Chapter 306: Chapter 306: Prime Form
That talk about a friendly match was clearly a joke. This was a battlefield — no way the two of them would really start fighting now.
"I'll let you go for now. But if you keep saying that kind of… nonsense, I might have to teach you a lesson," the black-haired girl said, still a little flushed in the cheeks. She gave a shy smile, looking stunning in that moment.
"Oh? Haven't seen you in a while, but your confidence sure has grown," Hayashizaki said, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm the strongest now, you know."
Yukinoshita Yukino and Hayashizaki locked eyes for a moment, then smiled at each other.
But the next second, their faces changed. They both turned to look in the same direction.
They had both sensed a powerful and familiar cursed energy suddenly appear in Ginza.
"Hayashizaki-kun, is that…" Yukinoshita Yukino frowned.
"Yeah, it's our old friend," Hayashizaki replied with a grin. This cursed energy was way stronger than before.
"Sukuna."
...
Uraume stepped back two steps, then dropped to a half-kneel and bowed deeply to Itadori Yuji. "Lord Sukuna."
Itadori Yuji opened his eyes again — both pupils had turned a deep, crimson red.
Everyone, still frozen by the cursed energy, looked at the awakened pink-haired boy with serious expressions.
"Broth... no, is that Ryoumen Sukuna?" Todo Aoi could feel a huge, evil cursed energy rising from Itadori Yuji's body, slowly pushing away Yuji's own energy.
"Tch, this again? That woman's strength really hasn't changed at all." Kugisaki Nobara clicked her tongue in frustration. She could still move, but didn't dare make a move.
Yoshino Junpei, who was shielding the badly hurt Fushiguro Megumi, looked at his friend who had just awakened again, full of worry. "Yuji…"
Ryoumen Sukuna lifted his head and looked off into the distance.
He could sense two strong cursed energies coming from that direction. One of them even felt a bit familiar.
Ryoumen Sukuna grinned. "So, you're finally back, that brat named Hayashizaki!"
The heart that had been pierced by Uraume's ice spell healed in the blink of an eye.
At first, Sukuna had planned not to heal this deadly wound in order to keep control of Yuji's body for longer. But now, he had changed his mind.
If he was going up against that brat, then he needed to be at full strength.
But Yuji, currently unconscious, could still wake up at any moment and push him back inside.
So…
"Uraume, do you have the rest of the fingers?" Sukuna asked.
"They're with me."
A voice came from a broken shop window nearby. Kenjaku stepped out with a smile, the injury on his neck already healed.
He reached into the front of his robes and pulled out four long, rune-covered objects between his fingers.
They were four of Sukuna's fingers.
"The last one was probably hidden somewhere by Gojo Satoru on purpose—we couldn't find it. Of the twenty total, you've already swallowed fifteen. These are the other four."
Sukuna narrowed all four of his eyes and quietly said the name of the man wearing Geto Suguru's face: "Kenjaku."
"It's been a while, Sukuna," Kenjaku replied with a calm smile and a nod.
"Nineteen, huh… that should be enough," Sukuna muttered. With these extra four fingers, he might finally be able to do something that had been on his mind for a while.
"There's one more thing." A dark ripple opened up beside him, and he reached into it, pulling out a dried-up head.
It was the head of the Living Buddha.
Seeing the withered, wooden-looking head, the King of Curses finally showed a rare look of surprise and joy. "You actually found this too?"
"Well, more or less," Kenjaku replied with a smile.
"With this, even if we never find the last finger, it doesn't matter." Sukuna grinned. "Now all that's left is…"
He turned to look at the spiky-haired boy who was still frozen.
Fushiguro Megumi slowly opened his eyes wider. He didn't know what Sukuna was planning, but whatever it was, it clearly wasn't good.
Yoshino Junpei, who had joined Jujutsu High, had already learned about the King of Curses sealed inside his friend Itadori Yuji. He also knew that it was this same curse that tricked a spirit into killing his mother.
And now, that curse was walking toward them in his friend's body.
The pressure coming from him was so heavy that Junpei couldn't even lift his head, let alone look him in the eye.
The black-haired boy was shaking slightly, biting down hard, fists clenched so tightly that his nails dug into his palms and drew blood.
In his mind, the memories came flooding back—of being bullied by his classmates before he met Yuji and the others.
Back then, he was just like this. Head down, unable to fight back, letting others walk all over him.
Wasn't this exactly the same as before?
Yoshino Junpei clenched his jaw so tightly it felt like his teeth might break.
Then, he suddenly looked up and gently set down the person he had been holding.
"Hey, Yoshino…" Fushiguro Megumi seemed to realize what he was about to do and tried to stop him, but the words got stuck in his throat.
He saw the determination in the dark-haired boy's eyes.
Yoshino Junpei stood up and stepped in front of Fushiguro Megumi, with a glowing blue jellyfish shikigami floating behind him.
Ryoumen Sukuna walked toward him without showing any emotion.
The person in his way was so weak that Sukuna didn't even bother to say more than one word: "Move."
He casually swung his hand, the back of it slapping Yoshino Junpei's face. Junpei didn't even have time to react before he was sent flying, crashing straight into a wall.
"Junpei!" Fushiguro Megumi shouted, but his voice was suddenly cut off.
Sukuna sliced off one of his own fingers, then grabbed Fushiguro Megumi's face and forced his mouth open.
"Mmph!?"
Sukuna shoved the severed finger down Fushiguro Megumi's throat, making him swallow it by force.
Off to the side, Kenjaku watched with interest. "I see, so it's a soul transfer technique. You already learned it back then?"
He had only seen it once before Sukuna died, and yet he managed to master it just from that?
What a monster.
"Well, I'll leave you all to enjoy yourselves. I've got other things to do."
As he spoke, Kenjaku handed the four fingers and the head of the Living Buddha to Uraume, then turned and stepped into the black spiral, disappearing.
He was heading back to the Tombs of the Star under Jujutsu High to repair the empty barrier of Tengen that he had destroyed himself.
Kenjaku had only broken key points of the barrier. Since he had barrier techniques as powerful as Tengen's, fixing it wouldn't be too hard.
Once the barrier was restored, he could use Mahito's Idle Transfiguration to activate the people he had marked and implanted with cursed objects, turning them into sorcerers or vessels. Then he could turn the world into a place where sorcerers constantly curse and kill each other.
The Culling Game.
In the Culling Game, sorcerers who died would have their cursed energy become fuel to grow a powerful cursed spirit made from tens of thousands of pieces of cursed energy.
And the goal was simple: to explore the full potential of what a cursed spirit could be.
Originally, the plan had been on hold after Mahito died, but thanks to the merging of parallel worlds, Mahito had come back to life.
And the person responsible for all of this…
"Heh, so he's called Hayashizaki? Able to cut through space and time—if I get the chance, I'd really like to sit down and have a talk with him."
Kenjaku, now back in the Tombs of the Star, chuckled as he began repairing the barrier he had destroyed.
