Chapter 201 Alpha Lucas
"You mean like marrying someone I don't love? Because I don't know him." I snapped, lifting my eyes to meet his.
His silence was answer enough.
My heart beat faster. "You said I had time."
Zeir didn't flinch. "Time is up. We have already started preparing the ceremony."
"I never agreed," I said through gritted teeth.
"I didn't ask for agreement," he replied. "This is for the safety of the realm."
"Safety from what exactly?" I stood abruptly, swaying from the sudden movement. "Because I don't see what you are protecting!"
His brows furrowed, "I'm not having this conversation with you… You won't even understand even if I hear." He paused, inhaling deeply. "Get some rest, you'll be getting married in three days."
My heart hammered in my chest. "Three days?" I arched my brow in disbelief.
"Yes, you have been sleeping for days now." Zeir walked closer to me, "Your groom will be here in two days. You always wanted to know who he is, his name…"
"I don't want to know!" I snapped at him. "I want to be left alone, uncle…"
I looked away, my nails dug into my flesh. 'What is the point in arguing when they never saw me as one of theirs?'
"Get some rest."
Even his voice lacked a hint of care. When the door shut behind him, I let out a sigh of relief.
I buried my head in my palm, a lot had been happening and I could not even understand what they all meant.
"Three days… that's the only time I have left in this place I call home."
'Let's start by packing what I need, I'll rescue White when the curfew is lifted.' I thought to myself as I staggered towards the table.
…..
(Bloodmoon pack.)
Thick forest surrounded a large city, and far within the city was a huge grey mansion.
The growling and snarling of the werewolves training filled the air.
Within the mansion wall, in a dimly lit room, a figure with broad shoulders sat cross-legged, holding a big wrap of weed. The cigarette burned as he took a long drag.
He blew out smoke from his mouth and nose, creating a fog-like illusion around him.
The door to the room burst open, and two figures stepped inside, one of them, a female wearing a long black cloak, with a crooked staff in her left hand.
She pushed back the cape revealing her grey hair, and her eyes were milky white. She wore a red ruby ring on her middle finger.
"Alpha Lucas." Her voice was rasped, her tone cunning like a snake.
"Well. Well. Well…what do I owe this sudden visit? Bone witch?" Lucas's hoarse voice was nonchalant, and he took another drag of his cigarette.
"I have good news for you." She purred.
"What might that be?" He spared her a glance.
"I came to give you good news… You didn't even offer me a drink." Bone Witch paused. "What can you offer me, Alpha. I want something precious." Her glimmer with mischief.
"Something precious?" He hummed. "What could that be?" He looked at her with a little interest.
"A deal."
"A deal? And what might that be?" He uncrossed his legs, then he leaned forward to look at her.
"I want the Lycan King's heart." Silence fell on the room, the air turned tense, as if the walls were holding their breath.
"You want the Lycan's heart, why?" Lucas was stunned but he quickly masked it with a nonchalant look.
"I'm afraid that is none of your business." The bone witch's expression turned grim.
"Fine, we won't interfere in each other's business. I agree to give you his heart…" He stood up, walking towards the witch and her accomplice. "But only if you help me kill him… and of course, if the good news is really good."
"Of course, you will like the good news." She chuckled hysterically. She stepped closer to Lucas.
"You had thought your plan was ruined when the daughter of the Silvermoon pack fell off the cliff, but…" She drawled.
"Don't keep me in suspense." Lucas barked out of impatience.
Hearing it was about the daughter the Alpha of Silvermoon pack had sold, he lost all restraint.
"Calm down Alpha." She chuckled.
"Tell me, what do you know about Ember? Tell me!"
The bone witch raised her hand. "She's alive." She brought out a white orb. "This is the same magical orb the chosen Princess of the fae had gifted to the witches a century ago," she said.
"How are you sure she is alive? I won't let it slide if you lie to me." Lucas growled.
The white orb began to change into a golden colour. "I told you before to buy her during the auction, but you failed to… and you also failed to abduct her from the Bloodshade pack.
When she fell off the cliff the orb had turned completely white, but now it's becoming golden again. Which only means that Ember is alive."
Lucas looked at the orb which was a dull golden shade now. "She's alive…" He was stunned, his eyes slowly carried a glint of madness. "This means our plan is not ruined. We can easily win against the Bloodshade pack once we get our hands on her." He tossed the cigarette into a silver bowl.
"Exactly, and you will become the king of the werewolves."
Hearing the bone witch's words, a loud laugh tore from his throat. "The goddess is really on our side." His laugh died down immediately, and his expression turned dead serious. "Where is she now?"
"That… I don't know yet." The bone witch let out a frustrated sigh.
"Then find her!" He growled, his fangs elongated and his eyes turned to a bright golden colour.
"Watch your tone, Alpha Lucas." The bone witch hit her staff on the ground causing it to tremble.
"I just want to know where she is." He panted.
"Calm down Alpha Lucas." the accomplice who came along with the witch said, pulling the hood over his face down.
"And who might you be?" He eyed her like a piece of trash.
"I am from the Crescent Moon pack. I am Alpha Allison."
