Transmigrated into a Villainess? I’m Going to conquer the Heroine!

Chapter 9 - Gladly be the young lady’s dog

Tang Yuan turned her head, crossed her arms and stubbornly said, “Not good.”

Of course, it was a lie. Even if a beauty wore a sack, she’d still look good. But the thought of Jiang Zi meticulously dressing up and even changing her style to cater to that disgusting man made Tang Yuan angry just thinking about it.

“Then, can you help me pick out a more suitable outfit?”

Tang Yuan glanced up instinctively, meeting Jiang Zi’s dark eyes. From those eyes, she could clearly read sincerity and earnestness, making her feel embarrassed.

She lowered her head, remained silent momentarily, and then spoke defeatedly, “Actually, I was just talking nonsense.”

“But you don’t like me dressed like this,” Jiang Zi affirmed. She pinched Tang Yuan’s chin, not allowing her to evade. Her dark pupils held an undeniable assertiveness while her voice was soft as the wind. “Tang Yuan, I trust your taste. Can you help me pick a new outfit?”

“Alright,” Tang Yuan agreed readily.

She brushed Jiang Zi’s hand aside. The distance between the two was so close that they could feel each other’s warmth. Tang Yuan nudged to the side, then stood up and opened Jiang Zi’s suitcase.

Wasn’t this what she wanted?

Jiang Zi didn’t have many casual outfits. She tossed a short black t-shirt and a pair of black-and-white mixed wide-leg cargo pants onto the bed.

“Change into this outfit.”

Jiang Zi’s lips curled into a smile. She nodded approvingly at the choice, then picked up the clothes and headed towards the bathroom.

Why didn’t Jiang Zi doubt her? And moved so quickly to change?

But this style was a world apart from the gentle, white dress she was wearing.

Tang Yuan squatted down, lost in thought, as she looked at the uniform style of clothing in Jiang Zi’s suitcase.

So she only brought one white dress, which looked like a spare for dealing with someone—no need to explain who.

Chu Yu liked this style, so she dressed this way, but Jiang Zi clearly didn’t like it.

Tang Yuan, full of resentment, closed the suitcase. From now on, as long as she is around, Jiang Zi can only be herself—forget about catering to Chu Yu’s preferences!

When she looked up, she saw Jiang Zi coming out of the bathroom, already dressed in the outfit she had picked out, holding the white dress in her hand.

Tang Yuan stood, walked towards her, and snatched the dress from Jiang Zi’s hand. “This dress doesn’t look good on you at all. I’ll throw it away.”

Jiang Zi’s grip tightened, clutching one end of the dress. Her gaze fixed intently on Tang Yuan’s face, the veins on the back of her hand visibly popping, her eyes swirling with unclear emotions.

There was no prolonged standoff, not even a second. Without raising her head, Tang Yuan heard a voice.

“Okay.”

With almost every ounce of strength in her body, Jiang Zi forces herself to stay calm and relaxed.

— That was a gift from Chu Yu. You cherish it like a treasure.

Jiang Zi closed her eyes, her fingertips digging into her flesh, the pain in her palm and the numbness of her spirit tearing at each other.

“Jiang Zi.”

Tang Yuan returned after throwing away the dress, her face displaying a hint of smugness.

Jiang Zi opened her eyes and looked at her sluggishly.

Tang Yuan was startled by the bloodshot eyes and froze for a moment. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed red droplets falling from Jiang Zi’s palm.

Water? No, it’s blood!

Tang Yuan hurried over, grabbing Jiang Zi’s hand, noticing the blood between her nails. “Jiang Zi! What are you doing? Why are you taking out your anger on yourself?”

Jiang Zi stared at her palm. It was just her nails; the injury wasn’t too deep, and some blood droplets had already coagulated.

“I’m not taking my anger out on myself…” Seeing the heartache clearly reflected in Tang Yuan’s eyes, Jiang Zi felt a sudden sense of grievance. Without warning, she pulled Tang Yuan into her embrace, wrapping her arms around her shoulders and holding her close.

“Thank you.”

These two words entered Tang Yuan’s ears in a somewhat inexplicable manner.

She didn’t ask or say anything. She sensed the negative emotions radiating from Jiang Zi. She had only gone to the door to throw out some trash and didn’t understand what could have happened in such a short time.

Jiang Zi nuzzled against Tang Yuan’s soft hair, which was fragrant and comforting to touch.

Thank you, Tang Yuan, for helping her get rid of something she couldn’t shake off. Jiang Zi never liked or treasured that dress.

Feeling the soft bundle in her arms fidgeting uneasily, Jiang Zi reluctantly released her.

Tang Yuan turned back to look behind herself but couldn’t see anything. Annoyed, she asked, “Did you rub the blood on your hand on my clothes?”

Jiang Zi paused for a moment, looking at her palm. It seemed that, indeed, there was a bit less blood…

Tang Yuan grabbed her other hand and pulled her toward the next room.

“I have band-aids. Let’s mend your hand.”

“And also change clothes.”

As Jiang Zi followed her, she noticed a small spot of blood on the waist area of Tang Yuan’s golden mini-dress. Oddly enough, she felt a bizarre sense of joy.

Tang Yuan helped her wash her hand and put on a band-aid before changing her own clothes.

When she came over, her assistant was still helping to tidy up the clothes. With four suitcases full of things, it was indeed difficult to organize. Seeing her struggle, Tang Yuan said, “ShuangXi, just throw away some of these things. It’s too hard to tidy so much stuff.”

ShuangXi didn’t lift her head. “Ah Yuan, don’t care about me. All of these are money.  I disagree. I’ll take care of them properly.”

Every item taken out was something she couldn’t afford to buy herself. Even the most inconspicuous short-sleeve shirt cost several thousand.

How could she just throw it away? She will never agree.

“Then just take any unopened skincare and cosmetics you like.”

“Okay!” Shuangxi, now invigorated, was full of energy.

Those ignorant people who mocked her for serving a temperamental young lady and advised her to find a new job didn’t know how much better life was serving a young lady. Her quality of life had improved significantly.

The point is, this young lady wasn’t even temperamental! She was very kind to those around her! She would gladly be the young lady’s dog and begged that those self-righteous people would stop interfering.

“I’ll take a call.”

Tang Yuan glanced at Jiang Zi as she picked up her phone and walked out the door. She soon returned. “He’s here. Let’s go.”

“Okay, okay, right away.” Tang Yuan grabbed her bag, threw it over her shoulder, and ran over to Jiang Zi, linking her arm with hers. “Let’s go.”

Tonight’s battle was crucial. She must fall out with Chu Yu and ensure victory in their argument. She had even applied bright red lipstick to look assertive.

Chu Yu had sent someone to help with Jiang Zi’s luggage and to show the way.

Tang Yuan stuck close to Jiang Zi, causing the leading man to glance sideways several times.

But he didn’t dare ask any questions. Tang Yuan was good-tempered with Chu Yu, but that didn’t mean she was really good-tempered.

The guide led them over, and from a distance, they saw a man standing next to the luxury car, occasionally checking his watch.

Finally, hearing the commotion, he looked up. The guide went to the trunk to place the luggage, and the woman who followed behind walked toward him.

There were two people.

Chu Yu: …

Why is Tang Yuan also here!
