Chapter 24 - When the Villain Confronts the Protagonist! All Pieces on a Chessboard
Chapter 24: When the Villain Confronts the Protagonist! All Pieces on a Chessboard
Xiang Yu, though abandoned by Liu Fei, still remembered the places he frequently visited for entertainment.
She went to one of Liu Fei’s regular haunts, a private club. After waiting at the entrance for an entire day, she finally spotted Liu Fei himself.
Her eyes briefly flashed with hatred when she saw him holding a woman in his arms.
It was this detestable man who had heartlessly cast her aside.
When Xiang Yu agreed to help the burly man, her reasons went beyond fear of Chen Mo’s revenge, the intimidation of those brutes, or even the money.
Her hatred for Liu Fei was also a significant factor.
From the plan those men had shared—targeting Chen Mo and setting him up—it was clear that Chen Mo wasn’t someone ordinary.
She couldn’t help but wish for Chen Mo and Liu Fei to clash, tear each other apart, and meet a miserable end.
Determined to execute the plan, Xiang Yu steeled herself.
With a loud slap, she struck her own face, creating a disheveled, pitiful appearance.
She then ran towards Liu Fei.
Liu Fei, in high spirits with a woman in his arms, frowned when he saw a familiar, disheveled figure running toward him.
“Brother Fei, it’s me, Xiang Yu. I have something important to tell you…”
“Xiang Yu?”
Liu Fei recalled her—she was the woman he had dumped after growing bored.
What was she doing here?
Before he could respond, the woman in his arms spoke first.
“Brother Fei… is this your ex-girlfriend? Wow, she’s really hit rock bottom, hasn’t she?”
She mocked Xiang Yu with a contemptuous glance, then snuggled closer to Liu Fei.
Xiang Yu sneered internally.
What are you flaunting for? Soon enough, you’ll be discarded too.
She had no time to bicker with a foolish woman and quickly put on an anxious expression.
“Brother Fei, that guy from three years ago… he’s out, and he beat me up…”
Liu Fei didn’t immediately understand what she meant.
With his arrogant and reckless personality, he often forgot about the people he wronged.
Only after Xiang Yu’s reminder did he recall the incident.
His lip curled with disdain.
Three years ago, that idiot ruined his plans to confess and ended up in prison—a punishment that was far too lenient.
“I ran into him yesterday, and he beat me up badly,” Xiang Yu said, pretending to tremble. “He said it’s not over yet. He’s learned some skills inside and is suddenly very dangerous. He’s out for revenge and said…”
She hesitated, glancing at Liu Fei’s face, which had already darkened.
“What else did he say?” Liu Fei demanded.
“He said he’s out for revenge. That if he doesn’t destroy your entire family and make your life a living hell, he won’t stop…”
Boom—
The words exploded in Liu Fei’s mind like thunder. His expression turned grim.
He had stepped on plenty of people in his time, and none had succeeded in retaliating against him.
But threatening to annihilate his family and make him suffer? That crossed the line.
With his arrogant and domineering nature, Liu Fei was enraged.
He didn’t doubt Xiang Yu’s words.
She had no reason and wouldn’t dare lie to him.
“Good, good! He wants to kill my family? Looks like I was too soft on him back then…”
Liu Fei’s face turned sinister as he asked, “Do you know where he is now?”
Xiang Yu shrank back, feigning fear.
“I saw him near a small bar yesterday. He was wearing a bartender’s uniform.”
“Perfect. Take me there. I’ll deal with him myself…”
Liu Fei quickly picked up his phone and made a call.
“Uncle Xiang, I need some backup. Send over a dozen guys…”
Under Xiang Yu’s guidance, Liu Fei led a group of men, marching aggressively toward a small bar.
Meanwhile, Chen Mo, who had recently been released from prison, hadn’t returned home or joined the Brotherhood as his mentor suggested.
Although he had changed significantly over the past three years, he still felt averse to the underworld.
He decided to find a regular job instead.
By chance, he came across a job opening at a bar and got hired.
Suddenly, a chubby figure rushed toward him in a panic.
“Brother Chen… someone’s looking for you. Did you offend someone?”
Chen Mo frowned.
“What’s going on?”
The chubby man opened his mouth to speak but abruptly stopped, his face paling in fear as he looked ahead.
The group had already stormed in.
Chen Mo’s pupils narrowed as he instantly recognized Liu Fei at the forefront.
Behind the group, cowering in the back, was the same woman who had betrayed him years ago.
A wave of killing intent surged within him.
Liu Fei also recognized Chen Mo.
Though Chen Mo appeared slightly more mature than three years ago, that ordinary face was unmistakable.
“Well, well… isn’t this our dear classmate, Chen?” Liu Fei said with a mocking grin.
“I came specifically to congratulate you on your release from prison.”
“How was it? Did you enjoy your three years inside?”
“Thanks to Young Master Liu, it wasn’t too bad,” Chen Mo replied coldly, suppressing his murderous intent as his lips twitched.
“Not too bad, huh? How about I send you back in for a few more years?” Liu Fei’s tone dripped with malice.
Then, his expression hardened, and he waved his hand dramatically.
“You worthless piece of trash! You dare to threaten to kill my entire family and make my life a living hell?”
“Boys, get him! Beat him to within an inch of his life!”
At Liu Fei’s command, the dozen or so hired thugs charged toward Chen Mo.
Chen Mo froze for a moment.
When had he ever said he would kill Liu Fei’s entire family?
Sure, he had thought about it, but he had never voiced it.
There was no time to dwell on the accusation.
The gang of thugs was already upon him.
Chen Mo let out a cold snort, a contemptuous smirk forming at the corner of his mouth.
This ragtag group of fools thought they could take him down?
Did they think he was still the same person from three years ago?
The first thug lunged at him. Chen Mo clenched his fist, his five fingers curling tightly.
With a powerful punch, he struck the thug square in the chest.
Crack!
A sharp, bone-chilling sound echoed in the air.
The thug’s face twisted in agony as his body was hurled backward, crashing into several others rushing forward.
Chen Mo then moved like a tiger in a flock of sheep, each strike landing with precision and devastating force.
One punch, one opponent down.
In no time, the thugs were sprawled across the ground, groaning and unable to stand.
