Chapter 23: Chapter 23; Have they gone to school?

"Have they gone to school? Where is Missus?" He curiously queried while he strode over to the dining area to have his breakfast. He never misses any breakfast with his kids, but this time, something held him back for a few minutes, and he was late to join them for breakfast.

"We haven't seen them, Sixth Master Huo, and we haven't served them any breakfast! Even Missus hasn't been seen around here." They hurriedly responded, and before Huo Ting Cheng could sit down on the dining chair, he turned around and strode through the corridor over to the foot of the stairs. He took the stairs, and you could hear the heavy footsteps moving upstairs as the clank of his shoes could be heard.

He walked over to their bedroom door and opened the door, walked through the sitting area over to the bedroom door, opened and walked in only to hear snores coming from inside and they were still cuddled up as it was evening.

"Tang Fei..." His voice slightly sounded angered, and at the same time, he didn't want to be angry at her.

"Aah?" Tang Fei, who had been rudely awakened by that deep voice, immediately sat up, snapping her eyes open abruptly, and was welcomed by that angry face. The room still had dim lights turned on and it felt like it was still too early to wake up.

"Do you know what time it is? Do you know that today is Monday and the kids should be at school?" He was frustrated and couldn't understand how someone could lose a sense of time like that.

"Isn't it still too early?" She hoarsely inquired as the kids also woke from those sounds around them.

Huo Ting Cheng withdrew the curtains that were facing the fields. The sun was up and shining very brightly; this wasn't any longer earlier. They were already late for school, and the first lesson could be done by now.

"Why didn't you wake us up earlier if you woke up early? How about the maids? Why didn't anyone wake us up? You all did this to blame me?" She had overslept and she could only change the direction of the blame. It wasn't her fault that she overslept. She slept late and was bound to miss time.

She hopped off the bed with the kids, went into the washroom, and assisted them in cleaning their faces and mouths; they didn't have time to take a shower at the moment.

He slightly felt bad seeing her genuinely sad and rushing around the place confused. She could have overslept unknowingly.

Once they were done, they found their uniforms, while their mother found their school bags, making sure all their books were inside. Huo Ting Cheng could see how worried and rushing she was, so, he assisted her in taking care of the school bags while she cleaned her face and mouth.

"Are you done, kids?" She was so panicked and worried, the kids were late for school. This was already a bad image, she wanted the best for them, but not like this, and you could see how overwhelmed she was.

"The kids are already late! Take a deep breath!" Huo Ting Cheng began getting worried, seeing how her eyes watered silently as she tied the kids' hair as they had worn their uniforms.

"I'm trying to be a good mother, right? Why can't you guys give me a chance? Do you all really have to let me know I'm incompetent?" She was now trembling all over and Huo Zhihao completely felt heartbroken seeing his mother like this.

They all overslept, and it was their fault, too.

He hugged her tightly, "Mommy, don't get yourself worked up! You are already the best mother!" Huo Zhihao was the first one to assure her with lots and lots of kisses as always.
