Transmigrated as an Omega: Claimed and Mated to Two Alpha Brothers

Chapter 8: MYSTICAL CREATURE PROFILE IDENTIFIED

"Lana, come here, look what I found," I watched a young boy with golden hair shout over his shoulder, a wide, dazzling smile on his face as he held something between his palms.

"What's that, Eryx? Mama told me not to get my shoes dirty again. It's not a ladylike thing to do, she says," a sassy, childish, and feminine voice said this time, as a young girl toddled over to where he stood.

She held her gown carefully above her feet as she tiptoed over to him in the mud, obviously trying to avoid getting mud on her shoes.

"What's that?" she asked, her eyes wide with awe as she looked at the creature struggling in his hands.

"It's an Aubbin," the boy replied, petting the creature's back till it stopped struggling and melted in the comfort of his hands.

"Ahh, what's an Aubbin, Eryx?" the girl asked with a squeal, overly excited about the new creature.

"It's a creature of the night like us. Zeus Mama said it's called the 'Little One of the Dawn' and appears only during twilight. It's like a guardian fae, meant for protection," Eryx said, his eyes bright with happiness as he stroked the creature gently, making it purr lightly.

"A guardian fae, Eryx? But the fae are evil. I heard Papa talking about it with Mama. He said the fae are…" She immediately wrapped her hands around her mouth tightly, her eyes widening in what seemed like fear, and that seemed to attract Eryx's attention as his eyes wrinkled with confusion while he watched her.

"What do you know about the fae, Lana? Zeus Mama told me that we are forbidden to talk about them in the pack," Eryx said, his eyes brimming with what looked like fear.

"I know, Eryx," the girl said, rolling her eyes like she was fed up already.

"Forget what I said. I was not supposed to say it, by the way. I heard Papa and Mama talking, and I eavesdropped on their conversation again. Forget I said any of that," she said.

"How do you know that's an Aubbin? I have never heard of them before. Are you making this up like the last time?" she said, her eyes narrowing as she watched him with suspicion.

"No, I'm not, Lana. This is an Aubbin. I know it because I have seen it before," he said, his eyes flaring with irritation.

"Okay, I believe you, Eryx. But how do you know it's an Aubbin?" she said with a sigh, sounding sassy.

"I have seen it before. I was shown. Zeus Mama does magic," he said, his eyes brimming with adoration and amazement as he uttered the last words lowly, like it was a secret, and the little girl's eyes widened like saucers, clearly from shock, her hands flying to her mouth to cover it.

"Magic?" she shouted the words again, obviously not able to believe what she had heard.

"Shhh, Lana. Don't say the words loudly," he said, his eyes wide with fear as he beckoned her to be quiet.

"Sorry," she squeaked.

"What are you going to do with it, Eryx? I mean the Aubbin."

"I'm giving it to you, Lana. It's yours. Take it as a gift from me. Zeus Mama said Aubbins protect their host and owner with their magic, and I want it to be you. In times when I'm not there to protect you, the Aubbin would protect you," he said, smiling in happiness as he handed the creature over to her open hands.

"Wow, thank you, Eryx," she said with a shy smile, her eyes wide with happiness as she petted the creature, which had grown quiet in her hands.

She looked up to him again, his beautiful face more brightened under the sun as he moved the golden locks falling to his face backward from inconvenience.

"You are my best friend, Eryx, and you will always remain my bestest of friends. Thank you, Eryx. I love you," she said, bending low to meet his kneeling posture on the ground and kissed his face while he smiled widely at her, his eyes brimming with pride and love.

"Lana, my love, I'm sorry for not protecting you," a soft masculine voice filtered through my ears, making me gasp in shock.

The ground crumbled as it tore, scattering into parts and dividing itself as I unconsciously let out a cry in fear to warn the children, but I saw their bodies disappearing instead. My eyes could not comprehend what they saw next.

I watched in shock as the figure of young Eryx started disappearing, starting from his hands along with every other part of his body, and Lana stood as if time had frozen, staring at Eryx with her face broken into a wide smile — the same exact posture from earlier — but she did not blink.

But then the creature she held turned its head on hearing my shout, and it was clearly not frozen like young Lana. Its beautiful, wide purple eyes stared directly at me like it could see me standing there. It cocked its head to the side, perching up from the comfort of young Lana's hand as it looked directly at me, and that made my heart rate speed up with fear.

I watched it silently watching me until young Lana's hands completely disappeared along with it. The world before me shattered like glass, destroying itself, and immediately, the ground which I stood on tore into two, dividing itself. I shifted myself on instinct and fear to save my life. As fear gripped my entire body, I looked around for somebody to help me, only to realize that the place was completely empty. The world had crumbled, and everywhere was completely dark, with not even a shadow of light.

My heart rate increased as cold swept through my skin, raising goosebumps on my arms. I felt eyes watching me, and immediately something brushed past my skin. I let out a scream of fear, immediately moving away from whatever that was, only to slip and fall into the torn ground. As I fell into the divided earth, even though I was unable to see what was below, I clearly knew I was falling to my death.

I jerked myself awake, gasping for air, as I felt a comforting rub on my back.

"Lana, what's wrong?" a milky-soft and sweet masculine voice came through, making my eyes fly open wide. I looked up to see a man — the same man from earlier — sitting beside me on the surprisingly soft bed I laid on. His hands went to my throat, which I had wrapped my wrist around while gasping for air, and he trailed my neck in a feather-like sweet touch that made me want to muzzle myself in his arms and burrow my face in his chest, licking each and every part of his…

Holy water! I said in shock. Where did that thought come from? I wondered.

"I should have stayed. I should have protected you better, Lana. I promised you that, and I failed you. I'm sorry, my love. Punish me as you deem fit," he suddenly spoke up, surprising me from my thoughts.
