Transmigration: The Peerless Immortal Husband

Chapter 179 - The Downfall of Qianxue Sect

The senior members of Qianxue Sect gathered at the Sect Master’s closed-door cultivation room, but the meeting ended in discord. The array formations and restrictions surrounding the room had been set up by a Golden Core cultivator, so even if the senior members wanted to break in forcefully, it was not something they could do in a short period of time. They also feared that the heavily injured Golden Core cultivator who had escaped was not actually Sect Master Hong. They didn’t want to take any chances—if they made a move and things turned out wrong, they would have no way to retreat.

Despite the commotion, Sect Master Hong still did not emerge from his closed-door cultivation. The already unstable situation became even more chaotic, leading people to believe even more strongly that Sect Master Hong was the injured Golden Core cultivator. When one of the sect’s key administrators, along with a group of disciples, fled the sect, Qianxue Sect was thrown into an uproar. The news spread quickly, and forces from all over began to watch the situation unfold.

The fleeing disciples included both outer and inner sect members, all carefully nurtured by the sect. However, when the critical moment arrived, they chose to run without hesitation. From a moral standpoint, this was heavily criticized, as they were abandoning their sect in its time of need. Such disciples would likely be unwanted by other sects, who feared that they might do the same if trouble arose.

Not long after, Director Yu received a message. After reading the message, he simply raised an eyebrow, and other high-ranking officials received the same news at the same time and hurriedly gathered.

“Elder Gan of Qianxue Sect was killed by other senior members who teamed up against her!”

“Chaos has erupted in Qianxue Sect!”

The messages came in one after another, so quickly that even the senior officials of Tianfu Academy barely had time to process the information. They learned that after a key administrator led a group of disciples to flee, such a major upheaval occurred soon afterward.

“Director, what direction do you think Qianxue Sect will take?”

“Director, should we intervene? This is a golden opportunity to absorb Qianxue Sect. No matter how poor a sect is, it still has a significant amount of cultivation resources accumulated over time.”

“We don’t need to intervene right now, so we don’t get dragged into this mess. With the situation in Qianxue Sect, they will collapse on their own without us lifting a finger. Qianxue Sect, sigh… it’s been around for many years, but who would have thought it would end like this.”

Everyone had already concluded that the heavily injured Golden Core cultivator was Sect Master Hong himself. So, even if he did show up, there was no possibility of turning the situation around. In fact, it was likely that before outsiders could intervene, Sect Master Hong would be killed by his own people to avoid being held accountable by the sect later.

“That’s right,” Director Yu spoke up. “We should make sure our disciples don’t get involved in the turmoil in Qianxue Sect. We’ll just observe the outcome.”

With Chi Changye breaking through to the Golden Core, Director Yu could confidently say that Tianfu Academy was now in the most dominant position. Chi Changye’s combat prowess was astonishing, and even Director Yu himself couldn’t guarantee how long he could last against him. One person like Chi Changye could easily match two newly-formed Golden Cores, even surpassing them. So now, Tianfu Academy had truly risen, and no one could suppress them any longer.

“Understood, Director.”

Once Gu Yao and Chi Changye had finally cleared all the various toxins, the matter of Qianxue Sect came to a close.

“Qianxue Sect is gone? It’s become history?” Gu Yao said in surprise. He had been so focused on neutralizing the toxins that he hadn’t had much energy to follow other events. However, the people around him were very clear about what had been happening and had been closely monitoring Qianxue Sect.

“Yeah, sounds like you’re a bit regretful? Sympathetic?” Lu Qiusheng teased.

Gu Yao rolled his eyes. “Sympathetic? To hell with that! Was Sect Master Hong the one who ambushed Brother Ye? They deserve whatever happened to them. I just didn’t expect it to happen so quickly. I haven’t even done anything to take revenge myself, and that feels pretty annoying!”

Those who heard him couldn’t help but chuckle. Anyone who thought Gu Yao was a soft target had made a huge mistake—he was clear-headed about things.

Chi Changye ruffled Gu Yao’s hair with a warm smile, which made Lu Qiusheng shudder. When Chi Changye had fought through his tribulation, his fame had spread far and wide. Now, seeing him in such a gentle and warm light, outsiders would probably never believe it. Lu Qiusheng didn’t know that Chi Changye’s contrasting expressions could be described as having a split personality.

Tian Feirong kindly informed Gu Yao: “After the senior members of Qianxue Sect joined forces to kill Elder Gan, there was internal strife among them. The main issue was the fight over the sect’s cultivation resources, and in the end, they split apart, with many disciples dying or getting injured. Several factions fled, taking the stolen resources and talented disciples with them. In the end, those who remained in Qianxue Sect, after discussing it, decided to join us at Tianfu Academy.”

Gu Yao suddenly realized how much he had missed. “Did Director Yu accept these people?”

Tian Feirong replied, “After discussing it with the peak masters, Director Yu decided to establish Qianxue Sect as a separate peak under Tianfu Academy. It will now be known as Qianxue Peak. From now on, the large area of the Qiuqiu Mountain Range, which used to belong to Qianxue Sect, will be our Academy’s private territory.”

