Chapter 5: Chapter 4: Get drunk

Seeing that Thea had a dull expression, Malcolm didn't know what to say. With years of experience, he tried to ease the awkward atmosphere. In the past, their conversations were few and far between, and he hated her lack of English vocabulary!

He wanted to ask Thea if there was something wrong or if she was hearing anything, but looking at her slow gaze, he realized she had already heard everything she should or shouldn't have. His heart was filled with regret for going to the Queens' house to propose that day. Why hadn't he investigated earlier? If he had used his own intelligence to research, he would have figured out the truth. It wasn't that hard to understand now.

At this moment, Thea said her life was completely safe, and she could almost be satisfied. She kept that lazy expression, her face a little stiff, and she wanted to shed a few tears. She gave a loud "hum," turned her head, and ran away quickly.

"Thea…" Moira shouted hoarsely behind her. To the woman who had taken advantage of someone who cared for her with all her heart, Thea could only apologize mentally and hope that Moira would treat her well in the future, making up for everything.

She ran out of the house toward a very luxurious bar. It wasn't the second act of a girl running away from home but rather a visit made under the influence of alcohol.

Thea wasn't worried about being intimidated. The boss behind such a luxurious place, Malcolm, must have been closely involved. On the contrary, the small bar was dangerous. Her hunch was correct. The bar he ran was still a hardcore place. He had given specific orders, calling the boss to take care of the girl. Malcolm repeated this trivial matter three times in a whisper, scaring the owner of the bar, who almost confessed to Thea that she was like his mother. A few strong, robust men with intimidating faces were there to act as a protective wall, all alert, afraid something was going to happen.

He ordered the DJ to play some soft music. The DJ was puzzled, but the boss could only do so. He didn't care about the dissatisfied customers. The bar owner had no intention of serving now, so what kind of atmosphere could he provide? The boss quickly contacted his aunts and got excited by the soft song.

"Boss, what wine should we serve the girl?" asked the bartender's brother, rushing over.

The bar owner said sternly, "Be respectful and call her ma'am! Got it? Say it again!"

The younger brother, extremely suspicious that his boss hadn't taken his medicine today due to the advanced stage of mania, still lowered his head and said without further ado, "Yes, boss, what wine should we give the ma'am?"

This question was difficult for the bar owner. After all, the girl had drunk two glasses carelessly, saving him the worry and effort. The boss knew he was handling the situation with care. He didn't want to be reckless, but that could be dangerous.

The bartender knew that although drinking wasn't a vice, he needed to stay close to her to prevent her from being bothered by others. Thea's appearance wasn't impressive, but she was still a rare beauty. Although she was young and seemed a little immature, the United States had its share of bullies, and he knew it. After some thought, he decided to let Thea drink slowly while he just watched. The friendly game was about to begin. He instructed his men to prepare weapons in case anything happened outside the bar. No one was to bother the young woman.

The younger brother, seeing his anxious look, asked in a low voice, "Boss, who is this girl?" Thea had always been very strict with her tutoring and never went to clubs. He knew who she was. Hearing Malcolm's tone, he understood that if something happened to her, even Superman wouldn't be able to save the situation. Although he had some suspicions, he didn't explain them to his younger brother. He simply replied, "That's my mother."

The younger brother was shocked, realizing that his boss was not only manic but also had deteriorating intelligence. "I'll look for some resumes for the talent market tomorrow…" he thought, confused.

Thea, on the other hand, drank one glass after another, her mind full of thoughts. Today's plan had been successful, and her life was completely safe. Was it time to strengthen herself even more?

They say the poor depend on mutations, and the rich depend on technology. She was the only heir to the Queen Group and the second heir to the Merlyn Group. She wasn't considered a poor person, but the current technology wasn't as great as Iron Man's or Malcolm's. Her invisible wealth also came from her martial arts training, and many of the technologies of the black Batman were also in full action. The Atomic Man suit could be a unique way to enhance, but his suit was more basic, like Ant-Man's, and not the sophisticated style of armor like Tony Stark's.

Iron Man also put in a lot of effort when no one else was around. He could have defeated the Winter Soldier without the suit, with his bare hands, and the Winter Soldier's combat power was the same as that of any villain. Green Arrow was almost at that level. But like Oliver, 20% of his body was covered in scars and second-degree burns. The fractures were so severe that Thea herself wondered if that was the aesthetic she wanted to pursue. After all, her own arms were thinner than Oliver's.

Perhaps, she thought, she could combine this with an advanced scientific research laboratory. Or who knows, maybe one day she would awaken special abilities? But to do so, she would have to survive extreme situations. The laboratory had been under construction for six years, and the plot had already begun.

Thinking about this, she smiled a little, but soon realized someone was watching her, causing her smile to turn into a crooked, forced smile.

This scene was captured by the owner of the bar, who, in his youth, had been a literary and artistic man. He saw a girl running away from home, drinking and thinking about her own problems, with a bitter smile on her lips.
