looked amazing.
'Wow i guess the elves got a good sense of decoration'
Vance pushed the doors and they went in,everyone inside looked at them and everything went quiet
'Ehh?what's wrong Vance told me that they wouldn't be hostile anymore'

Everyone started cheering and being loud

Vance:Come on kid let's find a place to sit
They were making way through everyone cause they wanted to swarm around Vance some people took a look at Max but they didn't give a second look
'I must say I quite like this feeling I feel normal'
They found a place to sit and and a waitress came to them.
Waitress:Hello there what would like for today?
Vance:Can you give us two of the specials for today?
Waitress:Of course, please wait a moment your food will come in a few minutes.
Vance:Thank you
Max:This is a nice restaurant
Vance:Of course it is,I'm sure you've seen other places here that also have a nice architecture to them.
Max:Now that I think about it your right most of the buildings,the school they were all very beautiful.
Vance:Elves think of themselves like the superior race so of course they would do everything to show their status to society.
Max:Is that so?
Vance:I'm gonna be honest with you kid there are a lot of things that I can't teach you,you'll have to explore the world and have various experiences for you to ha e your own opinion on things,I can't say I know everything about history or why this or that happened I can only give you a rough idea of what I think but I can assure you that I'll at least prepare you the best I can for when the time comes for you to go out and explore.
Max:I know you're doing the best you can,so can you tell me about the place that we're goin-huh?
Suddenly someone put his arm around Max neck
???:Haha kid I couldn't believe when I heard the news that you're trying to be part of our city,oh my I did not expect you to have in you,you seemed like a scaredy cat when I first saw you hahahaha
Max looked at the guy and he recognised him as the guy who first escorted him to the Palace.
Max:It's you
???:Yeah yeah it's me surprised to see me again?
Max:Not really I had forgotten about you so I didn't really care if I would meet you or not.
???:Come on why are you being such a mood killer?this is a happy reunion don't you think?
Max:Such a bother haaa
Vance:Are you drunk Vaedrik?
Vaedrik:Drunk?me?come on Vance you know me better than that.
Vance:No matter how you look at it you're cleary drunk,stop bothering us and go away.
Vaedrik:What if I say no?what are you gonna do?
Vance started gathering mana around him and the restaurant went quiet
Vance:You're not going to like what I'm gonna do.
It seemed like Vaedrik wasn't one to back away easily cause he also started to gather his mana.