Unlike before, when Qianxue Sect and Tianfu Academy shared ownership, allowing outside cultivators to enter, it is now still possible for them to enter, but they must first inform the Academy and follow the official arrangements. Otherwise, Tianfu Academy can expel them without hesitation.

Jiang Yan added, “Not only that, but the resources like the mines, spiritual fields, and spiritual veins that Qianxue Sect could not take with them now belong to our Academy. This is a very profitable deal for us. Of course, the biggest contributor to this is Brother Chí.”

Chi Changye didn’t insist on changing the way they addressed him to ‘Senior Chi’ because he knew that Gu Yao considered these people as friends.

Upon hearing this, Chi Changye simply raised an eyebrow, not at all surprised by the praise, as it was the truth. After all, why would a sect have powerful experts in charge if not for this? It was a true reflection of the situation. As a result, while he contributed to the Academy, the Academy also elevated his status to the highest level, placing him on par with the Director.

However, aside from the collections and spiritual herbs that intrigued him because Gu Yao liked them, nothing else mattered to him as much. The Sword Sect’s influence on him was greater. A sword cultivator only needed a sword, after all. The talismans he learned were primarily for the sake of Gu Yao’s safety, improving his equipment.

Now, very few of the spiritual talismans he created were sold in the Gu Chi store. Many cultivators who came seeking them regretted not buying them earlier. Had they known Chi Changye personally crafted the talismans, they would have bought one to keep as a collectible.

As a result, besides attracting many sword cultivators, these practitioners had developed a new hobby: talisman drawing. However, due to limited talent, they rarely made any breakthroughs.

Gu Yao was happy to hear this. “Are the spiritual fields over there vast? Will the Academy be able to manage?”

Jiang Yan chuckled. “Gu Yao, are you trying to get involved?”

Gu Yao waved his hand. “It’s not for me, but I acquired some things in the Cangkun Secret Realm. I might not use them, but they could be more useful in others’ hands.”

Jiang Yan understood. “Is it related to spiritual herb cultivation?”

Gu Yao nodded. No matter how good the items were, if left with him, they would rot away. It was better to let the Academy put them to better use. Cultivators interested in the items could study them further. He believed that with these resources, the output of spiritual fields and plants could definitely improve significantly.

Gu Yao was planning to consult with Director Yu about how to maximize the use of these valuable items when someone came to find Chi Changye, saying very respectfully, “The Director requests that Elder Chi come for a meeting, as there is something important to discuss.”

Chi Changye was very aloof in front of others. He nodded and then pulled Gu Yao along as they flew toward the peak where Director Yu was. The messenger quickly followed them, but he wouldn’t say that the Director was only calling for Chi Changye alone, as there was no need for Gu Yao to follow. Even if given several chances, he wouldn’t dare to say that—both of them held a transcendent position in the Academy.

“Elder Chi, Alchemist Gu, you’re here,” greeted the higher-ups who had arrived earlier, with warm and eager attitudes. Compared to the elder who had reached the Foundation Establishment stage, Chi Changye, who was in the Golden Core stage, had been promoted to the Supreme Elder of Tianfu Academy. Currently, only he and Director Yu held such status. Chi Changye declined to use the title “Supreme Elder,” and they all just called him Elder.

Chi Changye gave a slight nod of acknowledgment, while Gu Yao greeted everyone, acting like a well-behaved young man, which caused people to smile. When they thought about the vast amounts of toxins created by the well-behaved young man in front of them, they instinctively placed him in the “do not offend” category.

Although he appeared gentle and soft, once he got angry, his power was immense. Just think of the Golden Core cultivator who had escaped. If it weren’t for burning his essence blood to perform a blood escape, he wouldn’t have been able to get away. Even so, it was a desperate measure, and recovering essence blood was no easy task. Moreover, he was severely injured and poisoned. One couldn’t help but feel sympathy for that Golden Core cultivator.

Cultivating to the Golden Core was difficult, but if this person was indeed Hong Sect leader, he had barely enjoyed any glory before being reduced to such a state—suffering, humiliated, and with a ruined reputation.

Director Yu pointed to the leader of Qianxue Peak, a relatively neutral and conservative elder from the former Qianxue Sect, surnamed Jin, and said, “Elder Jin wants the Academy to cooperate in breaking the array sealing Hong Sect Leader’s meditation room. Elder Jin suspects that the Hong Sect Leader is no longer in the room and that the seclusion is just an excuse, so he wants to open it and see. But the room is not so easy to open. Elder Chi, what do you think?”

Chi Changye understood why he had been called here. This was to cut off the retreat of the person surnamed Hong and prevent any chance of recovery. He nodded and said, “If it can’t be opened, I can cut it open with a sword.”

The high-ranking officials, including Elder Jin, all gasped. But Chi Changye had the ability to do this, and no one thought he was boasting. Elder Jin cupped his hands and said gratefully, “Then I must trouble Elder Chi to take action. Qianxue Peak will be eternally grateful.”

Elder Jin had many grievances with the actions of the Hong Sect Leader and Elder Gan. When the sect split, he had done everything he could to protect some innocent disciples, holding out on Qianxue Peak. Afterward, he led them to seek refuge in Tianfu Academy, hoping for protection.
