Chapter 35
Chapter 35 – Chapter 32 – A World Where Weaker People Can Also Be Happy
Under the blessing of jujutsu power, Hachiman Hikigaya fought two opponents at once, not falling behind at all. Instead, he was even getting stronger as they fought; Hayama Hayato and Yumiko Miura couldn’t even win a point.
Hachiman pretty much ended the match in a complete dominant posture.
Those who lost, including Hayama, could only leave dejectedly. Even the normally amiable Hayama didn’t seem to have any intention to communicate with him, leaving Hachiman Hikigaya unable to make his victory speech.
Hayama originally planned on flattering Hachiman after winning, then proposing a friendly game of tennis together. He thought this would smoothly settle things.
Unexpectedly, being heavily defeated despite having two people fighting, they were now left in an awkward situation.
“Why are those guys from Hayama here?” Yukinoshita Yukino held a first aid kit over to Ayaka Hozuki.
“It’s because Yumiko wanted to play tennis,” Ayaka said with a bitter smile, recounting the recent events to Yukino. “But Hikigaya-senpai is truly strong, taking down both Hayama and Yumiko by himself.”
There was admiration twinkling in his eyes like little stars. If he had such strength, perhaps he could make Soubu High’s Tennis Club great again.
What kind of skill is it to bully ordinary people with jujutsu power?
Yukinoshita Yukino pursed her lips, inwardly complaining about this.
However, compared with Hikigaya’s win, she was more curious about another matter.
The Parasitic Bug seems to hate Hayama Hayato? While treating Ayaka Hozuki’s wounds, Yukinoshita Yukino wondered curiously in her mind.
Have you forgotten what I saw in your little memories? Lin Qi asked with indignation. Ever since you kids were little, I noticed how this kid Hayama has ill intentions, wanting to pursue your older sister even back then!
Do you mean Hayama likes your elder sister? Lin Qi’s words caused Yukinoshita’s CPU to nearly burn out. Moreover, he started liking her since childhood?
How did she not know about it?
Memories before elementary school were blurry, leaving only vague recollections of how when she was younger, she and Hayama would follow her elder sister around all day.
Did you notice that the way Hayama dealt with bullying back then was similar to your elder sister’s approach? That was imitation though, not very skilled one.
Lin Qi spoke with disdain in his voice.
It seems like he hasn’t changed in dealing with his relationships with others?
Are you talking about how Hayama handles his relationship with people around him? It seems so, but maybe he’s gotten better at it than when he was young.
Cows and sheep live in flocks, tigers always walk alone.
Ah, it looks like the Parasitic Bug can sometimes say something sensible.
These words weren’t mine, they were from Kenshiro.
Kenshiro? You mean the literary giant Mr. Luxun from Huaguo who renounced medicine for literature? But wasn’t the Parasitic Bug a figure living a thousand years ago? How would he know a modern literary giant?
There are many things you don’t know.
Even Yukinoshita Yukino herself didn’t notice that during her conversation with Lin Qi, her tone carried an unintentional smile.
This joy akin to a green sprout quietly breaking through soil was sincerely reflected on the face of the cute girl.
Ayaka Hozuki was looking at Yukinoshita Yukino beside her with a smile when her actions in treating wounds suddenly paused.
“Yukinoshita-san?”
The puzzled call pulled Yukinoshita Yukino’s consciousness back to reality, making her blush. “Sorry, I was spacing out just now.”
“Has something good happened to you, Yukinoshita-san? You seem to be in a very good mood.” Ayaka asked curiously.
“Something good… Maybe.”
She quickly disinfected and treated the wound, then instructed, “Make sure not to let the wound touch water to avoid infection.”
“I know, thanks.”
“No problem. Let’s stop here for today at noon.”
Yukinoshita Yukino packed up the iodine and medicine, talked to Yui Yuigahama for a bit, then left again to return the first aid kit to the infirmary.
The school nurse must have gone somewhere since no one else was around, so Lin Qi slipped out for some fresh air.
“By the way, if you were thrown back to the time when you were bullied, what would you do?” Lin Qi asked curiously.
Seemingly unprepared for Lin Qi to ask this question, Yukinoshita Yukino was stunned for a moment but replied without hesitation, “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.”
“Whether you call teachers or use violence directly, no matter what method I would use to bring those who have used petty tactics against me to justice.”
Talking about the past, Yukinoshita Yukino once had no one to confide in. Now, with Lin Qi who knew her well in every sense, she felt compelled to open up, so she continued speaking.
“Do you think it’s strange how excellent people are being marginalized by mediocre ones? The weak aren’t excellent but instead choose darkness, teaming up to push down the strong, thinking it will elevate themselves.”
“This clearly wrong world makes me want to change it.”
Yukinoshita Yukino walked to the window. Early summer breezes passed through the lush courtyard, carrying the scent of grass and earth into the infirmary.
Listening quietly to the girl’s words, Lin Qi chuckled, “Naive, child.”
His laughter and words made Yukinoshita Yukino frown. She thought he was a fitting listener, but now seemed like she might have misjudged, “Is there something wrong with what I’ve said? What insights does the Parasitic Bug have?”
“You are indeed excellent, but insufficiently powerful,” Lin Qi said.
“You’re not strong enough either physically or socially to rise above those people or discourage them from their ill intentions. Thus, you were bullied and marginalized. Am I mistaken?”
“I…”
I just don’t want to deal with those fools, she instinctively wanted to retort, but the sentence couldn’t be spoken because in front of her stood Yukinoshita Yono.
“You too are a weak person, and this world’s cruelty towards the weak is more steadfast than any other force.”
The reflection in the window showed the girl’s face, two pairs of eyes looking in entirely different directions.
“You don’t really long for a correct world.
“What you desire, what you wish to create, is a world where the weak can smile happily.”
…
School was dismissed, then became a jujutsu sorcerer:
